 Foreword

As a practitioner of the African Diaspora Religions and Traditions, the

concept of an “attunement” was totally unfamiliar to me. So, whenever that
word would appear, my attention toward the topic disappeared. Then, after
having met O. December Derry (Ember) a few years ago, she briefly
explained the concept to me. To my de light, it turned out to be a very simple
description that anyone, even an old hard-headed mule such as myself, could
understand!

Throughout the years, I’ve developed a great fondness for Ember because she
is an honest woman with a great sense of integrity. She frequently speaks of
her frustrations toward people who deceitfully sell certain types of products,
to innocent buyers, in exchange for tons of money. Her annoyance has
always been consistent as she vehemently protests: “Why are people buying
something that they can easily produce for themselves”? The products being
sold? Attunements to Spirits.

Although the concept seems complicated, after having read: Creating

Attunements to Spirits, it was surprising to learn that I have been
participating in the act of spiritual attunements almost every single day of my
life. All my prayers and petitions to God, the Saints, my spirit guides, African
deities, etc., are communicative interactions. Thus, once a person
communicates with a spirit, it is an attunement.

Common sense dictates that it doesn’t take a seasoned metaphysical

practitioner to initiate that process for their prospective buyers. One can
obviously attune to spirits for themselves, and Ember teaches her readers how
to do so. She provides a multitude of various methods and, most importantly,
how to do so in a safe manner. As an added bonus, she provides prayers, as
well as numerous sigils (if you wish to utilize them) to assist us in the process
toward successful results.
What do you have to provide in return? Not money, but just plain simple
confidence!

 What are Attunements to Spirits?

It’s a popular concept that has taken the esoteric world by storm in recent
years. It’s always in the buzz of social media groups geared toward occult
magick. But what are they? They spring from the core concept of Reiki
attunements.

An attunement, traditionally, is a Reiki term referring to a sacred experience

where a Reiki Master opens up a student's energy path ways so the student
can better connect to the Universal Life Force En ergy (this is the literal
translation of the word Reiki) from which all Reiki practitioners draw. The
student learns how to use Reiki energy for the greater good and, ideally, will
then be a Reiki Master them selves and will go on to teach others.
This process of passing knowledge is synonymous with the term initiation,
because the student is initiated into a Reiki legacy, passing from master to
student. It is an open system of initiation known as a current whereby anyone
who has been attuned to the Reiki (or Universal Life Force Energy) current
can then attune anyone else to the Reiki current. It was never a system meant
to be centralized or controlled. This may be where some of the confusion lies,
because in the parlance of Reiki, an initiation requires an initiator who has
already been initiated, which seems logical.

As Reiki practice has gotten more and more popular, Reiki prac titioners
started learning to attune to various energy concepts. There are many online
Reiki shops that sell countless attunements, from crystal energies, to tree
energies, to planet energies to space alien energies. Anything you could hope
to attune to, it’s probably out there somewhere. These websites typically have
an affordable online Reiki course. Once completed, you can then purchase
these additional en ergy currents, or attunements.

At some point, in the occult community, attunements suddenly came to mean

a direct energy connection to a specific spirit, and the term spirit attunement
was soon its own practice. Due to the extreme similarity of energy movement
that one learns when working with Reiki, the practice was relatively easy to
adapt from existing models. Spirits are, after all, energy beings, each with
their own energy signature. It would seem that the word initiation is no
longer appropriate because there is no legacy of connections being passed
master-to-student.

There is no ritualistic, traditional, or curricular organizing body conferring

the title of Master to anyone, except for those who have given themselves the
title, but they aren’t teaching the lineage or technique to those they initiate.

After this direct energy concept was realized, people started monetizing it and
thus, connections to spirits started showing up for sale in online marketplaces
and private websites as Attunements or Spirit Attunements.

The idea is that you are attuned to the signature energy of a specific spirit or
angel of choice, giving the magician a direct line of contact to that spirit’s
abilities, help, guidance, and areas of expertise. This connection allows a
person to utilize their spirit of choice with out the need of a book, spell
casting process or ceremony. In theory,
the seller is setting the connection up for you in advance then sending you a
set of instructions so that you can energetically and spiritually grab hold of
that connection.

Unfortunately there is no real way to prove that the work was done. Your
only option is to believe that the person was honest and did the work.

Once word gets out about the release of a new magick novelty to make one’s
practice more instant it draws attention; there is a huge buzz, online groups
start forming around the sellers, and the ensuing popularity puts those
witches and wizards in the spotlight. Today you can find a multitude of
people selling attunements to spirits. But two big questions remain: How
does one learn this craft, and why isn’t anybody teaching others how to create
attunements to spirits?
 The Harsh Truth of Buying Attunements
In an effort to keep sales high there are many social-media-sorcerers who
would like you to believe that you need a middle-man to create spirit
attunements. The reality is that they are only selling you dependency on them
for your spiritual progress. They aren’t selling empowerment, which is at the
heart of esoteric practice. If they were, then they’d be the first to tell you how
easy it is to create attunements, and that you should really be doing them for
yourself. The connections you create for yourself are stronger; you can
connect to any spirit you desire, whenever you desire, and it doesn’t need to
cost you a dime.

This publication will present the information necessary to create your own
attunements. Several effective methods for creating attunements will be
provided and explained. Hopefully one of them will ring true for you and
your practice. Section two is a wonderful selection of information on twenty
spirits, complete with their sigils, as well as three bonus sigils, so you can
start practicing creating your own attunements and enhancing your life with
Divine guidance right away!

The intention of this book is to empower you to take charge of your spiritual
life; realizing that you are the ultimate authority in that arena. You don’t need
someone else to set up an attunement for you. You already possess
everything you need to work this magickal tech nique and bring spirits more
fully into your life.

Furthermore, the practice of creating spirit attunements is not reliant upon

mastery of psychic powers, participation in a special group, being born into a
magickal lineage or spiritual succession. We are all spirits having a human
experience during this life, and it is everyone’s birthright to have unfettered
access to the realms of spirit in an effort to help us navigate this Earthly
journey.

The problem with purchasing attunements from an online source is that what
may seem like a fantastic shortcut really isn’t one. These shops are creating
spiritual dependency, playing on others’ insecurities and doubts, and
presenting themselves as a spiritual mediator where no mediator is necessary.
This is a form of gatekeeping, noth ing more. The seller sets up a barrier to
spiritual practice and then sells a product to overcome that barrier. Their
clients clamor to buy attunements as soon as they are released with the hope
that they can, at last, be able to do magick. Then the social-media-sorcerer
comes out with a new attunement, the goal post is moved, and clients open
their pocketbooks to avoid the fear of missing out. The cycle goes on.

Some people get absolutely obsessed with purchasing attunements, convinced

they have to collect them all, as if they are trading cards, but they aren’t. In
fact, the connections to entities in the realm of spirit are free for anyone who
wishes to utilize them. They aren’t a commodity to be bought and sold.

As of the writing of this publication, there are now dozens of self proclaimed
spiritual gurus competing for spirit attunement sales at lower and lower
prices, much to the chagrin of the more established sellers. And thus, a sales
war is waged leaving would-be consumers confused as to why some
attunements are $5 while others are over $200. Are the expensive ones
better? Do the cheap ones work? What is the answer? And why isn’t anyone
teaching the technique to do this? Is it complicated? Do you need special
training?

