OBJECTIVES

14
OBJECTIVES

✔ To identify the factors that has contributed to the success of both teams.
✔ To identify areas where the two teams can learn from each other.
✔ To identify key strengths and weaknesses of each team across different formats
(Tests, ODIs, T20Is).
✔ To identify areas for improvement in batting, bowling, and fielding.

15
SCOPE & CHALLENGES

16
SCOPE

A historical performance can provide insights into their relative strengths and weaknesses
over time. A current form can provide insights into their relative strengths and
weaknesses at a given point in time. A performance in different playing conditions can
provide insights into their adaptability and versatility. A team dynamic can provide
insights into their strengths and weaknesses in terms of leadership, teamwork, and
morale. A players can provide insights into their relative strengths and weaknesses in
different positions and disciplines.

CHALLENGES

 Data availability and comparability: It can be challenging to find comprehensive

and comparable data on the two teams. For example, the two countries have different
cricket cultures and playing conditions. This can make it difficult to compare the
performance of the two teams in a meaningful way.

 Subjectivity and bias: It can be difficult to avoid subjectivity and bias in a

comparative study of two teams. For example, a researcher from India may be more
likely to focus on the Indian team's strengths and downplay its weaknesses.
Conversely, a researcher from Australia may be more likely to focus on the Australian
team's strengths and downplay its weaknesses.

 Complexity: A comparative study of two top cricket teams is a complex task. There
are many factors to consider, such as the teams' historical performance, current form,
playing conditions, team dynamics, and player comparison. It can be challenging to
synthesize all of this information into a coherent and insightful analysis.

17
RESEARCH & METHODOLOGY

18
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research has to proceed systematically in the already planned direction with the help of a
number of steps in sequence to make the research systemized the researcher has to adopt
certain methods. The method adopted by the researcher for completing the project is called as
Research Methodology.

Research is a systematic process of identifying the problems, defining the problems,

identifying the variables/ indicators to address these problems, collecting, compiling,
processing and analysing data to assess the inherent characteristics of the phenomenon under
study and to identify the objective basis for arriving at a correct/reliable decision.

A Research design is the arrangement of condition for collection and analysis of data in a
manner that aims to combine relevance to the research purpose with economy in procedure.
A Research is purely and simply the framework and plan for the study that guides the
collection and analysis of data. It is a blue print that is followed in completing a study.

We can say describe research as follows:

1. Research is an art of scientific investigation.

2. Research is a process of systematic study.

3. Research is a search of knowledge.

4. Research is an area of investigation which includes collection, analysis and Interpretation.

1. Primary Data: -
The main data of the study were collected from questionnaires. Primary data is collected
through statistical calculation and analysis processes. This is a somewhat precise method
followed to obtain certain results. To obtain primary data directly from the respondents, a
structured questionnaire in the form of an online survey was used. The specific technology,
called "Google Forms," allows anyone to construct their unique question structure and
quickly post it online.

19
The primary data will be collected through an online survey. The survey will be conducted on
a sample size of 60 respondents who are regular users of Flipkart and Amazon. The survey
will include questions related to their shopping behaviour, preferences, and satisfaction level
with the platform.

2. Secondary Data: -

The process of collecting secondary data is much easier than collecting primary data. The
information here has been gathered using sources already available. Data was collected from
external sources through published research papers and case studies available online. This
study also used secondary data such as published research papers, the internet, websites, etc.

The secondary data will be collected through various sources such as company reports,
industry reports, and research papers. The secondary data will be used to analyze the market
share, marketing strategies, and competitive advantage of Flipkart and Amazon.

3. Data Collection Method: -

 Research design: Research design was exploratory in nature where self-prepared
questionnaire and Likert's scale were used for the collection and interpretation of the
data.
 Sample size: The sample size of this research is 60 respondents.
 Sampling elements: the individual respondents were the sampling elements. All
individual respondents are of the age 20-35 years and out of which most of the
respondents are students this sample group is selected because customers of this age
group are more active on internet.

20
Methods of Data Analysis and Statistical Techniques:

 Analytical tools used for visualization:

1) Tableau: Tableau is primarily used for data visualization and business intelligence as
a way of sharing and analysing information. Tableau is a suite of products comprised of
desktop, public, online, server and reader tools that streamline the visualization and
sharing of data.

2) Excel: Excel is a spreadsheet application used to analyse and explore your data so you
can make the best decisions.

 Collect data:
Collect the data from relevant sources, such as transactional databases or external data
sources.

