Abstract
The aim of basic education is to build a foundation of intellect, knowledge and
character, as well as to acquire noble morals and skills for living independently. A
student's further education cannot be separated from the figure of his parents. The
influence of parent and school collaboration on school activities has a positive impact on
students in various aspects of education. Teachers function as educators in the school
environment, and parents as educators in the home environment, of course need to
maintain good communication in order to encourage their children's intellectual and
personal development. This makes it not only an academic management information
system, but also a means for schools to process Academic data as a medium for
communicating student academic progress to parents. This management information
system allows teachers to report student attendance, exam results, violations and student
achievements directly to the students' parents

I. Introduction
The goal of education is to provide a foundation of intelligence, knowledge, moral
character, high ethics, and skills for independent living and further education. This
enables students to develop and demonstrate good moral values toward others.
Efforts to achieve these goals cannot be separated from the role of parents. The
collaboration between parents and schools positively impacts various aspects of
education, such as improving academic achievement and reducing violations of
school regulations.
The enhancement of service quality provided by educational institutions is a key
factor that attracts attention when choosing an institution or school. Therefore, efforts
to improve the quality of school services are essential for maintaining
competitiveness with other schools. An academic management information system
can manage several school services, such as student data, performance records,
information services about the institution or school for parents, and subject records.
Currently, student and teacher data is processed using Excel. The lack of an
integrated data processing system can lead to data duplication and inconsistencies
when changes occur. As a result, student data reports submitted to the principal are
often inaccurate. Daily student attendance at SDN BATUTULIS 2 is currently
managed manually using attendance sheets compiled at the end of the semester, and
student attendance is reported to parents upon receipt of a notification letter.
Another issue is that classroom teachers find it challenging to report student
violations to parents. Violations committed by students should be promptly reported
to parents. This helps parents understand the reasons behind the disciplinary actions
taken by teachers and prevents misunderstandings between parties. Parents are
encouraged to visit the school alongside their children.
The Rapid Application Development (RAD) method is one of the popular
approaches in system development known for its speed and flexibility. By using the
RAD method, a system development process can be carried out quickly and
iteratively, involving users actively at every stage of development.
II. Theoretical Framework
The theoretical framework is a part of research that contains theories and research
findings derived from literature studies and serves as a theoretical basis for solving
research problems. The theoretical framework is often referred to as the theoretical
foundation. The importance of the theoretical framework in scientific research can be
seen from its content, which includes theories and findings from previous studies.
These theories and findings provide a theoretical framework useful for
complementing the ongoing research.
According to Moleong, the theoretical framework is a set of statements integrated by
logically connecting observed data based on certain rules. The theoretical foundation
functions to predict and explain observed phenomena. This aligns with Moleong's
opinion, which states that the theoretical framework is a set of statements that follow
specific rules and are integrated by logically connecting them to the observed data.
Based on this perspective, the author in this study found that teachers functioning as
educators within the school environment and parents serving as educators at home
play a role in fostering children's intellectual and personal development. Effective
academic information management highlights the importance of maintaining good
communication.
Developed using the RAD (Rapid Application Development) methodology, this
system helps schools process academic data and serves as a medium to communicate
students' progress in school to parents. This management information system enables
teachers to report student absences, test scores, violations, and grades directly to
parents.
III. Management Information System
An information system is a set of interconnected components that work together to
collect, manage, store, and distribute information within an organization. Information
systems involve the use of information technology, processes, data, hardware,
software, and communication infrastructure to effectively support business activities,
decision-making, and organizational operations.
Information systems can encompass various aspects of business, such as transaction
processing systems, database management systems, management information
systems, decision support systems, executive information systems, communication
systems, and e-commerce systems. Additionally, information systems may include
aspects such as information security, disaster recovery, and the management of
information technology resources.
The primary purpose of an information system is to collect relevant data, transform it
into meaningful information, and provide that information to the appropriate users at
the right time and in the correct format.