The good news is that creating attunements is nothing fancy or complicated.

You do not need to be a highly advanced magick practitioner with dangerous
secrets and ancient knowledge. And while spirit attunements are certainly
beneficial when it comes to any magickal working, they are not mandatory
for better results. They are simply another facet of magickal practice that
anybody can employ. Magick practitioners have been forging working
relationships with spirits for centuries in all different traditions of practice.
They just weren’t called attunements.
We are all created equal. We all have a soul. We are all heard by the Divine.
We can all call on specific spirits, create our own attunements and experience
a deep and highly personal working relationship with any spirit of our choice
- God included - and there is no need to pay a broker. By design, we humans
are supposed to connect to the Divine and lean into It as a guidance system
while on the earthly plane.
The likelihood of that online shop owner actually doing any magick on your
behalf is questionable. Most are simply selling a pre-made digital download
PDF file with a set of instructions. So if the sellers aren’t doing the work,
then how do people still get results? The answer is simple. You did the
research to help you decide on a spirit you wish to attune to, or even
employed that spirit successfully in the past. You had a genuine desire to
achieve the connection to that spirit. You called out its name, maybe you
used its sigil, and you voiced your intention to connect. You actually did that
attunement all by yourself and didn’t even know it.

That’s the dirty little secret; whether you buy an attunement or do it yourself,
you’re still the one doing the work. You merely paid for a placebo. Placebos
can give you a shot of confidence, and that can be valuable, but you’re still
not getting what you thought you were paying for. Another trade secret you
should probably know about; once you have done any ritual to contact a
particular spirit, you are already attuned to that spirit. You already have an
open line of communication that you can tap into any time you wish, with no
need for ritual or a book. The more you interact with that spirit, the more it
widens that energy connection between you. Your working relationship will
only get better and stronger with continued interaction.
 You Can Do It!

Magick is not difficult to do, but people seem to believe it has to be highly
difficult or complicated in order for it to be effective or powerful.
Communing with the Divine on any level, be it prayer or ceremonial ritual, is
natural to humankind and comes easily. The way you approach your magick
is your own personal preference.

No single method is better, or more effective, than the next. What makes one
method particularly effective or powerful is the practitioner’s belief that it is,
and that can be different for each and every magician. The more you practice
and utilize your preferred techniques, the easier it is to manifest the results
you desire. Does it take a great wizard or sorcerer to contact a spirit, pose a
request, and get a result? No. It takes confidence, clarity, concentration, a
mindset of curiosity, and a want or need that drives you to perform the
request. That’s it.

Throughout history, no matter what the spiritual path or religion, there always
seems to be a social class of spiritual elite that can tap into the mystical
secrets of that tradition (the esoteric) while the common folk are, for
whatever reason, not admitted into the club. It is assumed that the masses
belong on the outside (in the exoteric), and only the official clergy of the
spiritual elite can deliver knowledge to the masses, in whatever measure they
deem appropriate. This spiritual hierarchy is a tactic to keep the general
population humble and relying on spiritual leadership.

The general masses are kept in a perpetual state of saying “I can’t do this!”,
convinced that years of specific spiritual training are needed to be able to
connect to Divinity, or that a person needs to be born with unique powers.
These assumptions have one thing in common; they’re wrong. Connection to
Divinity as natural as breathing. We are all born spiritually equal. You came
into this world with all the tools you need to connect to Divine guidance.
 It’s a Very Easy Process!

The process of creating a spirit attunement is easy and straight forward, but it
can be difficult to accept that perspective. Many people feel the connection
cannot be real if there isn’t a complicated and laborious process involved.
The human mind sometimes needs a process to help the energy flow well,
and to strengthen the belief that it will work. There’s a difference between
using a method as a tool and allowing a method to control your practice
through dogma.

A good example of this is the concept of pathworkings. When pathworkings

started to become popular in occult circles, there was (and still is) a certain
percentage of magicians who swear that path workings are bogus because
they never personally got results from that method. If you start asking some
questions, you will find that most of these magicians went forth with such a
sense of doubt and rejection of the concept that they set themselves up for
failure. They simply believed pathworkings would not work because the
concept was too easy. While holding on to that precept, one will rarely see
results of any kind from pathworkings. Meanwhile other magicians love
pathworkings and swear by them. It is a matter of belief and what flows well
with your psyche.

Not every type of magick works for every magician, because we are all
different in the way we think and approach magick. So with that in mind, this
book is going to offer you seven different methods of creating a strong
energy connection to a spirit. All of these methods are safe and work equally
as well as the next, but offer a little something different for everyone
depending on their preferred approach.

One method may appeal to you more than the others, or maybe a few are
highly intriguing. Maybe these methods inspire you to experiment on your
own. The key to any successful magickal working is confidence, a little logic,
and then to move forward and actually do the work. Know that you are heard
by the spirits; know that the magick is in motion.
 Tips on Selecting a Spirit

The first thing you need to do when creating an attunement to a spirit is to

select a spirit to attune to. This does not need to be a daunting task,
intimidating, confusing, or difficult. Many will already have some favorite
angels or spirits in mind.

For those who are unsure as to how to select a spirit or angel, it makes sense
to start by selecting a spirit that matches your energy and intent. Some angels
work a little more subtly and you may not really sense a huge presence.
These types of angels are generally the type to work silently in the
background, so to speak, and that have gentle energies ideal for self work,
ascension, and all things related to emotional, spiritual, and intellectual
growth.

Some angels have a gentle but more direct energy that is somewhat stronger,
such as the Angels of the Shem Hamephorash or the Angels of the Decans.
These angels are amazing for change in the real world. They are also amazing
for any kind of self improvement or shadow work, and any form of positive
change. If you want angels with a more powerful punch and a more regal
feel, then an archangel could be considered.

Have you heard of something called dark magick? I assure you it is safe and
not evil in the least. It is magick that allows you to make your own choices on
whatever magick you choose to exercise, based on free will. There are spirits
that many people consider to be dark for similar reasons, and a great example
are the Spirits of the Goetia, these spirits are unique angels who are
energetically closer to our earthly realm. They approach their work for us in a
swift and almost explosive way at times. They are powerhouses that are
dialed into all aspects of life on the earthly plane and provide energy that
many confuse as dark. And naturally, once the word dark gets applied to
some thing related to magick, it somehow becomes equated with something
deeply evil.
For the purpose of clarification, the magickal word referring to magick of a
deeply evil nature is black, and that is absolutely not advised, nor will any
kind of black magick be taught in this publication, or any in the future by this
author. Many people refer to the Spirits of the Goetia as demons, which is
another reason they assume the worst. Let’s spend just a moment discussing
these amazing spirits, as they are so misunderstood in the occult
communities.

Many traditions call these spirits demons, but the word demon has become
skewed in modern times. Originally these spirits were called daemons, which
simply means spirit or teaching spirit. There was once a time when all angels
were referred to as daemons. In the second century BCE with the translation
of the Hebrew Bible into the Greek Septuagint, this word began to morph
into demon and came to mean highly evil spirit. By the fourth century CE,
with the commissioning of the Latin Vulgate, the mistake was set in stone.
This is why the author of this book will only use the term Spirits of the
Goetia, as to avoid confusion with anything evil or highly negative.

