Tech for Viksit Bharat

In the Modern world of 21st Century, Technology is a Prerequisite for Development of an

Individual, Community and even the entire Country. So, Technology Definitely plays a key
role in the development of our country and indeed it has completely transformed our
country in past few decades. Technology has been Implemented in almost every Sector like
Defence, Healthcare, Education, Banking, Logistics etc, But I strongly feel that There are 2
Main Sectors where Use of Technology can be done on a larger scale as compared to before
and Seek more Growth in them and they are Agriculture and Waste Management. Tech is
Indeed used in these Sectors but I feel maximising its use will surely be beneficial for both
The Sectors.
Agriculture not only Contributes to about 18-19% of Our Countries Economy but also helps
to Feed and Sustain our Population, which is Indeed very Important for a healthy Nation. In
Agriculture what I have Observed is that Technology is used but at a small scale and also
Mostly by the Well to do Farmers and Individuals. But what I feel is that agriculture being a
backbone of our Country we must develop it, for a faster production of Commodities and
making life of Thousands of Farmers easy. Modern Tractors (with AI), Ploughing Machines,
Automated Field Harvesters are Some Technologies used in Agriculture. But the problem
with these heavy Machineries is that as they are imported from Abroad, they are not cost
efficient and hence stops the Middle-class farmers from using it. Ony 15-20 percent of the
Farmers are so that can afford this tech and use it. If somehow, we could reduce the cost of
such tech so Small and Marginal Farmers would be able to afford it and use it would be very
Useful for Our Country and will surely Lead to a larger contribution in the GDP of the
Country.
I as a Growing Youth of the country want to resolve this problem, I want to Create more and
more Products Like the ones mentioned above and also a few which are not in production
throughout the world using Tech and at an Affordable Cost to cater Especially the Small and
Marginal Farmers. I believe this Sector of what I would like to call “Agritech” has the
potential of becoming the next Major Industrial Giant in our Country. I Have ideas of
Creating a few Simple Products which have the potential to accelerate the agriculture sector.
First of all, I wish to Design a Tractor which Uses AI and Machine Learning, It would have a
Screen which would give Vitals like Weather Report, Rain and Hailstorm Warning, Best time
of the Day to Work on the Field, it would also Display Groundwater Reserves and Soil quality
and Depth at a Particular Point using Sensors attached at the Base of the Vehicle. The tractor
would have a Smart Function to Come out by itself if it is Stuck in any Situation. Second
Product what I want to manufacture is an Automatic Harvester which can be attached to any
Tractor at its Back. This machine would have the ability to Harvest, Segregate, remove weeds
and Organise the Products (Harvest) at the same time and would also Store it until Further
use, this will help us to reduce Man power Drastically and also Save time. I also Wish to use
Drones for Agricultural betterment, we can use them to transport Vital Agricultural Products
on time, spraying pesticides and Fertiliser to get a larger yield. I would manufacture all these
Machineries in India reducing the cost yet providing the Best Quality. As our Honourable PM
sir Has been Providing the best Support for Growing Entrepreneurs under the “Make in
India” scheme I feel it would be the best opportunity to Avail it, Making the products in India
would reduce the Cost Drastically and I would also provide Easy EMI and other payment
options for Farmers for their Ease and Convenience. This Idea can be made into reality solely
by the opportunities, Funds and Support Provided to Young Minds Like us.
Apart from Agriculture, we can use tech in Waste Management as well. India generates
around 1.7 lakh Metric Tonnes of Waste daily, where we have the best technology for
processing the waste, thanks to Biotechnological Advancements, but we lack the technology
to Segregate the waste, which would make the step of processing waste easier. The only
reason for this is the fact that Separation of Dry and wet waste is not followed at the root
level, that is at Home and Public Dustbins. Due to which the waste management at times
becomes Difficult. For this I have a idea of making an AI Smart Dustbin which will help us
solving this issue, the dustbin would be the same like a normal metal dustbin but would
have a AI based lid along with Sensors and cameras that Open only if the Disposed Waste is
of the type programmed in the dustbin, for example a Dustbin for Dry waste and plastic
bottles will not open if the disposed waste is Wet waste and Vice versa. This will not only
help us separate waste at Homes but also in Industries.
The above-mentioned Ideas both in agriculture and Waste management I believe would help
Resolve the major issues in both the sectors and Accelerate their Growth. They can be
Improvised Solely under the Support of Various Schemes provided by our Honourable PM sir
which will lead to one step closer Towards making India a Better Nation Tomorrow.
