21 January 2015

Our Product Life Cycle Management Program is intended to help you proactively plan
the ongoing operation and maintenance of your Bently Nevada products by providing
information on the availability of parts and support. Notices such as this are issued at
life cycle milestones to inform you of changes and to provide recommendations on
how to move forward.

Specific Recommendations

The 3500 Hazardous Gas detection monitor and associated

sensor were developed for use on new unit GE Gas Turbines and
retrofits of GE gas turbines. The system introduced in 2008 and
was primarily sold through GE Energy’s Industrial gas turbine
plant in Greenville, SC. There were also retrofit sales through GE
Power Generation Services (PGS) and Control Solutions.
Due to limitations in the catalytic bead technology (sensor
poisoning, accuracy and drift), and the prospect of sensor
obsolescence, GE is now offering a different technology for new
units and future retrofits that is not supplied by Bently Nevada.

As always, we will honor our industry-leading 3-year warranty.

The 3500/63 and 350800 can currently be purchased for spare
parts replacements only. The transition to P4 for the Hazardous
Gas Monitor is intended to be followed by a transition to P5. It is
recommended that customers consider migration plans to
replacement technologies.

The 350800 Catalytic Bead Sensor will remain at P3 status until

further notice.
The 350810 Remote Calibrator will remain at P3 status until
further notice.

Please contact GE Control Solutions for new hazardous gas

detection retrofits.