The spirits of the Goetia are a type of angel and, like any other angel, will
carry out a request without judgment. If you task them to do something, they
will do it. Their job is not to act as some kind of moral behavior referee. That
is where some confusion lies. Misunderstanding their nature, people have
come to use them as attack or battle spirits, and their dark reputation became
tradition. That magickal tradition carried the general assumption that they are
evil spirits. If they carried out evil actions, it was due to the evil intent of the
human employing these spirits. Magick is only as dangerous as the human
who casts it.

If you are still uneasy regarding this group of spirits, then the time is
probably not right for you to work with them yet. Try again when you feel
you are ready. For some people, they are just too weird, overwhelming, and
direct to work with. But make no mistake, these spirits are angels. They have
our best interest at heart and that is part of the reason they are so effective.
They just tend to “git-er-dun.”

Many magicians feel that the Spirits of the Goetia need to be constrained by
angels in order to be safe. This is not true. They are just very powerful and
rapid in their response. Constraint by other angels more or less regulates and
softens the energy so it’s a little easier to deal with on our end. The key to not
being overwhelmed when work ing with Spirits of the Goetia is to simply ask
that they keep their energy dialed down to a volume that is easy and
delightful for you to engage in. Ask that they match your pace, so their
magickal influence doesn’t leave you feeling like a cowboy whose foot is
caught in the stirrup of a horse galloping at full speed.

Some mistake this raw power and swift action as “dark” or “evil,” which it
isn’t. This is the nature of how they work. They do not coddle or sugarcoat.
They are more like rip-the-bandage-off kind of spirits. They have no issues
bubbling up all of your inner sludge in order to detoxify you and make you
better. Working with them will tend to purge you of all that holds you back.
This purge effect is why some people assume that backlash is occurring for
working with a spirit of the Goetia. It’s not backlash. They are most likely
stirring up embedded garbage that you need to deal with and release.

For those of you who don’t like being taught to swim by being thrown in the
deep end, a simpler approach (and quite honestly a more comfortable
approach) is to simply tell the spirit that you understand how powerful they
are, and how impacting they can be on the physical realm. Request that they
please keep their response at a level that you can handle, and that will not
catch you off guard or cause any kind of overwhelming disruption.

This does not mean you should tone down your workings. You should always
communicate your desires honestly and with your whole being. Never hold
back! Projecting intense desire in this fashion is a way for us to communicate
with them. But the spirits do not need to respond with equal intensity,
because they are considerably more powerful than humans. Their intensity
outweighs ours, which is why it sometimes feels as if we need to constrain
them or call forth protective forces.

Foregoing the use of thwarting angels and simply stating your desires is a
wonderful way to start a working relationship, as it communicates
boundaries, comfort levels, and helps find a nice middle ground for the task
you are requesting. They don’t get insulted by such requests. Remember, they
are there to help and teach. If they see a teaching moment, they will rip that
bandage right off to get your attention. This is the default mode of the Spirits
of the Goetia, but they are absolutely capable of being gentle, so just request
it.

This isn’t meant to be scary or worry you. It’s exhilarating, because

everybody has equal spiritual importance, and equal access to powerful
angels. Engaging in this form of magick will liberate you in ways you never
dreamed possible, and some of those spirits are so eager to respond that you
really need to brace yourself. It’s a good thing. Just remember that you call
the shots and they will take your work direction when it comes to the
intensity volume knob.

No matter what spirit you choose to attune to, sometimes this approach can
give a new practitioner the simple peace of mind needed in order to make
attunements a lot of fun without panic or overthinking. So feel free to just get
in the habit of working it into your requests if you are concerned. A more
advanced practitioner may not feel this need. Again, there is no right or
wrong, as long as it resonates with you.

Just listen to your heart as to what angels to attune to, and how to work with
them. The ones that really catch your attention may actually be asking to
work with you. For those who do not have any of the instant magick books,
please refer to the back of this book for excellent resources on angels and
spirits. All books listed are affordable and can be purchased off Amazon.
 Evil Entities

Just don’t. Why would you be tempted to? Are you trying to curse or hex
somebody with the nastiest and foulest spirit you can conjure up? Please
rethink this strategy. Anything truly evil has no desire to help a human, and
will not. Further, do you feel it’s a good idea to energetically tether yourself
to it permanently? Again, please rethink this strategy.

Don’t kid yourself. You will not be able to control a truly evil spirit. You are
not a hero in a movie. It will not end well for you. Evil spirits will not serve
you, nor will they do your bidding in the way you expect. It is hubris that
amounts to naught but dangerous ego stroking. Here’s some direct advice: If
you honestly feel that you need to do some sort of revenge magick, or toss a
hex at your enemy, there are plenty of ways to take care of business using
angels. If you were truly wronged, then balancing the karmic scales is
allowed, but that is your own personal decision and should not be taken
lightly. In the face of injustice angels can be pretty wrathful, but they won’t
deliver more punishment than a person deserves.
There are much better ways to address situations than to hex or curse. An
upright approach (and that can mean a creative approach) is always better and
can be much more powerful. It’s possible that a book on this kind of creative
magickal strategy will be published in the future, but for now please use the
knowledge and techniques in this book to increase wealth, develop skills,
conduct life-changing magick, dive into shadow work, overcome the things
which hold you back in life, protect yourself and your loved ones, and
discover your own spiritual path and gifts through the wonders of working
directly with Divine beings.

But what about angels or spirits that are traditionally used for cursing or
harming others? Here is a challenge for you: It’s known that every spirit is a
high expert in a specific topic/area, or even a few. For every area of expertise
that applies to a spirit, it will also be equally an expert at the exact opposite of
those areas. Remember, just because humans traditionally used them for evil,
does not mean they are evil spirits.
For those who are interested, try to imagine what the opposite of those dark
abilities are. Take some time to ponder this, or even ask the spirit directly
how to use them for the positive. Rest assured they will be thrilled to engage
in positive and uplifting tasks rather than negative or harmful. They do not
judge, and will do as asked, but it does not mean they actually enjoy being
used by one human to harm another human.

An example would be the 41st Spirit of the Goetia; Forcalor. This spirit is
most popularly used to curse and hex enemies. He can cause death, bring and
worsen illness, and destroy a competitor’s business, among other hexing
areas of expertise. It seems a little daunting to imagine wanting an attunement
to this spirit!

Think outside the box for a moment. If he is an expert in causing death, then
he is also going to be an expert in protection from death. If he can bring and
worsen illness, he can speed up healing from illness. If he can destroy a
person’s business by magick, it also stands to reason that he can assist in
building a business that cannot easily be destroyed by magick.

Working with dark spirits for the greater good is a way you can get truly
creative with your shadow work. They are amazing at taking a proverbial
approach to their dark powers, applying their areas of expertise to your
psyche, and ultimately assisting you with personal healing and ascension.
They can help you examine your faults and your own personal “demons” to
assist you in fighting those battles and coming out victorious. Yes, they are
often known as battle demons, so let them help you fight your own personal
battles. They love to fight for the greater good, rather than mediating petty
drama between humans.

They are of high intelligence, they know strategy, and they understand human
emotions. The hidden uses for spirits of the Goetia are for self-work, not
pissing matches. Give them a try.
 Sometimes Great Magick Smarts a
Little

Sometimes when we do magick our lives seem to suddenly come unraveled.

