OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Payment of arrears to pre-2016 pensioners/family pensioners on
account of revision of pension/ family pension w.e.f. 01.01.2016.
1. In continuation to this Department's Office Memorandum No.
Fin(Pen)A(3)-1/2021-Part-II-Loose dated 17-09-2022 and the Office Memoranda
No.Fin(Pen)A(3)- 1/2021-Part-II dated 13-03-2024 and 28-08-2024 on the
subject
cited above, the undersigned is directed to say that the Governor, Himachal
Pradesh,
is pleased to order that entire balance arrears @ 22.50%
of the total pension/ family
pension arrears shall be paid to the pensioners and family pensioners who have
attained the age of 75 years and above, with the pension/family pension
of October,
2024 payable on 28" October, 2024. Now, after issuance of these orders, the
cumulative arrears paid to pensioners/family pensioners who have attained the age of
75 years and above, will be 100%o of the total arrears. Hence, balance arrears
of this
category of pensioners/family pensioners would be Zero.
2. All the Pension Disbursing Authorities (PDA) including banks and al

the Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDO's) in the Govt. Departments will ensure
that any extra amount of pension, family pension, gratuity and leave encashment, if
recoverable, shall be adjusted from the arrears of pension/family pension being paid
to them and only the balance amount is released.
3 It shall be the responsibility of the pension Disbursing Authorities
including Public Sector Banks, Drawing and Disbursing Officers that arrears as
detailed in para-l above, are drawn and disbursed to the pensioners and family
pensioners who have attained the age of 75 years and above, in the month of October,
2024.
