<Note>
*1 “On Machine” means the control program is written into the controller installed in the machine.

*2 “Office” means the control program is written directly into the controller without a machine in the
office.

*3 The computer side connector of the Handy Checker Harness is the

Serial Port (RS232C). Therefore, if your computer doesn’t have the
serial port, buy the cable that converts USB to the serial port (RS232C)
in the computer shop. It cannot be supplied from KOBELCO.

*4 You can use the harness Type A&B or C without Transformer. In that case, you need to prepare the
transformer which can create 24V from your original power source (for example, AC –DC converter.).
As shown in Section 4-2, C2

4-3. Writing Control Program

Write the control program into the controller according to the below procedure after connecting the
computer and necessary parts with the controller or a machine.

1) Turn ON the key switch of the machine or the transformer.

The communication error is displayed in the cluster gauge when writing it on the machine.

2) Double-click the “me103900.exe” installed in 4-1 to activate the Handy Checker.

3) Click [Help(H)] – [About HandyChecker…] on the tool bar to confirm the Handy Checker.
(Version 3.0.0 is the latest as of Feb. 2009.)

6) Confirm whether the indication of the “Communication speed” is the below states.
< Note for Type B Controller >
You should change the “Speed change”
column to 57600 when writing the program
into the Type-B controller though the below
values are indicated in Type-A and Type-C
controller automatically.

Type-A 19200
Type-B 57600
Type-C 57600

7) Click [Reference] button on the Download window, and select the control program.

< Reference >

The control program file name is shown as below.

9) Writing the control program is completed when the message of "Written completion" is displayed.

If the red color message such as "Writing fail" or "A receiving wrong point occurred" is displayed,
confirm the connection of the harness connector and the disconnection in the harness wire, and
retry from 4).

When writing fails though there are no problems in the harness and the connection, there is a
possibility of the controller failure.

10) Turn OFF the key switch of the machine or the transformer, and disconnect all harness from the
machine or controller.
If you have removed the fuse for the ECU from the fuse box of the machine before you start writing
the control program, return it to the original position.