Working with spirits by way of attunement is no different. You may find
yourself saying “Oh no! The attunements have hexed me! A ton of things are
falling apart in my life and things are frustrating. Unpleasant things keep
happening. Is this backlash?”

First off, please understand that you have not been hexed, the spirits are not
turning on you or punishing you and what you are experiencing most
certainly is not backlash. This is a natural part of the process, particularly if
you have chosen to engage in heavy duty shadow work. Angels and divine
beings will not maliciously act against you. However, they may rattle your
chain a little bit to get you moving.

Sometimes doors need to shut in order for you to be shoved through a

different (and better) door. Many times upheaval and purging will occur
when one decides to do self-work. You cannot stay the same and be better at
the same time. Discomfort makes us move. Discomfort awakens us.
Discomfort forces change. When something is unpleasant, we move away
from it. Experiencing discomfort may be the first stirrings of change that you
asked for.

Open yourself to your current situation. What, exactly, is it that is in

upheaval? Is it toxic? Are you miserable? Are you with somebody who is not
a good person for you to be with? Chances are you need to move away from
something toxic, or even dangerous, for the well being and happiness of your
future self. Explore this and don’t fight it. Find a way to be at peace with
leaving a stressful situation behind you. You are being guided.

It could very well be that bandages are being ripped off and you are feeling
the sting. But fear not, have faith, and trust the spirits to guide you.
Sometimes love hurts, even divine love. Trust that you are being shifted to a
new path, and that your discomfort, pain, or agony is merely the spirits trying
to get you out of your comfort zone so that you can grow and find those open
doors.

Think of this as the Tower card in the tarot. Things are being shaken up, torn
down, and you will rebuild. Sometimes it’s hard to see when we are in the
middle of it, but keep a journal, write down all that you experience, and
eventually you will come out the other side better for it. Someday when you
review those agonizing journal entries, you will see that what you went
through was necessary for new developments and opportunities to be
embraced. Let go of ego and ride that wave of change.

Another good tarot example is that sometimes the scary Death card comes up,
but it’s not really scary. It symbolizes the death of one thing so that a rebirth
can happen, like a phoenix rising up anew from the ashes, or a field razed
before the planting.

Be sure that you aren’t making self-sabotaging decisions. Stand back, look at
your situation from a number of angles, and be honest with yourself as to
what part of it could be your own doing. This is a learning moment and
extremely valuable. Ask your spirits to help you see. Sometimes magick can
be incredibly humbling, but you will always come out the other end a better
person. Drop ego, keep an open mind, and all will be fine.
 Do I Need to Attune to Every Spirit I
Work With?

This is an interesting thing to ponder. As previously mentioned, once you do

any ritual that utilizes any kind of spirit you are al ready attuned to that entity.
A line of communication has been forged and that spirit will know exactly
how to reach you should you call to it with the intention of making a new
request of any kind.

In short, you don’t really need to attune to any spirit you have already worked
with, because you already are.

Can it really be that simple? Yes! However, many people have a hard time
believing it can be that simple and only believe that a complicated ritual will
somehow guarantee better results. In some ways this is true, as the act of
setting up an attunement in a more formal or deliberate manner is an act of
directly asking the spirit for a role of guidance and mentorship in your life,
and therefore there is a lot of value in going through the motions. It not only
delivers a very direct request to the spirit, but also signals your deep psyche
that this is an effort to be taken seriously and will help you to believe in your
own work.

If you work a ritual or spell that calls on a particular spirit, but you never
really have a need for this effort again, then it stands to reason that there is no
need to put an attunement in place. The spirit won’t care either way and
won’t be insulted, as you probably won’t really utilize an attunement to it
anyway.

Consider simply focusing on the spirits that you really wish to work with on a
regular basis and think of an attunement like you’re asking the spirit for
divine mentorship or coaching. There is value in taking the time and putting
forth the effort for a formal request for ongoing work, as it will strengthen the
connection already in place.
Think of the difference between the automatic attunement created through
ritual and a formal attunement as being similar to the difference between
raising your hand in class to ask question versus making a formal
appointment after class and asking the professor for one-on one tutoring or
mentoring in that subject.

Making the effort to create the attunement will let that spirit know that you
value its expertise and wish to interact with it, learn from it, and reap the
benefits of its divine knowledge on an ongoing basis.

You can think of working any general ritual as a try-before-you buy effort.
Let’s say you need a thing, and you dig through your stack of magick books
until you find that perfect ritual with that perfect spirit that will bring you the
specific outcome you desire. You do the ritual and it goes well. You really
felt a connection to that spirit and enjoyed the experience of having worked
that ritual, you feel good about the results and the experience. You may see
tremendous value in working with that spirit again. This is a great indicator
that you have found the right spirit to attune to.

You already know you have a good working relationship with it, it carried
out the requested task to your liking, and you look forward to working that
ritual again in the future because you see a future need. You may also feel
you could learn valuable lessons from that spirit after working with it, and
wish for an ongoing relationship. Protection spirits are another good example,
as we always need ongoing protections. If you find a spirit that you work well
with who offers the protection you need, by all means attune to that spirit so
you have easy access to its powers in the moment.

Sometimes the mere thought of a particular spirit will just naturally grab your
attention, amp you up, and make you wish you had a reason to work with it.
Have you ever experienced thoughts like this when flipping through a magick
book? This could be the spirit send ing you a message that it has something to
teach you. Explore these feelings; they are seldom wrong.
 Can I Attune to Every Spirit?

In short, you can attune to as many or as few spirits as you wish. A better
idea might be to create attunements to the spirits that you really feel you will
work with often. Why? Because if you aren’t going to utilize these
attunements then there really isn’t much point in creating them. The more
you work with a spirit, the more you broaden and strengthen the connection,
and the more you will benefit from that working relationship. You will get
more out of a few quality relationships than you will out of a great quantity of
shallow relationships.

You will get more meaning, wisdom, and sheer enjoyment out of developing
a connection with a particular spirit and you can explore more aspects of that
spirit as time passes. Select the spirits that make the most sense and that you
foresee working with often. If you are out to “collect ‘em all” like trading
cards, you will be putting in a lot of time and effort into setting up
attunements you really aren’t going to use, and probably will eventually lose
track of what attunements you created.
If you journal your attunements, after a while you will find yourself digging
through stacks of notes to find what spirit you attuned to for what reason, and
that will be much like digging through your magick books to decide on a
ritual to work, which negates its usefulness as a time-saving tool.

You may as well use a simple ritual if you are going to utilize a particular
spirit once. If you feel that simply putting hundreds of attunements in place
will ensure that you have a host of heavenly servants looking for things to fix,
it doesn’t work that way. You will still need to communicate and work with
them for the change you desire. Asking them to do something once for one
situation does not mean they will be permanently doing that thing the rest of
your life for every situation. You still need to ask them to intervene or they
cannot because doing so may impinge on your free will, attunement or no.

While attunements are just about the easiest form of magick you will
encounter, you will still need to be present and engaged on your end for any
change you wish to make in your life. You must be willing to communicate
those requests as well as do your work in the mundane. It’s still a divine
system for change that you need to be part of for continued success, and is
largely what you make of it.
 Attunements to Spirits are Safe

Sometimes when a person is inexperienced, it is very easy to mistake

magickal concepts for something dark or dangerous. Many times these fears
stem from previous religious beliefs or even Holly wood produced movies
involving the supernatural or paranormal. Sometimes it’s simply a fear of the
unknown. Many times the question comes up, “Isn’t this attunement stuff the
same as being possessed? It sounds like possession!”

