Ambrosia Cricket League
Structure:
1. Kids 2 teams – Total participation - 18
2. Women’s 2 teams – Total participation - 16
3. Men’s 4 teams – Total participation – 52
4. League starts on Friday, 2nd Sept. 2022. If all the matches
For Kids matches:
Best of 3 format to be played for kids matches (if one team wins two matches in a
row, they win the League and the third match will not be paid)
First two matches of 5 overs each. If final happens, it will be of 6 overs.
9 a side team
One over maximum per bowler
Those who do not get to bowl, will need to bat in top 5 while batting
First match starts at 5.30 pm (kids should be called on the ground at 5 pm)
For Women category:
One match to be played. If women are interested to continue, we will play 1 or 2
more matches
5 overs match. If final is scheduled, it will be of 6 overs
8 a side team
Those who do not get to bowl, will need to bat in top 4 while batting
First match starts at 7 pm
For Men category:
Total 4 teams and will play matches as per the following schedule:
o Titans v/s Hurricanes
o Vikings v/s Marvels
o Marvels v/s Hurricanes
o Vikings v/s Titans
o Marvels v/s Titans
o Vikings v/s Hurricanes
Squad for each team consists of 13 people but match is played as 9 a side
Those who do not get to bowl, will need to bat in top 4 while batting
Captain to ensure that each person gets to play at least one match before the finals
Top two teams go to final. If points are equal, net run rate decides the winner
6 overs match. Final will be of 7 overs
First match starts at 9 pm and play will continue till 11.30 pm
Rules of the game:
1. Matches will played as per the schedule given above
2. Maximum 1 over per bowler
3. Straight 4 and 6 runs beyond the boundary rope
4. If ball caught directly (without bouncing on the floor), player will be declared out
even if ball touches the wall, net, tree or any other object except the floor
5. No ball will declared as a free hit
a. No ball is given if full foot is landed beyond the line while bowling
b. No ball is given if bowled on or before the middle white line
6. Batsman will be declared out if ball goes in the garden on both sides (with or without
touching the net / tree / wall).
7. If ball lands inside the building entrance line / compound or in the school compound,
2 runs will be declared. But 4 runs will be declared if the ball lands in these areas
after crossing the boundary line
8. If ball goes inside the flower pots on the sides or if it gets stuck in flower pots area, 1
run will be declared but the batsman needs to rotate the strike
9. Batsman will be retired if he reaches 20 individual runs. The same batsman can come
back for batting, if his side is all out
10. No last man batting is allowed
