Work you’ll do
The primary role of the Associate Director is to make direct contributions to client’s team by assisting them through in setting up
or expanding shared services across various competencies like IT, Finance, HR etc. The role will entail advising clients on operating
model, driving technology led transformation programs, sourcing strategy and vendor portfolio optimization.
The responsibilities of current role would include:
• Support client team on GBS/VMO activities which includes supplier strategy and execution, RFP/RFI rollout support,
contract change and control, governance and performance management, dispute and escalation management, billing
and commercial management, and 3P spend forecasting
• Establish and optimize best practices for vendor management - contracting, negotiations, vendor services
implementation and ongoing performance monitoring and management
• Provide POV on leading GBS best practices, ways-of-working and market trends to clients
• Implement best practices in GBS operations, including continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six
Sigma, and analyze GBS data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, providing insights to senior
management
• Actively shape new solution development linked to new GBS market trends and client needs, e.g. publication of articles
or presentations for conferences
• Drive the execution of client entity-wide GBS transformation programs, from strategy development and design phase, to
optimization and implementation
• Prepare benchmark analyses to optimize client’s organizational structures and evaluate target operating models across
Centers of Excellence (CoE) and Shared Service Centers (SSCs) as well as global governance structures
• Develop and implement GBS strategies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness across the organization,
aligned with the overall business objectives of the consulting company and its clients
• Lead the GBS team in providing exceptional service delivery, ensuring that all service level agreements are met or
exceeded, while managing teams and client relationships
• Act as a subject matter expert on GBS-related topics, providing guidance to stakeholders across the organization,
including participating in business development activities, such as sales meetings and proposal development, to promote
the consulting company's GBS expertise
• Leverage working knowledge of IT outsourcing, BPO/ITeS, GBS and shared services operating models
• Support preparation of solution/responses to RFPs/RFx and lead commercial solutions for market opportunities pursued
• Validate transition and transformation plan for contracting activities
• Leverage standardized global program structure tools, templates and methodologies and draw learnings from other
geographies
• Work closely and collaboratively with teams to analyse client operations, brainstorm potential options, and make
recommendations
• Assist leadership to take strategic decisions and manage, build, and leverage client relationships
• Further support leadership in developing portfolio offerings and assisting in sales pitch
• Carry revenue management along with tracking, managing, and reporting of sales pipeline
• Drive cross leverage of capabilities across portfolio offerings
• Mentor junior team members across offerings on project work and delivering against team goals
• Create strong team of professionals by attracting external talent and strengthening in-house team
Qualifications
• 10-15 years of experience in GBS setup and strategy, Outsourcing advisory, VMO and complex PMO (PMO for multiple
portfolios and stakeholders across geographies)
• GBS experience for clients in CPG preferred
• Experience in managing and expanding global client along with dealing with client on a day-to-day basis and
independently managing client interactions
• Knowhow of executing technology led transformation programs
• Prior experience of working in pre-sales function responding to RFI, RFPs, and proposals
• Project management experience, with ability to lead and mobilize cross-functional teams and deliver complex and high-
impact programs
• General understanding of DevOps, ADM methodology along with familiarity on IT infrastructure considerations, data
centre operations, cloud etc. is a plus
• Knowhow of executing technology led transformation programs
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Leadership qualities and the ability to mentor
• Willingness and ability to take initiative and learn independently
• Proficient user of Microsoft suite (advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
