Academic Curriculum for Post Graduation Diploma in Yoga Therapy (PGDYT) 2023-24
Admission and Study Rules:
1. Eligibility: Any graduate from any discipline is eligible for admission.
2. Course Duration: 1 year.
3. Assessment: Both theoretical and practical exams must be cleared separately.
4. Attendance Requirement: 75% attendance in theory and practical classes is mandatory;
otherwise, the student may not be allowed to appear in exams.
5. Additional Rules: Other rules will be as per the university's regulations.
Objectives of the Diploma in Yoga Therapy:
1. Understand the nature, purpose, and fundamental principles of yoga.
2. Study the current holistic and societal relevance of yoga in daily life.
3. Comprehend the theoretical and practical aspects of yoga.
4. Achieve harmony between mind and body through yoga, connecting it with spiritual truth.
5. Regulate psychological activities through the practice of yoga.

Examination Scheme:
The course is divided into theory and practical components:
- Theory (600 marks): Covers the basics of yoga therapy, principles, human anatomy, physiology,
and more.
- Practical (400 marks): Includes practical aspects of yoga therapy, advanced techniques, yogic
exercises, and assessment.

1. Foundations of Yoga Therapy: Definitions, history, importance, and the relevance of yoga in
modern times.
2. Classical Texts and Techniques: Study of various scriptures and yogic techniques including
postures, breathing exercises, meditation, and their applications.
3. Human Anatomy and Physiology: Understanding the human body systems, functions, and the
physiological impact of yoga.
4. Yoga for Common Ailments: Therapeutic applications of yoga for managing stress, anxiety,
common physical and mental disorders.
