coming under South Central Railway Jurisdiction only & fulfilling the prescribed

Important Instructions:
Please read all the instructions in this notification carefully and ensure that you are
eligible to apply before filling the Online application form available on the RRC/SC
webpage of South Central Railway website www.scr.indianrailways.gov.in
For registration Candidates should belong to States/districts mentioned in Para
1.0 with proof of residence, valid Aadhar Number, E-mail mail ID and Mobile number
which has to be maintained till the completion of Engagement Engagement process for
receiving information/Alerts.
In case the Candidates do not have a VALID personal e-mail ID and mobile number
he/she should create his / her e-mail ID and obtain Mobile Number before applying
online application and must maintain that e-mail ID/Mobile Number till the end of
Engagement process.
Candidates should be in possession of Aadhaar Card at the time of registration
registration.
Candidates have to fill 12 digit Aadhaar Card number in the ONLINE application.
The candidates not having Aadhaar
Aadhaar number and have enrolled for Aadhaar but have
not received Aadhaar Card can enter 28 digit Aadhar enrolment ID printed on the
Aadhaar Enrolment slip.

www.scr.indianrailways.gov.in regularly for further updates.

The statement showing Trade-wise, Railway Establishment-wise & Community-wise
slots notified in Annexure-1. Candidate has to choose their option of priority/preference for
the Railway Establishments of South Central Railway for Training while submitting online
application only. Candidates may note that while choosing options the units notified for
that trade only are to be opted.
3.1 Number of training slots shown in this notification are provisional and the same are
liable to increase or decrease depending up on the actual needs of the Administration at
the time of finalization of selection.

3.2 Reservation for PwBD: There will be a reservation to the extent of 4% for Persons
with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) in the identified trades i.e., 1% each to VI,
HI/HH, LD and MD categories. The reservation provided for PwBD candidates is to be
adjusted in the appropriate category viz., UR/SC/ST/OBC-NCL to which they belong.
3.3 Ex-Servicemen: There will be a reservation of 3% for Ex-servicemen and children of
Serving soldiers/officers in the following cases:
(i) Children of deceased/disabled Ex-Servicemen including those killed/disabled
during peace time.
(ii) Children of Ex-Servicemen
(iii) Children of Serving Jawans
(iv) Children of Serving Officers
(v) Ex-Servicemen
The reservation provided for the Ex-Servicemen quota is to be adjusted in the
appropriate category viz., UR/SC/ST/OBC-NCL to which they belong.
3.4 The Ex-Servicemen should upload Discharge Certificate and in case of children of
Ex-Servicemen/Serving Armed Forces, Service Certificate need to be uploaded for
availing 3% reservation.
3.5 EWS (Economically Weaker Section) Reservation: The candidates applying against
the vacancies reserved for EWS must upload valid Income and Asset Certificate issued
by competent authority as per Annexure-F. In case of non compliance to these
stipulations, their claim for reserved status under EWS will not be entertained and the
candidature / application of such candidates, if fulfilling all the eligibility conditions for
UR category, will be considered under UR vacancies only.
4.0 Educational Qualifications:
4.1 The candidate must have passed 10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2
examination system) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from recognized Board
and also possess ITI Certificate in the trade notfied from the institutes recognised by
NCVT/SCVT.
4.2 The Candidate should possess the required qualification as on date of submitting online
application.
4.3 ITI Certificates issued by Institutes affiliated to NCVT/SCVT are compulsory in the
relevant trades as under

Note: Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for
apprenticeship in response to this notification as they are governed by a separate
scheme of apprenticeship.

4.4 Wards/dependents of Railway employees (as per Pass Rules) can also apply online
directly.
5.0 ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:
5.1 AGE: The candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not have
completed 24 years of age as on the cut-off date for receiving online applications i.e.,
28.12.2024.
5.2 SC/ST/OBC-NCL- Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years in case of SC/ST
applicants and 03 years in case of OBC-NCL applicants.
5.3 Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) : Upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.
5.4 Ex-Servicemen: Upper age is relaxable by 10 years in the case of Ex-serviceman upto
the extent of service rendered in Defence Forces. There will not be any upper age
relaxation for the children of Ex-Servicemen or Serving jawans/officers.
Accordingly, the eligible Date of Birth range for different communities shall be as
follows:

5.5 The candidates who want to avail the benefit of reservation of SC/ST must upload
Caste Certifcate on Central Government format issued by appropriate authority as per
Annexure-A and the same should be submitted at the time of Document Verification.
5.6 Similarly, the candidates who want to avail the benefit of reservation of OBC must
upload Caste Certificate with Non-Creamy Layer Certificate isued with in three years
from the date of issue of notification on Central Government format by appropriate
authority as per Annexure-B and the same should be submitted at the time of
Document Verifiation.
Also, OBC candidates have to upload a Self-Declaration form regarding current status
of Non-Creamy Layer as per Annexure-C.
5.7 The PwBD candidates must upload Disability Certificate in proper format with 40% or
more disability as per Annexure-D/E, whichever is applicable and must be produced
at the time of Document Vertification.
5.8 EWS (Economically Weaker Section) Reservation: The candidates applying against
the vacancies reserved for EWS must upload valid Income and Asset Certificate issued
by competent authority as per Annexure-F.
6.0 MODE OF SELECTION:
6.1 Selection of candidates is as per the Railway Board guidelines of RBE 120/2015, dated
06.10.2015.
6.2 Selection of the eligible candidates for imparting training under the Apprentice Act,
1961 will be based on the merit list which would be prepared taking the average of the
percentage marks obtained by the candidates in both 10th Class/matriculation [with
minimum 50% (aggregate) marks] and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both.
6.3 In case of two candidates having the same marks, the candidate with older age shall be
preferred. In case the dates of birth are also same, then the candidate who passed
matriculation/10th Class exam earlier shall be considered.

6.4 There will be no written test or viva.
6.5 Training & stipend:-Training will be arranged in accordance with the standards and
syllabus prescribed by the Central Apprenticeship Council. The selected candidates
will be paid stipend during Apprenticeship at the prescribed rates as per extant
instructions.
7.0 MEDICAL FITNESS & PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
7.1 Applicant selected has to produce medical certificate which should be signed by
Government authorized doctor (Gaz.), not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon of
Central/State Hospital at the time of document verification in prescribed format as
per Annexure-G.
7.2 Producing medical fitness certificate is at the time of DV is mandatory, without which
they will not be allowed to be considered for training.
7.3 For Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), the maximum Disability is detailed

7.4 PwBD candidates, who want to avail the benefit of reservation must upload a Disability
certificate issued by a competent authority (i.e. Medical Board duly constituted by the
Central or State Government including one specialist in the particular field for assessing
disability). Disability certificate should be strictly as per the Annexure – ‘D’ / ‘E’
whichever is applicable.
8.0 PAYMENT OF FEE:
8.1 Once the online application is complete in all respects on

relevant documents in the online application, the candiate will be directed for payment
of application fees.

