Pay Calculator

This spreadsheet provides an estimate of take-home pay for teachers and school leaders. It was originally developed when pay
scales were statutory for almost all schools. Since that time, the development of academies and the introduction of considerabl
greater flexibility into the pay system has made it much less precise. However, in many cases it will still provide a reasonal estim
of monthly take-home pay and associated deductions.
Please note the following caveats:

* Schools are able to set their own pay scales and points. Those used in this calculator are based on the union-recommended s
* The tax calculations do not account for reductions given for subscriptions to unions or other professional bodies. Calculations
presume that teachers have a standard personal allowance only each year.
* Full details of the union-recommended payscales from 2020-21 can be obtained by visiting the following page:
