Dear Students
The beginning of new session might not have been with
pomp and show, but the spirit of teaching learning
continues in the school. The summer vacations this time
would not be ice creams, candies and cool pool, but
time can be utilized in honing skills and interests.
It is easy to bloom, then to be a bud, but you are
responsible young members of the nation and its our
duty to follow rules. Here are some holiday activities
designed for creative utilization of time. Give a flight to
your imagination and spend time purposely.

Some points to be remember


 Drink plenty of juice and water to avoid dehydration.
 Make hand washing and hygiene a part of your routine.
 Holiday Homework is a part of subject enrichment
and will be assessed on the basis of creativity and
efforts of the students.
 It's the perfect time to enhance your speaking skills and
vocabulary by conversing in English with your family
and siblings.
 Reading is essential for those who seek to rise above
the ordinary. Spend your quality time reading
purposeful books.
 A beautiful handwriting makes a good impression.
Practice one page of English and Hindi handwriting daily.
 Schedule your time for activities so that there is no piling
up for the last moment.
 Holiday homework should be your authentic creative work.
 Holiday Homework is given according to roll numbers.
 Holiday Homework will be submitted in a paper bag..
ENGLISH
Compulsory For all Students

 Here are some of the English Idioms related to colours. Find out the meanings of these
Idioms-
a. Black mood
b. Black and white
c. Golden handshake
d. Green fingers
e. Gray matter
f. Catch someone red handed
g. Out of the blue

 Note down different words and phrases that strike your mind
when you watch an early sunrise during summers e.g. immense pleasure,
world dipped in the golden hue, birds chirping and flapping their wings,
tranquil atmosphere, etc. Using the words and phrases jotted down by you
weave a story in about 200-220 words.
(Above activity is to be done in English grammar notebook)

 Roll no. 1 to 10
Vocabulary enrichment is the most essential part of language
learning which helps us in giving creativity to our expressions. Here
is a small exercise to enrich you with words we require in our day-to-
day life.
Make a list of thirty words which we can use instead of ‗very ‘.
Eg: very slow –sluggish, Very sorry- apologetic etc. Present
your work neatly on a A-4 sheet with pictures.

 Roll no. 11 to 20
The beauty of language lies in expressing idiomatically in spoken or
written form. It makes the language interesting and expressive.
Eg: My stomach was growling like a dog -‘I was hungry’
My smile was as big as the sun-‘I was happy’
Search or create such expressions, where an ordinary statement is written
in a different way. (Any 20). Present your work on A-4 size sheet.

 Roll no. 21- Above


Entice the tourist with refreshing images of India’s eco
tourist destinations. Create a wall hanging of minimum five
frames. Each
Frame should bear the image /drawing of one eco tourist destination and
a small write up on why one should visit the place. Decorate it as
lavishly as nature’s creation adorns the earth.
MATHS
Prepare a project based on the topic allotted according to roll numbers.
File your research work keeping the following points in order:
 Title page (topic of the project)
 Cover page (essence of the project)
 Table of contents(index)
 Introduction of the topic
 History (when, how and by whom it has been discovered)
 Terminology and symbol used
 Explanation of the topic
 Game or puzzle related to the topic
 Mathematical problems with solutions (only 5)
 Real life applications (use pictures)

 Roll no. 11-20 Linear Equation in one variable
 Roll no. 21- Above Square and Square Roots

Students
 Collect, paste and write 10 top stories from the field of science in your
scrap file and decorate it beautifully.
Eg -success of Aditya L1 mission and success of Chandaryan-3
 Prepare a flex on any one topic of size 2×2 inches from the following:
a) Different agricultural practices
b) Various microorganisms and their benefits (any 3)
SOCIAL STUDIES
Common For all Students

 Prepare a project file on the life of tribal group of north eastern


states of India. Information should be collected on the history, culture,
food, literacy rate of that particular tribe. Project should be
informative and must have colourful pictures.
