ROUTE)
Where?
At Dunhuang, the silk road divide into two main
routes: A southern route that skirted the south
to the Taklamakan Desert of the tows of
Cherchen, Khotan and Kashgar.

Dangers
Comparing to the North to South route, it is more
dangerous.
Sandstorms;
Dehydration (Because of the extreme
temperature);
Lack of Medical Facilities;
Difficulty Accessing Help;
Poorly Marked Routes (Some areas lack clear
signage, making it easy to get lost.);
Dangerous Wildlife (Scorpions, snakes, or
other desert creatures, especially at night.);
Contaminated Water or Food.
How will I minimize
We carry for you ample water, sun protection
(hats, sunscreen), and warm clothing for
temperature fluctuations;
We travel with a reliable guide or in a group;
We carry a first aid kit and a satellite phone for
emergencies;
We use a GPS or hire a local guide familiar with the
area;
Some pears closed footwear and long clothing in the
desert;
We will bring you bottled or purified water.
