Create a worksheet for tracking student marks as above mentioned, and ensure that users can only
enter grades between 0 and 100 (by using Data Validation dialog box). For configure an input
message, check the "Show input message when cell is selected" box with the title of "Grade Input"
and a message as "Please enter a grade between 0 and 100." Also Configure an Error Alert
notification. Check the "Show error alert after invalid data is entered" box with Choose an alert
style as ‘Warning’ with the title as "Invalid Input" and an error message as "Please enter a valid
grade between 0 and 100." Test the Data Validation as when a user selects cell and tries to enter a
grade outside the range of 0 to 100, they will see the error message as user specified, and Excel
will not allow them to proceed until a valid grade is entered. Now after making data validation
verification perform the following task:
1. Find the percentage of each student in the above dataset.
2. Calculate on average marks of each student.
3. Calculate maximum marks in each subject.
4. Calculate the minimum marks in each subject.
5. Make the discrete frequency data for each subject by using Frequency Function.
6. Also verify output of discrete frequencies through the Pivot Table.
7. Find the Variance and Covariance
(a) Between the subject marks of Stats and Finance
(b) Between the subject marks of Psychology and Stats
(c) Between the subject marks of Finance and Psychology.
8. Sort the Dataset by Alphabetic order Z to A.
9. Filter the array of marks of roll number in such order:
12005, 120018, 120024, 120027, 120049, 120063, 120073, 120088, 120095,120098
10. Convert the filtered array in table format.
11. Make a column chart for given dataset.
12. Highlight the maximum percentage Student’s marks.
Exercise Based on Goal Seek
1) A student needs to take 5 exams, each with equal weight. To pass, the student must achieve
an average score of 70% across all exams. Having completed the first 4 exams and knowing
their scores, the student now needs to calculate the minimum score required on the fifth
exam to ensure the overall average reaches or exceeds 70%.
Here, Student contains the score of the first 4 exam as follows:
➢ Student contains the score of the first exam = 65%
➢ Student contains the score of the second exam = 72%
➢ Student contains the score of the third exam= 68%
➢ Student contains the score of the fourth exam= 74%
➢ Student will contain the score of the fifth exam= ?
➢ Student Grand Total percentage= 56%

2) The following table shows the votes received by the two candidates, C1 and C2, who
contested in an election. In the present situation, candidate C2 is leading by 30,000 votes.
It is given that to win the election, 55.5% votes are required. Calculate the total number of
votes required by candidate C1 to win.

Candidate Votes Percentage Votes

C1 57000
C2 87000
Total 144000
