To single IED via front connector of the IED (IEC 61850)

To multiple IEDs via fixed station bus (IEC 61850, ethernet)

To multiple IEDs by using RAS (Remote Access Service) dial-up. (IEC 61850)
To multiple IEDs by using VPN connection (IEC 61850)