An effective information system enables schools and other organizations to enhance
productivity, efficiency, quality, and competitiveness.
III.1 Management Information System
A management/information system is a combination of human resources and
information/technology used to store, process, and retrieve data that supports the
decision-making process.
III.II Integrated System
Integration refers to the interconnection between subsystems, meaning that data from
one system can be utilized by another system. System integration is the concept of
interconnected systems in various ways depending on the needs of the organization.
System integration is the process of building an integrated information system from
software components designed, as well as different hardware and networks. An
integrated information system is a platform that allows organizations to integrate and
coordinate business processes. In other words, the output of one system becomes the
input for another system.
IV. Problem-Solving Methodology
The type of research used is descriptive research, which involves analyzing the
impact and success rate of the academic management information system introduced
at SDN Batutulis 2. This study consists of three problem-solving phases: preparation,
implementation, analysis of system design results, as well as conclusions and
recommendations.
V. Discussion
The discussion of research results can be described as the researcher’s original
thoughts, providing explanations and interpretations of the analyzed findings to
answer research questions. Therefore, every discussion of research results becomes
an insight gained from the study. In this research, the author identifies the attendance
system or attendance status of parents, students, and all aspects related to the study in
connection with this identification.
V.I Stakeholder Identification
Stakeholder identification involves recognizing individuals, groups, or entities that
may have an interest in or be affected by a particular project, decision, or activity.
The main objective is to determine who is impacted or could be impacted by specific
outcomes or processes and to understand their interests, needs, and expectations.
Stakeholders must be identified carefully.
V.II Stakeholder Analysis
In this study, the principal of SDN Batutulis 2 is responsible for planning school
activities and making decisions. The parties who will execute or utilize the approved
solution in this context are the teachers at SDN Batutulis 2. The parties whose roles
will be influenced by the system to be developed are also the teachers at SDN
Batutulis 2. Meanwhile, the party tasked with identifying problems and proposing
solutions in this case is the researcher.
V.III Design
The design of the academic management information system implemented at SDN
Batutulis 2 is as follows:
V.III A User Identification
The results of the user needs analysis include functional requirements for
administrative staff, teachers, parents of students, and the school principal. A detailed
description of the user needs identified can be seen in Table I below.

Based on the data in Table VI, the results of the UAT testing indicate that 80% of the responses
were positive, while negative responses accounted for only 14.5%

Primary Data: Interviews, surveys, and direct observations with teachers, staff,
and administrators at SDN Batutulus 2.
Secondary Data: School records, existing AMIS (Academic Management
Information System) documentation, and performance reports.

VII. Conclusion
The design of the academic management information system for SDN Batutulis 2 assists
the school in providing academic activities to students' parents. The results of system
development, tested using UAT (User Acceptance Testing), indicate that the system falls
into the "good" category and is accepted by users. Future development can include features
such as a school gallery to store data on school achievements. It can also be developed into
a mobile-based program (Android or iOS) to enable access via smartphones.
The implementation of the Academic Management Information System (AMIS) at SDN
Batutulus 2 represents a significant step towards modernizing academic and administrative
operations in primary education. This study aimed to evaluate the system’s
implementation, focusing on user satisfaction, ease of use, system efficiency, data
accuracy, and its overall impact on reducing administrative workload. The findings from
this analysis provide critical insights into the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for
enhancing the system in the future.
The adoption of AMIS has positively impacted the school’s operational workflow,
particularly for teachers, administrative staff, and the school management team. User
satisfaction emerged as one of the key strengths of the system, as most respondents
indicated that the AMIS significantly facilitated tasks such as accessing student data,
generating reports, and managing attendance records. Teachers reported that the system
reduced the time previously spent on manual data entry and paperwork, enabling them to
focus more on instructional activities. Administrative staff highlighted that AMIS
streamlined student registration and report generation, leading to improved overall
efficiency.