8.2 Application Fees (Non-refundable) - 100/- (Rupees Hundred only). Transaction
charges for online payment, if any, shall be borne by the candidate.
8.3 Mode of Payment Candidate will be directed to user details page wherein the details of
registered email ID, Phone Number and Application Number has to be entered after
which payment can be made. Application fees to be paid online through any of the
following modes:
(i) Net Banking of SBI and Internet Banking of other Banks.
(ii) SBI ATM-cum Debit Card and other Banks Debit Cards
(iii) Credit Cards
(iv) SBI UPI.
8.4 No fee is required to be paid by SC/ST candidates/Female candidates of all
communities/PwBD candidates.
8.5 On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt with the data entered by the
candidate will be generated which should be printed and retained by the candidate.
9.0 HOW TO APPLY/ STEPS TO SUBMIT ONLINE APPLICATON:
9.1 Submission of ONLINE APPLICATION is of Four stages: Registration, Personal
Details/Education qualification Details/Upload Photo/signature, selection of options and
payment of processing fee.
9.2 Visit the website of RRC/SCR i.e. webpage of South Central Railway website
www.scr.indianrailways.gov.in.
9.3 Click on the “ONLINE ACT APPRENTICE APPPLICATION” link.
9.4 Candidate will be directed to instructions page. On viewing all the instructions
candidate can download detailed notification and click for registration.
9.5 Candidate has to select the state and district to which he/ she belongs to for which
address proof has to be uploaded. If eligible as per para 1.0, you can enter valid
mobile number and E-mail ID and create own password which has to be used for
further future logins. After submission candidate will be sent separate OTPs to the
registered mobile number and E-mail ID.
9.6 After submission of OTPs candidate will be directed to Application page to enter all
personnel details like Community, Date of Birth candidate’s Name, father’s name,
Educational /Technical qualification possessed by him/her.
9.7 Candidate has to choose their option of priority/preference for the Railway
Establishments of South Central Railway for Training. Option of priority/preference
once exercised is final and no request for modification will be entertained.
9.8 Candidates should note that he/she will be allotted to the opted Railway
Establishments only as per the merit. He/she will not be considered for the Railway
Establishments for which options are not given. Hence, it is advised to submitted
maximum options as per Annexure-1
9.9 The candidate has to upload recent color photograph. The Image should not be
more than 1Mb in size (not older than three months from the date of application) with
clear front view of the candidate without cap and sunglasses should be uploaded. The
photo should be only in JPEG format-100 DPI. Employees are advised to bring three
copies of the same photograph along with e–Call Letter. They are also advised to keep
10 copies of the same photograph for further use.
9.10 Candidate should note that RRC may at any stage, reject the application for uploading
old/unclear photo (as specified in Para 9.9) along with online application or for any
significant variations between photographs uploaded along with online application and
physical appearance of the candidate.
9.11 After uploading the photograph, candidate has to upload specimen signature (Image
should not be more than 1Mb in size) and upload required educational certificates &
RDAT registration form mentioning registration number in PDF format (should
not be more than 2MB in size)
9.12 After uploading all the required educational certificates successfully click on Preview
before submission and check the details entered by you as once the data submitted
cannot be rectified.
9.13 Candidate has to click submit button for final submission of his/her application, after
which, if applicable, candidates will be directed to payment gateway as mentioned in
Para 8.3.
9.14 An Application form submitted by the candidate will be displayed. Candidates can
download/take printout of the application form submitted. A copy of the same can be
preserved by the candidate for future reference.
9.15 Candidate may login at any stage for completing the submission process of online
application after getting registered by clicking “Existing User Login” in the home page
NOTE:
9.15.1 Communication with the Candidates will be made through SMS & e-mail only.
Candidates are advised to provide only their own Mobile number/ e-mail ID to receive
and view such communication.
9.15.2 Candidates are advised to preserve/note their Registration Number for further stages of
correspondence.
9.15.3 Before submitting the application, Candidates should ensure and check the accuracy of
all the details filled and relevant certificates uploaded and then press the SUBMIT
button for online application. Application once submitted cannot be modified.
9.15.4 For any query regarding submission of online application, candidates may contact the
help desk number provided in the instruction page.
10.0 DOCUMENTS TO BE UPLOADED:
10.1 SSC/10th Class or its equivalent marks sheet.
10.2 Proof of Date of Birth.
10.3 Consolidated Marks Sheet of all semesters of the ITI trade in which applied/Provisional
National Trade Certificate indicating marks
10.4 National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT or Provisional National Trade Certificate
issued by NCVT/SCVT.
10.5 RDAT registration form mentioning registration number.
10.6 Community Certificate for SC/ST (as per Annexure-A) and for OBC (as per Annexure-
B & C) wherever applicable should be uploaded.
10.7 Disability Certificate in case of PwBD candidates (Disability Certificate in proper
format for 40% or more disability) to be uploaded. However, Annexure-D/E whichever
applicable, must be produced at the time of Document Verification (DV).
10.8 EWS Certificate as per Annexure –F, if applicable.
10.9 Medical certificate which should be signed by Government authorized doctor (Gaz.),
not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon of Central/State Hospital as per Annexure-G
10.10 Discharge Certificate/Serving Certificate in case of candidates applied against
Ex-Servicemen quota.

11.4 Uploading Black & White photo or photo with cap, wearing goggles, disfigured,
unrecognizable or scanned/Xerox copy.
11.5 Scanned Signature in Block/Capital Letters.
11.6 The community of the candidate is wrongly mentioned in the application form
11.7 Marks of 10th & ITI is wrongly mentioned in the application form
11.8 OBC certificate not issued by the Competent Authority
11.9 Any other form of irregularities as observed and considered as invalid by RRC/SCR.
13.0 The selected candidates shall execute a contract of Apprenticeship under the
Apprentices Act, 1961 and if such a candidate is a minor, his Parent/Guardian shall
execute the prescribed contract.
14.0 The Apprentices shall be governed by the provisions of Apprentices Act,1961 and
Apprenticeship Rules, 1962 as amended from time to time and such other Railway
Rules and Regulations applicable to them.
15.0 The obligation under The Apprentices Act, 1961 on part of the Railways is to provide
training only and not to absorb the trained Apprentices. Hence, the candidates will
have no prescriptive right for regular absorption/employment in Railway service on
completion of the training.