No, it is not possession. It’s not even invocation. You are not inviting a spirit
into your body to totally take over and do as they please. You can be certain
of your safety by never creating attunements to evil or unknown entities,
because that would just be foolhardy. Included in this warning would also be
to refrain from attunements to other people’s servitors, tulpas, egregors,
spirits of dead humans, incubi, succubi, etc. When other people create
servitors and the like you can never be sure of that person’s intent. You might
think you’re at tuning to a spirit to help with your sex life and what you’re
really getting is a spirit designed to make you a loyal customer. You just
never know for sure unless you do the work yourself.

If you are attuning to Divine beings, they will always have your best interest
at heart. Angels are tasked with helping us without judgment, and you are
only requesting that an energy line be put in place so that you can say their
name and know that they hear you. It is through this direct connection that
they can send you their goodness, their expertise, their divine energy, and
their assistance in an instant rather than you having to dig through books to
find a sigil and a method, go through a working, and stress on it, as many of
us tend to do. Attunements are really a matter of convenience. An energetic
form of speed dial, if you will.

When creating attunements to angels you are not going to be attuning to

anything that will harm you. Nothing is going to haunt you and nothing will
plague your life. Angels are extensions of the Divine, their job is to assist
God in assisting us. They do not need you to give justification for the things
you request of them. They are messengers, guides and helpers.

This magick technique is absolutely safe and worry-free as long as you are
attuning to angels, celestial beings, and aspects of the Divine. You are
responsible for your own spiritual well being, so act responsibly.

However, for those of you who feel the need to have some extra protections
in place, or are nervous for any reason, some simple protection measures
have been provided in the next section. You can employ these protection
techniques at the time you create an attunement.
 Safety Measures

Creating attunements does not require you to engage in protective measures,

as you are requesting a direct line of communication to a spirit that you wish
to work with on a regular basis. Setting up protections against them is like
saying you do not trust the spirit but you still want its benefits. You can see
how it’s a bit of a mixed message.
However, it is understood that there are some people out there who wish to
employ a simple safety effort to put their mind at ease for use during the
process. This section is for those who fit into this mindset.

For those with a Wicca or witchcraft background, consider casting a circle as

you do for any ritual, or use a salt circle. Think of this as creating a private
sacred space to do your attunement working and think of it as a place where
you can invite your spirit of choice to join with you while keeping all other
spirits out of the effort.

If you wish to evoke the God and Goddess to honor your union with
whichever spirit you are attuning to, start by preparing/creating your sacred
space, then work your opening ritual of choice however you normally start
any magickal working, evoke the God/Goddess, get in the correct frame of
mind, and then use this setting where time stands still, you are between the
worlds, and you can work uninterrupted with intense focus to communicate
your desire and create your attunement.

For those who are not of a Wicca or witchcraft background, a very fast and
powerful form of protection magick is simply reading Psalm 91 out loud and
state that you wish to keep all other spirits out of the effort you are about to
partake in, so that it remains a private matter between you and the spirit you
plan to attune to. Again, this step isn’t necessary, but if it feels right to do it,
then please feel free to engage in either of these methods.

Psalm 91 - King James Bible

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under
the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in

him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the

Last, if you enjoy the simplistic approach of sigil scans, here is a seal that can
be used for protections. It includes the Divine names SHADDAI,
TAFTAFYAH, and the angels YOHACH, KOLACH, and ACHATRIEL.

Chant each name three times while maintaining a soft gaze on the seal. Ask
that Divine protections be delivered while you engage in creating an
attunement. Keep it present while you create your attunement.
 Method One: Reiki Energy Method

In Reiki, attunements (also known as initiations or empowerments) are a

crucial aspect of the Reiki training process. They are con ducted by a Reiki
Master to open and align the energy channels of a student, enabling them to
connect with and channel Reiki energy.

During an attunement, the Reiki master serves as a conduit for the Universal
Life Force Energy, thus facilitating the flow of this energy to the student.
This process is thought to cleanse and balance the energy centers (or chakras)
of the student, therefore enhancing their ability to feel, recognize and channel
Reiki energy for healing purposes.

For a Reiki practitioner, attunements are often considered a sacred and

transformative experience. They can lead to increased sensitivity to energy,
spiritual growth, and a deepening connection with Reiki principles.

There are now many different Reiki traditions and lineages. For the purposes
of this book and attuning to spirits, you do not need to study Reiki unless it is
of interest to you. There is benefit in doing so and an inexpensive option
would be to find an online class. They are offered on myriad teaching
platforms and Reiki practitioner web sites. You will learn to feel energies in a
non-intimidating and fun way that isn’t scary or frightening. It can be a good
way to get your feet wet with very little risk and plenty of reward.

Experimenting with Reiki and even the various types of Reiki attunements
will enable you to be able to create your own attunements, including
attunements to spirits, by combining these concepts with your magick
practice. Use your energy flow method of choice for contacting the spirits,
ask permission to feel and channel their energies, and from there, you will be
on your way to all the direct spirit attunements you want!

If a spirit says “No” to your attunement request, understand that it knows and
sees what you cannot. You may not be ready to work with it yet, or it may not
want to work with you. Respect any boundaries set by spirits and don’t try to
force the situation. Simply find a different spirit that may be better suited for
your current situation and needs. You’ll know if a spirit does not want to
work with you when you either receive a direct communication to that effect
or if you get a feeling that is undeniable warning you or deterring you. Most
of the time this is simply because you’re not ready to work with that spirit
right now, and it’s worthwhile to try again later.

Do not take this personally. The spirits don’t. They have your best interest at
heart. Their purpose is to help guide and assist us humans navigate this
Earthly life, so never be afraid to ask. Rarely will you feel you are receiving a
“no” answer, but when you do, trust that it’s in your best interests.
 Method Two: Servitor Method

Are you a fan of servitor magick? It is a wonderful way to make contact with
spirits and set up those connections.
Consider creating a servitor team that would go out and find the spirit you
wish to work with. It can ask the spirit on your behalf if they would be
willing to “be on call” with an energy line that will serve as a direct line of
communication. If the spirit is willing, then the second servitor in the team
then attaches an energy line to you and to the spirit so that it could easily be
called when you say its name, no book or ritual needed.

These servitors can take any meaningful form you wish, and you can assign
names that make most sense. Keep it simple, and keep their purpose direct.

You can even create a visual in your mind as to what that energy cable may
look like. Maybe it’s a tin-can-and-twine phone. Maybe it’s a thin wire.
Maybe it’s exclusive like the phone line between the White House and
Moscow. Maybe you visualize a pulsing line of energy that crosses time and
space. Your imagination is the limit when it comes to how you wish to create
your servitors and how you personally feel the communication works.
Understand that this visual is just that: a visual that is really amazing for
getting your mind to accept and believe in this system. The spirit does not
need the visual, it really just needs to be asked for its guidance and know that
you desire to work with it.

Servitor magick is very simple, and very effective. The energy comes from
you and is loyal to you. It will never fail you because you created it.

The easiest way to put this system into motion is to call your servitors into
action, give them instructions as to which spirit to approach and speak to, and
maybe even have that spirit’s sigil out so the servitors can more easily
connect with it.

