3-phase mains motor

▪ 3 ~ 200V AC 50/60 Hz
▪ 3 ~ 230/(400)V AC 50 Hz
▪ 3 ~ 500V AC 50 Hz

1-phase mains motor

▪ 1 ~ 100V AC 50/60 Hz
▪ 1 ~ 115V AC 50 Hz
▪ 1 ~ 200V AC 50/60 Hz
▪ 1 ~ 230V AC 50 Hz

drive a power pack

50 Hz-3 phase motor on 60 Hz power supply

▪ When the supply voltage increase the same ratio of the frequency
the motor speed und and power are increased about 15-20%

▪ When the supply voltage stay the same

 the motor speed increase 20%, but Motor power decrease 30%

60 Hz-3 phase motor on 50 Hz power supply

▪ When the supply voltage decrease the same ratio of the frequency
The motor power decrease about 17%

▪ When the supply voltage stay the same

 short time operating with temperature monitoring

Basics – analog vs. digital

Analog signal Digital signal

4…20 mA; 0…5 V; 0…10 V Decimal/Binary/Hexadecimal system

Signal characters Signal characters

• Continuous • Discrete
• Infinite range of values • Rounded
• More exact values but more • Not as exact as analog, but
difficult to work with easier to work with

© HAWE Hydraulik SE | 27.11.2020 13

13
Why digital signal?

▪ Computer programing /processing require digital signals

▪ Transmitted without interference of electrical noise

▪ Digital processing is cheaper than analog processing

▪ More secure of data via encode and decode

© HAWE Hydraulik SE | 27.11.2020 14

14
Basics – analog vs. digital

Analog vs Digital sensing

Input Output

Digital Sensing: a switch on the door frame Analog Sensing: a potentiometer on the door hinge

Function: Detect the state if the door is open or closed Function:

Detect the state when the door is open or closed
 The door is open, the light bulb turn on. Identify the amount that the door is open or closed
 The door is closed, the light bulb turn off.
 The door is 50% open/ 50% closed
 The light bulb will be at a half of its full brightness