 Clean and transform data:

Use Excel or Tubule data preparation tools to clean and transform the data as needed,
such as removing duplicates, handling missing values, or creating calculated columns.
Create data models: Use Excel and Tableau data modelling tools to create relationships
between tables, define measures and hierarchies, and create custom calculations using
DAX.

 Design reports and visualizations:

Excel and Tableau report design tools to create visualizations that best represent the data
and answer the research question. Choose the appropriate type of visualizations, such as
bar charts, line charts, or maps, based on the nature of the data and the research question.

21
 Analyze data:
Analyze the data using the visualizations created in step 5. Identify patterns and trends in
the data and use them to draw conclusions about the research question. Interpret results:
Interpret the results and draw conclusions about the data analysis.

 Discuss findings:
Discuss the findings and implications of the research. Consider the limitations of the
study and suggest future research.

The main statistical tool used for the analysis of data is Graphical Analysis.

 Graphical Analysis:
Graphical analysis is a graphical depiction of data using charts, figures, and graphs.

The types of graphs used for analysis and visualization are:

1. Bar Charts

2. Clustered Bar Charts

3. Pie Charts

4. Donut Charts

5. Column Charts

6. Line Charts

7. Scatter Plots

22
Key concepts and Definitions:

1. Bar Chart: - Data that's arranged in columns or rows on a worksheet can be

plotted in a bar chart. Bar charts illustrate comparisons among individual items. In a
bar chart, the categories are typically organized along the vertical axis, and the values
along the horizontal axis.

2. Clustered Bar Charts: - A clustered bar chart shows bars in 2-D format.

3. Pie Charts: - Data that's arranged in one column or row on a worksheet can be
plotted in a pie chart. Pie charts show the size of items in one data series, proportional
to the sum of the items. The data points in a pie chart are shown as a percentage of the
whole pie.

4. Donut Charts: - Data that's arranged in columns or rows only on a worksheet can
be plotted in a donut chart.

5. Column Charts: - Data that’s arranged in columns or rows on a worksheet can be

plotted in a column chart. A column chart typically displays categories along the
horizontal (category) axis and values along the vertical (value) axis.

6. Line Charts: - Data that's arranged in columns or rows on a worksheet can be

plotted in a line chart. In a line chart, category data is distributed evenly along the
horizontal axis, and all value data is distributed evenly along the vertical axis.

7. Scatter Plots: - It represents data points on a two-dimensional plane or on a

Cartesian system.

23
LIMITATIONS

24
LIMITATIONS

 Analysing only matches from January 2023 to December 2023 offers a snapshot,
neglecting historical context and long-term trends.

 Analysing all formats together masks format-specific strengths and weaknesses.

 Statistics alone cannot capture the influence of external factors like weather, injuries,
player fatigue, and home/away advantage

 The choice of statistical models and metrics can influence the interpretation of data.

 Analysing data too closely can lead to overfitting, where the model performs well on
the training data but fails to generalize to new scenarios.

 Interpretation of data and suggestions for improvement involve subjective judgment.

FINDINGS & SUGGESTIONS

42
FINDINGS

Indian Cricket Team:

Strengths: Strong batting line-up with consistent performers like Virat Kohli and
Rohit Sharma. Adaptability to different formats showcased by wins in all three
formats.

Weaknesses: Inconsistent fielding unit. Relatively inexperienced fast bowling

compared to Australia's.

Australian Cricket Team:

Strengths: Dominant pace bowling attack spearheaded by Pat Cummins and Mitchell
Starc. Strong fielding unit with athletic catches and smart ground fielding.

on turning pitches.

43
SUGGESTIONS

India:

Invest in fast bowling development programs to find reliable pacers.

Focus on improve the fielding unit.

Australia:

Explore batting options beyond Warner and Labuschagne to build depth.

Analyze vulnerabilities against spin bowling and strategize accordingly.

44
CONCLUSION

45
CONCLUSION

The Indian and Australian cricket teams are two of the most successful teams in
the world. They have both won the Cricket World Cup multiple times and have
produced some of the greatest players in the history of the game.

How the two teams compare, India has a slight edge in terms of batting, while
Australia has a slight edge in terms of bowling and fielding. However, both
teams are very evenly matched and there is little to separate them overall. How
the two teams perform against each other, the rivalry between India and
Australia is one of the most intense in cricket. The two teams have a long
history of playing against each other and the matches are always very
competitive.

Overall, the Indian and Australian cricket teams are two of the best teams in the
world. They are both evenly matched and the matches between them are always
very competitive. The factors that influence the outcome of matches between
the two teams include form, conditions, and home advantage.