 Method Three: Using Your Magick
Books

Do you have any of the instant magick books that provide a means of
working magick quickly and easily through either sigil scans or
pathworkings? It’s as simple as any other time you use the book to make a
request for a need.

All you need is a book that lists specific, individual spirits, figure out which
spirit in that book you would like to be attuned to, and work the ritual or
pathworking as you normally do. For the request, you simply ask that spirit to
mentor and guide you through an energy connection so that you always have
instant access to it when you say its name.

That’s it. Just ask. That’s what you do when you want any kind of result, isn’t
it? Just ask for what you want. And in this case you ask the spirit for a direct
attunement connection for the purpose of magickal workings, as well as
learning/ guidance/mentorship. References to some very popular and
effective instant magick books are noted in the back of this book.
 Method Four: Make a Book

There are a couple of good books out there that give instructions on how to
do this with very specific spirits. The most well known would be Magickal
Cashbook by Damon Brand that utilizes the genius spirit Nitika. This book
teaches you how to construct your own book, gives you the colors and sigils
to use, and the instructions on how to use the book once you create it.

Another great example of this is The Book of Agares by S. Connolly, which

is a bit darker of a process, a little more detailed, and will help you work
directly with the Goetic spirit Agares.

Making a magical book is something anyone can do. Go to a craft store and
find a blank sketchbook or blank journal with a cover that can easily be
painted on. Select the appropriate colors and sigils for the spirit you wish to
work with. Paint the cover of the book and spend some time putting the sigil
on the front and back cover. Inexpensive acrylic craft paint is fine for this
purpose. You can also designate a silk scarf (or any organic/natural fabric) to
protect the book when not in use.

Once you create the book how you wish, on the first page write a
pathworking, Enn, or even a poem that you compose for that spirit. Dedicate
the book by anointing with your favorite sacred oil, reading Psalms 91 & 92,
or consecrating it per your tradition so that it is designated as a magick tool
specifically for communicating with the spirit you made it for.

Use one page per request. You can write in it like a letter to that spirit
directly, or write your requests and thoughts in whatever way makes most
sense for you. You can also use the book to journal thoughts and experiences
related to that spirit. This process will absolutely honor that spirit and become
an intimate form of communication.

A variation of this method would be to write a letter to the spirit you wish to
attune to. You can keep it as simple and direct as writing the spirit’s name,
and request that it attunes you to its energies, enabling you to work with it at
will. Thank the spirit for granting you this attunement, and sign your name. It
would be perfectly acceptable to state what areas of your life you are
requesting help with, what you would like to learn from it, or simply request
that it be a guide and assist you in this Earthly life.

Fold the letter up, seal inside an envelope, and write the spirit’s name along
with its sigil on the outside. You can then burn the letter if you have a safe
means of doing so. If you choose to burn it, please be safe and use a fireplace
or a structured fire pit. Be sure you do not put other people or property at any
kind of risk. There is no shame in having a fire extinguisher close at hand
either. Better safe than sorry.

Another option would be to bury your letter and ask that the Earth energies
deliver your message to the spirit you wrote the letter to. Your flower bed or
vegetable garden would be an excellent place to bury the letter.

The following two methods are for those who are a bit more advanced in
their magickal practice. They are not difficult, but could seem a little
overwhelming to the inexperienced practitioner.
 Method Five: Kabbalistic Visualization
Method

In Kabbalah every letter of the Hebrew alphabet is linked to a Path of

Illumination and/or to a sephira on the Tree of Life. It is taught that these
letters were used in the formation of the universe and in the emanation of
Divine energies from the border between existence and non-existence, to the
gradual constrictions of force and form that ultimately end up in the
condensation of energy into physical matter. We are going to use these sacred
letters to create our spirit attunements.

Jacobus G. Swart outlines this method well in The Book of Sacred Names. He
says “...each glyph of the Hebrew alphabet was, and still is, considered to be
the physical embodiment of a “divine power,” i.e. an “angel,” the
visualization of which is understood to bring about the definite influences on
the individual participating in such an action. Furthermore, there is a tradition
that the very name of an angel, or an angelic host, i.e. its actual visual
depiction in the “fiery” shapes of the Hebrew letters, comprises the body of
the angel or the angelic host. Visualizing a fully spelled out Hebrew angelic
name in your mind was considered equivalent to being in direct contact with
the actual manifestation of the associated “celestial entity” in this world.”

This may sound like a strange exercise, visualizing letters as the body of the
angel, but one of the strengths of this method lies in its abstraction. By
divorcing the experience of the angel from their historical, sentimental, or
fanciful depictions we are actually approaching the angel with a more open
mind. Remember, they don’t actually have bodies. They don’t look like us at
all. They project images of themselves into our minds as winged humans so
that it’s not frightening to us, but they can appear in any form they desire.
Abstracting their form to that of their names is not really so far-fetched. If
you believe that the letters contain within them an inherent Divine potency,
then you also believe that their judicious use can bring that potency to life.
Step 1: Quiet your mind. Do a body scan. Do some conscious breathing. Get
in the zone.

Step 2: Meditate on Tiphareth, the Sephira of Balance and Beauty. From this
Sephira all others can be reached. It is perfect equilibrium in perfect
proportion. Imagine a white light blotting out all form and thought. Feel
yourself as a part of the undifferentiated universal cosmic force. In your
mind, become the white light and experience limitlessness.

Step 3: Picture the Hebrew letters of the name of the angel you wish to
contact. Staying within that liminal space, imagine the letters forming in the
air slightly above and in front of you, such that you have to incline your head
to observe them.

Step 4: Imagine these letters on fire. Not the mundane kind of fire that
destroys, but the Divine fire of the Burning Bush that carries with it a
sentience of its own and that does not consume. Allow the fire to imbue the
letters with additional power and life. Address them as though you were in
the presence of the angel (because you are).

Step 5: Converse with the angel and ask for a permanent connection to it.

Step 6: Know that the connection is made and is at your disposal.

Variation:
To some, the use of Hebrew can be confusing or daunting. Or maybe not
even possible if you have not studied this ancient language. Angels aren’t
picky, if you like the idea of this method you can either visualize their sigil or
their spelled-out name in your native language engulfed in flames the same as
above. They will absolutely understand and respond.
 Method Six: Formal Ritual

For those who are drawn to a more formal way of working I present a short
ritual that will get those connections made and get you on your way to more
efficient magick.

If you aren’t familiar with this particular concept and/or ritual, this may not
be the method for you, and it could seem a little intimidating in its advanced
formal approach. It is assumed that if you wish to use this method, you will
already have a foundation of knowledge to understand the words and
pronunciations involved.

In this exercise you will first focus on centering yourself and raising
connection with your Neshama, or greater soul. Once there you will raise
your consciousness to the Sephira of Hod, the sphere of magick and the birth
of astral forms.

Once you are firmly operating within Hod, the act of directing energy from
Netzach to take on the desired form in Yesod is relatively easy since you will
be working with the flow of Divine energies onto the material plane. Your
job there is simply to direct and shape those forces into the entity you desire
through the use of your mental faculties.

The Kabbalistic Tree of Life is an amazingly complex symbol and there isn’t
room within these pages to delineate its mysteries, but many other authors
have accomplished this. I would recommend “Kabbalah” by Gershom
Scholem and “The Mystical Qabalah” by Dion Fortune. The former is quite
dense and thorough, the latter is a great introduction for the intermediate
practitioner who wishes to get an overview of Kabbalah.

