Summer Internship Guidelines for UG and PG Students in continuation to the existing
guidelines mentioned in respective programme syllabus
Duration: The offline Summer Internship can be done during the months of June, July and August
2022 (preferably between 21st June to 14th August, 2022) as directed by the O/o Dean Academics,
AUH. It is mandatory to undergo offline summer internship for a minimum of 6-8 weeks (a total
108 hours) for PG students and for UG 5th semester students.
For UG 3rd semester the duration for internship would be 4-6 weeks, for 72 hours in total. The
timeline of beginning and completion of respective Internship will be finalized by the allotted
Faculty supervisor/ mentor and a record of this will be maintained.
Eligible Organizations: Students can do their internships in registered hospitals or clinics
especially in clinical psychology or counseling psychology domain, NGOs working in the field of
mental health or social work or HR department of corporate sectors. Additionally research
institutions, media houses, pharmaceutical firms provide internship opportunities. Such offline
internship opportunities are being announced by the Corporate Resource Centre (CRC), AUH,
which are being shared with all students. Respective Programme Coordinators will announce
such opportunities to the respective students under different programmes. Students are also
encouraged to identify available offline opportunities in consultation with their respective
programme coordinators or faculty mentors.
Letter of Recommendation: A letter of recommendation will be provided to the students by CRC/
Faculty Coordinator, AIBAS, AUH; in case it is required by student’s host organization. It is
recommended that student to put his/ her Letter of Request (LOR) at least one week prior to CRC
and Faculty Coordinator at AIBAS, with the support from respective programme coordinator or
faculty supervisor/ mentor.
Internship completion certificate: It is mandatory to produce an internship certificate and a
feedback form, duly signed by the secondary supervisor/ mentor at the host organization.
Respective students would be required to submit the certificate of completion along with the
feedback form at the time of evaluation. A suggestive format of internship completion certificate
(may be revised as required) is attached herewith at Annexure I. The feedback form is attached
herewith at Annexure-II.
Internship report: During the offline internship student should keep a diary/ log book to record
daily observations and leanings etc. The student needs to follow the norms and policies of the
host organization for the duration of internship. The student is advised to be in regular touch
with the primary supervisor/ mentor at AIBAS and should submit a weekly brief report over an E-
mail.
It is advisable to maintain a detailed description of all that you have learned and observed during
internship. You will be assigned a mentor who will guide you in making your internship report.
The suggested format of Internship report writing is attached herewith at Annexure- III. Students
are encouraged to prepare their respective draft Internship report as per the suggested format.
Later this can be revised after receiving the inputs from your respective assigned mentor.

Annexure- III

Internship report format

The Final Dissertation report would be a comprehensive report (min. 4000 and max. 5000 words).
This document may be prepared at AIBAS after completion of the internship period with help
from the advisor. The students are strongly advised to start work on the document early in the
internship period to ensure quality. The document would cover the following sections:
1. Introduction
2. About the host organization
3. Objectives/ ToRs of internship
4. Activities undertaken during internship
5. Management challenges observed, if any
6. Issues addressed
7. Key leanings/ lessons learnt
8. Conclusion/recommendation
9. References

* All documents would have to be computer typed with the following formatting requirement:
- Font: Arial
- Spacing: single
- Size: 12 pts
- All around margin of 1 cm
- Alignment: Justified

All documents will have to be submitted in soft version in a .doc or .docx format. Final submission
of the Dissertation report may be made in a .pdf format

All reports will have to be bound (in file covers) before submission.
