Rural Women’s in the Entrepreneurial

World

Entrepreneurship is the word of today's world , but looking back in time due to the different
Indian structures, thinking about women rural entrepreneurs in India was not just
anachronistic, it was almost “impossible” and even if there were women’s they were
overshadowed or they looked so simple that they were almost “irrelevant”.
Thanks to the changing dynamics of the world, digitalization, Globalization in the economy,
these numbers are changing for good , a better and faster economy, a more open and
developed education, different social legislation but also a generational update are all
contributing factors towards it. The entrance of women in the business world not only as
workers but as entrepreneurs is a visible change .
Let's highlight on some success stories of Rural Women Entrepreneur –:
1.ANITA DEVI: The Mushroom Lady Of Bihar
Anita Devi is one of the most successful women entrepreneurs in India who made her success
from growing mushrooms. She graduated at home studying science in two universities, Dr.
Rajendra Prasad Central Agriculture University
in Samastipur, Bihar, and GB Pant , she has changed lives of hundreds of women in Bihar ,
she took mushroom farming when her husband was facing
financial issues and changed the course of her life in spite of the
criticism and hardship she faced in her journey.
2.CHETNA GALA SINMHA

Chetna Gala Sinmha is a social activist and entrepreneur woman .In 1997 she opened the first
Bank for and by rural women with the name of Mann Deshi Mahila Sahakari Bank.
Talking about the numbers of this bank, only in 2018, the bank has provided over 50 million
dollars to support women entrepreneurs projects of any kind.

3. THINLAS CHOROL

Thinlas Choral is an activist and entrepreneur from Ladakh. Since her childhood, she spent a
lot of time living and exploring the area and thereby becoming a trekking guide.
This was a unique step as becoming a trek guide was a men dominant area but no matter
what, with time and experience she built popularity, and more or less 10 years after in 2009
she founded her company: Ladakhi women’s travel company.