By filling in a simple kamea with the name and/or sigil of the entity you wish
to contact you will have a focal point for your attention and your gaze during
the ritual. If the entity you’re looking to connect with has a sigil, use that. If
not you can write their name using one of the magkical alphabets; Hebrew,
Malachim, Celestial, or Passing of the River.

Begin with the Bornless Rite, an invocation designed to empower you by

invoking the Divine and claiming authority over the world of spirit. This rite
was popularized by S.L. MacGregor Mathers and Aliester Crowley in their
translation of the Greater and Lesser Keys of Solomon. It works equally well
here. You can find this ritual in the Greek Magical Papyrii (PGM).
The Bornless Rite

Sit quietly and spend some time breathing into relaxation. Feel your
consciousness expand. You may want to perform the Lesser Banishing Ritual
of the Pentagram and the Lesser Invoking Ritual of the Pentagram to balance
the forces within your body and mind.

Speak the following out loud in a sonorous voice. The Divine names in all
caps are meant to be sung, so hold out those vowels and chant them. If a
vowel has a line over it, it is meant to be drawn out. Where it says N.N.,
substitute your full name. Feel free to change the gender in the invocation to
suit your identity.

I summon you, Headless One, who created earth and heaven, who created
night and day, you who created light and darkness.

You are Osoronnophris whom none has ever seen.

Next we meditate using the famous Ana B’Koach, or Kabbalists Prayer,
which grants us connection to the different sephiroth. We can’t just jump to
the sephira we want to work with, we have to move gradually upward from
where we are to where we’d like to be. In this instance we want to get to Hod,
so we arrive there by way of contemplation on Malkuth (where we exist) and
Yesod (the world of the Astral).

This first passage connects us to our most familiar sphere, Malkuth

From here we can imagine a great torrent of energy emanating through us

from Netzach, and to that energy we can assign form. In this case we are
going to assign it the form of a permanent connection between you and the
desired entity. Just imagine a free-flowing river of energy and thought
passing between you and the desired entity. Really imagine what that entity
looks like. Slowly look over its form until you come to rest your attention on
its eyes.

Look deeply into its eyes (in your mind…don’t expect an entity to form in
front of you), and feel the connection. If it feels too intense, don’t back down
or look away. You must be strong and face the entity like an equal. The
feeling of challenge will quickly give way to the feeling of camaraderie.
When you feel you’ve connected amicably with the entity, you have, and the
ritual is complete.

Bask in the glory of this wonderful feeling and slowly come back to yourself.
Know that the connection has been forged and is forever at your disposal.
 Method Seven: When All Else Fails

Are you still finding yourself confused as to what method to use? When all
else fails, you can always take the most simplistic ap proach there is: A sigil.

Make sure you have the correct sigil for the spirit you wish to attune to. Make
sure you know the correct pronunciation of that spirit’s name.

Gaze at the sigil with an unfocused, soft gaze and chant the spirit’s name with
the intention of making contact. At some point you will sense that you have
its attention. Proceed with your request for a direct connection. That’s it.
That’s the whole method.

You are strongly encouraged to try one of the previous six methods first and
avoid the temptation to just take the easiest and least involved method. The
reason is that by using one of the previous six methods, you will put a lot of
personal focus and energy into the request, which instantly strengthens it and
shows your seriousness. It fuses you to the asking process, and personalizes it
in powerful ways.

However, some people may live in homes or even countries where they
cannot access magick books, but may be able to access an image of a sigil
online. Some individuals may need to practice in deep secrecy and not
display their magickal practice. This sigil method is for them.

If you know someone like this who needs assistance, who cannot even buy
this book, and you have mastered this form of magick, you are encouraged to
teach others. Be responsible, be thorough, encourage the most responsible of
behaviors, and help make others’ lives flow a little better with this
knowledge. This is how we improve our lives and the lives of others at the
same time.

Encouraging you to teach others does not entitle you to offer classes on these
methods for profit. This is in the spirit of paying it forward. Share the
knowledge freely. Share it with a grateful heart and the intention of
improving others' spiritual experience.
 How to Start Using the Attunement

Take a little time when you can be alone and undisturbed for about a half
hour, or more if you enjoy quiet meditation. If you live in an area or it’s a
time of year that makes sense, try to do this outdoors in a pleasant setting.
Otherwise, your favorite place for private quiet time is perfectly effective.

If possible, have the spirit’s sigil where you can see it, even in your
peripheral vision. Gazing directly at the sigil will ensure a deeper connection,
and is encouraged any time you contact the spirit in the first few days, weeks,
or even months as you are actively working with it. While this isn’t
mandatory for good results, it can be incredibly beneficial.

Take a few deep breaths and try to clear your mind. Incorporate gentle
stretching or slow easy yoga poses if you wish. If you enjoy energy work
such as Qi Gong, you could use that too. When you feel ready say, chant, or
sing the spirit’s name three times. You can use it as a mantra and meditate on
the name for as long as you feel necessary. Again, have the sigil within sight,
or gaze at it directly.

State that you accept the opportunity to connect with the spirit and create an
energy connection so that you may work with its energies and abilities, learn
from it, and improve your life. You can word this in a way that’s meaningful
to you.

If you are the type of person who likes things a little bit more ceremonial,
you could light a candle and recite the following prayer:

Oh Divine One, The Name of all names and the Light behind all light, the
First and the Last, I adjure you to grant to your servant (state your name) a
thread of pure spiritual gold that I may be joined forevermore with (state the
spirit’s name). Let (spirit’s name) never be far from me, and may they come
into my presence at the utterance of their name. Let them be a hand to guide
me and a fortress to protect me. May we grow together in spirit to carry out
Your Will, with Your Name forever on our lips, singing praises of Your
Glory. For Your kingdom endureth without end. Let it be so.

Or if you are more of the type to just get on with it, you could make a
statement of fact:
“I, (state your name), request and accept a direct energy
attunement/connection to (spirit’s name).”
Making it simple doesn’t mean you take it lightly. Make this a spiritual
moment and take the time to appreciate what you are embarking on.
Contemplate and allow yourself to be in awe of what you are doing. Open
your mind and feel the spirit’s energy mingle with yours. Feel your crown
chakra opening at the top of your head and receive this connection.

Many people will feel some kind of change in their personal energy. It may
be very slight or could be very profound. It will be a different experience for
everybody. As long as you asked for the attunement and were open to
receiving the connection, trust that it is in place. You may not be aware of the
energy change at all. Have faith that it has happened.

In the following hours or even days, you may feel rotten, anxious, or uneasy,
uplifted, ecstatic, extremely happy, or overly emotional. You could have high
energy, low energy, or feel spacey. Sometimes odd memories or thoughts
come to the surface. This is natural. You just accepted an energy connection
of divine nature. There’s going to be some adjustment.

To use this new attunement, think of it as the spirit being on standby. The
intercom system is there and you can get the spirit’s attention by saying its
name, looking at its sigil, or even thinking about it intensely.

Try to imagine that it is feeding its energy into you through the top of your
head so that it may flow through you and be directed at the issue you need
help with.
An easy way to make a request is to do a written petition, say the spirit’s
name, and feel the energy flow through your arms to your hands, and out the
palms. Put the written request between your hands to charge it with that
spirit’s energy and expertise. State out loud what it is you need to occur, and
once you feel the written petition is sufficiently “charged” you can burn or
bury it to release that energy so that your request can more easily be returned
to you.

