SUBJECT: ELIMINATING IC5 (DIP IC)
The IC5 (used for Dip IC) and jumper plug, which were installed to correct a bug from the
commencement of mass production, have been eliminated. Along with this, the contents of IC5 (Dip
IC) have been incorporated into the IC6 (masked ROM).
There are the following three kinds of control boards in the field.
1. Old 8M masked ROM (IC6) + 4M EPROM (IC5) + jumper plug: Ver. 1.03
2. Old 8M masked ROM (IC6) + 4M masked ROM (IC5) + jumper plug: Ver. 1.03
3. New 8M masked ROM (IC6): Ver. 1.03
Precaution for servicing:
As for above 1 and 2, replace the whole control board with new one in servicing.
SERVICE PART
The new type of IC6 (masked ROM) has been used as a service part from the commencement of
mass production, and its service part number QH7-8137-000 remain unchanged.
SERIAL NUMBER
The serial numbers of machines having the above control boards (1, 2 or 3) are as follows.
1. Black model: XAK00000 to XAK03256
White model: XAL00000 to XAL00630
2. Black model: XAK03257 to XAK10000, XAK20501 to XAK37559
White model: XAL00631 to XAL26783
3. Black model: XAK10001 to XAK20500, XAK37560 and later
White model: XAL26784 and later