Another notable strength of AMIS at SDN Batutulus 2 is its ease of use. Most users,
including teachers with minimal technical experience, found the system interface to be
intuitive and simple to navigate. This ease of use is critical for the adoption of technology
in educational institutions, especially in primary schools where users may not always be
proficient in information systems. The straightforward design and clarity of instructions
enabled users to operate the system with minimal training, reducing resistance to the
adoption of technology.
System efficiency, however, presented mixed results. While the AMIS generally
performed well during normal usage, several respondents noted a slower response time
during peak periods, such as during the submission of grades or generation of reports at the
end of a semester. Delays in system response can cause inconvenience and may affect the
overall perception of system efficiency. Addressing this issue would require enhancing the
system’s infrastructure, such as increasing server capacity or optimizing data processes, to
ensure smooth operation during high-demand periods.
The analysis also revealed challenges related to data accuracy. Some teachers and staff
reported occasional errors during data input and output processes. These errors were often
attributed to human mistakes during manual data entry, which highlights the need for
additional training sessions to improve user competency. Moreover, incorporating
automated validation features into the system can minimize errors by alerting users to
inconsistencies or missing information during data entry. Ensuring data accuracy is crucial,
as schools rely heavily on accurate records for decision-making and reporting purposes.
A significant benefit of the AMIS implementation is its positive impact on administrative
workload. Both teachers and administrative staff experienced a considerable reduction in
the time spent on repetitive tasks, such as attendance recording, grade calculation, and
report generation. For instance, generating student performance reports, which previously
required several hours of manual work, could now be completed in a matter of minutes
using AMIS. This reduction in workload not only enhances productivity but also allows
teachers to allocate more time to lesson planning, instructional activities, and student
engagement. Administrative staff reported improved coordination and organization of
school records, leading to more efficient school management.
However, while AMIS has demonstrated clear benefits, the study also highlights areas for
improvement. One key recommendation is to address the system performance issues
identified during peak usage periods. Upgrading the system’s infrastructure, optimizing its
processes, and ensuring adequate technical support can help improve performance.
Additionally, regular system maintenance and updates are necessary to ensure long-term
reliability and effectiveness.
Training and capacity-building initiatives are also essential for improving user proficiency
and minimizing data entry errors. While the system is user-friendly, ongoing training
sessions can equip teachers and staff with the skills needed to maximize the system’s
capabilities. Workshops, hands-on tutorials, and troubleshooting sessions can help users
gain confidence in operating the system and utilizing its full range of features.
Furthermore, to address concerns regarding data accuracy, implementing automated
validation tools and quality control mechanisms can help ensure reliable data input and
reporting. The integration of error-detection features would enhance data accuracy and
improve user trust in the system. This step is particularly important for academic
management systems, where data integrity directly impacts decision-making processes and
the overall efficiency of the school’s operations.
In conclusion, the implementation of the Academic Management Information System at
SDN Batutulus 2 has brought about substantial improvements in school management,
teacher workload, and administrative efficiency. The system has proven to be user-friendly
and effective in addressing many of the challenges previously faced by the school.
However, areas such as system efficiency during peak usage, user training, and data
accuracy require further improvement to fully realize the potential of the AMIS.
To ensure the continued success of the system, the school administration must focus on
regular system updates, performance optimizations, and comprehensive training programs.
Additionally, fostering a culture of technology adoption and continuous improvement
among staff will further enhance the system’s benefits. By addressing these challenges,
SDN Batutulus 2 can set a benchmark for other primary schools seeking to modernize their
academic and administrative processes through the use of technology.
Overall, the findings of this study demonstrate that the successful implementation of AMIS
has a transformative impact on the educational environment, enabling the school to operate
more efficiently and effectively. As technology continues to play an increasingly important
role in education, investing in robust systems like AMIS will be crucial for improving the
quality of education and administrative processes in schools. SDN Batutulus 2’s
experience serves as a valuable example for other educational institutions looking to
embrace digital transformation and enhance their operational capabilities.