You could pulse the spirit’s energy between your hands while focusing on
what you wish to accomplish until it feels like you have a thick ball of energy
accumulated, and toss it up into the air to let it manifest. Or press this charged
ball of energy into an object. Throw it in the direction of where it needs to
work. Toss it into a room and imagine it shattering like brittle glass and
filling the room with all the energy it contained, like a little mini bomb.
Experiment and you’ll find what works for you.

Instead of creating an energy ball, you can allow this energy to flow out the
tips of your fingers or palms to do healings on yourself, another person, a pet,
or even plants. This can be done directly by touch. Or, if long distance,
imagine the energy flowing from your fingertips out to the other
person/pet/plant. You can imagine this energy radiating out from you in all
directions like a shield.

If you aren’t really sure how to imagine energy flow, or feel it, or just can’t
wrap your head around such things, you can say the spirit's name and talk to
it; ask for what you need/want.

Another option for long distance work is to summon the spirit, and then think
of the person you wish to affect. You can look at their photo, or write their
name on a piece of paper, and ask the spirit to help them. A small personal
object can be used for distance work. You can use something meaningful
such as a gift they gave to you at one time, a note or letter that was sent to
you, or similar.

It is most responsible to do this with the other person’s permission. However

if you do not feel, for whatever reason, that you can discuss it with that
person a very good “work around” is to say to the spirit, “I request this
(work/request/healing) in accordance with (person’s) free will.” This allows
the spirit to work with whatever that person actually wants and is able to
handle.

Depending on the situation at hand, sometimes a person you desperately wish

to help simply does not want any kind of help, or may not be ready for the
change involved in such help. We must respect their free will. Angels and
spirits can also move back and forth through time, and this phrasing will
allow the spirit to pinpoint a time in the past or future where the other
person’s free will is accepting of such change, assistance, or healing.

This also works to charge objects or sigils. Other objects you may want to
charge would be magick tools, divination tools, crystals, talismans, personal
objects, or even personal space. Make safety force fields around your home
or car. Protect your children and pets. If you can think it up, you can do it.

Experiment; ask the spirit how to use their energy. Then open your mind to
ideas and concepts in the following days. You can never ask too much. The
more you ask, the more you demonstrate your desire.

Many times spirits will speak to us by way of ideas, random thoughts, or

seeing the right thing at the right time. The more you experiment and get to
know a spirit, the more profound the connection, communication, and results.

It is advised that you avoid treating the spirit like a bellhop; only utilizing this
new energy connection when you need something, then dismissing it without
a second thought. While you can do this (it won’t hurt the spirit’s feelings)
you just won’t have a solid working relationship with that spirit. You’ll find
that you may get some magickal results, but it will likely be weak in
comparison to what this connection is capable of.

However if you experiment with this energy, explore it, ask for insights, use
the connection to communicate with the spirit, and what ever else you can
think up, you will find that the connection goes from being like a thin flimsy
wire with a weak signal to more of a huge column of energy in its intensity.

Over time you will learn to sense the energy a lot more easily. Some people
may be able to sense the attunement instantly, others not much or at all. It’s a
process and a journey. Eventually you will go from merely making requests
of the spirit in the moment, to actually feeling the flow of that spirit’s energy
through you, and directing it to where you want it to go. You will be a
conduit for it to work through. In doing so, you add your own intention
directly to the energy you are directing for some very strong and personalized
results.

For some, this may simply mean recognizing signs, or small changes in day
to day life. Take note of random opportunities that could lead to the results
you are seeking. Random strangers may give you bits of advice at unusual
times out of nowhere, or you may find answers in ways you never thought
possible.

Let go of expectations. The more you have an open mind to this new working
relationship, the better it will be for you. That spirit may not work as you
imagined after watching some kind of TV show or movie. As humans, we
tend to be very limited in our perceptions, and we also like to beef things up
with highly unrealistic expectations that aren’t even logical.

Have you done any kind of magick at all, no matter what path or method, and
received results from that ritual, spell, or prayer? Have you worked with
angels in any other way? Have you done mantra chanting? Or have you ever
purchased any kind of magick book, tried something from that book, and
gotten results? The results of utilizing spirit attunements for magickal results
will be very similar. The only thing you’re doing differently is bypassing the
need for elaborate ritual or ceremony to pose your request.

Many times, by engaging in this practice, you will start to sense a true
working relationship with the spirit you are attuned to. Do not be afraid to
talk to it, ask questions, request insights, and ask for its ear when you have a
problem that you need to vent about. Ask that it see a gap, or fill in a gap
regarding a specific situation at hand, and assist you in finding the best
resolution so that you can move forward.

The spirits tend to work with the filters of our minds, and the more you
engage in a working relationship, the better it will know you and you will
know it. Those who are clairaudient may find that they have a much easier
time hearing the spirit once attuned to it. Others may have unusual
coincidences occurring in the days after a working that lead to realizations
and moments that make them ex claim “A-ha!”
Another signal that you’re on the right track would be the repetition of
significant or angel numbers, such as 11:11 on a clock. These
communications will be unique to you and may not be what others
experience. It may not be helpful to compare results. Spirits may also
communicate with you through song lyrics. Maybe you’ve heard the song a
thousand times before, but after a magickal working the lyrics take on new
layers of meaning for you.

Open your mind and see what attunements are for you, the best way to work
with them, and how to learn from the spirits you attune to. It should be an
ongoing journey!

leaning on the instant magick book methods. The books you can find are
excellent for providing not only lists of amazing spirits for all different
purposes, but also their sigils. This is enough to get
you started if you don’t have many magick books yet. The books listed here
are very affordable, and have proved very effective for hundreds of thousands
of people who have used them. The spirits listed in them are all safe to work
with.

Of course, if you find spirits or angels outside of these references, please do

research to make sure it is a safe spirit to connect to, check various resources,
and it is suggested that you steer clear of any book or resource that offers
servitors, tulpas, or egregores, as these are manifestations created from a
different person’s psyche (or many psyches) and not divine beings. You
cannot be assured that the energies you tap into will be from a stable mind or

Olive December Derry (her close friends affectionately call her Ember) is an
accomplished chaos magician who has been practicing magick in one form or
another for over four decades.

She started life in the central United States, attending a Lutheran church with
her parents, who expressly warned her of the dangers of the occult when she
was in her early teens, which ensured her fascination in the dark arts.

In the mid-1980s there were no magick books to be found in her small town,
yet she was deeply drawn to mystical concepts; inventing her own sigils prior
to even knowing what a sigil was, noticing repeating numbers, and
experimenting with black candles.

By the age of twenty, the love of divination took hold after being introduced
to tarot, the pendulum, talking spirit boards, and learning to sense auras.

She has worked her way through a number of magickal paths including
Wicca, paganism, Reiki, ceremonial occult magick, has dabbled in HooDoo,
and finally found her place as an adept Chaos magician, embracing a number
of theories and paths all rolled up into one.

Today she strives to deliver truth to all who are looking for an alternate
spiritual path, or who wish to enhance their lives through the exploration of
angels and other spirits, the Psalms, Bible magick, candle magick, and even
pop culture magick. Her enthusiasm for all things esoteric is contagious, and
