Use the following exercises to explore the features you’ve learned in the previous lessons.

Modify and view user parameter changes


Estimated duration: 5 minutes

In this exercise, you will set a default user entry transaction for journal entry.

View current entry transaction

1. In Financials> Journals, select Journal entry.


2. Select 1PAGE, Transaction selection.
3. Click Close page.
4. In Setup> users> users, select Parameters tab.
5. In Accounting (Chapter), at the DEF (Default values) group, click the Actions icon and
then select Detail.
6. In the Parameter SCHSAISIE - Entry transaction, select 1PAGE and click OK.
7. Click Save and Close the page. *Note: you do not need to log out for user parameter
changes.
View default Entry transaction
8. In Financials> Journals, select Journal entry.
9. Click Close page.

Modify and view currency default parameter


Estimated duration: 10 minutes
In this exercise, change default currency.

View current default currency

1. In Common data> Products, select Products.


2. Select Sales tab, view Base price field currency.
Change default currency
3. In Setup> General parameters, select Parameter values.
4. In Left list, expand TC Common data (Chapter) and expand Folders, select SEED
folder.
5. At the CUR (Currency Management) group, click the Actions icon and then select
Detail.
6. In Parameters CURSHRFLD - Common field currency & RTZCUR - Currency used,
select USD in the value field.
7. Click OK, Save and Close page.

8. Log out & Log in.
View new default currency
9. In Common data> Products, select Products.
10. Select Sales tab, view Base price field currency change.
11. Close page.

Modify and view default date range parameter


Estimated duration: 10 minutes
In this exercise, modify default date range parameter and view the change A/P-A/R
accounting > Inquiries > Payments.

1. In the A/P-A/R accounting > Inquires, Select Payments. Make note of the Start date
and End date. ___________________
2. In Setup > General Parameters, select Parameter values.
3. In the Parameter values Left list, expand SUP Supervisor > Folder.
4. Select the SEED folder.
5. At the DEF (Default Values) group, click the Actions icon and then select Detail.
6. In the Parameter values window displayed, enter 01/01/2015 for the DATEDEBDFT
Default start date value and enter 12/31/2015 for the DATEFINDFT Default end
date.
7. Click OK, and then click Save and close the page.
8. Log out and Log In.
9. In the A/P-A/R accounting > Inquires, select Payments. Make note of Start date and
End date. ___________________
10. Close the page.

Use the following situations to explore the features you’ve learned in the previous lessons.

Export data to Excel


Estimated duration: 10 minutes
You been asked to export sales order data (List page) to an Excel spreadsheet and also
format the Excel spreadsheet.

1. Select Read-only pages from Mega menu and then open Sales Orders from the Sales
block.
2. Click Excel in the Right panel.
3. Select the No template option and accept the selection.
4. Select Open with (Microsoft Excel) and OK.
5. In the connection window, use admin for the user ID/password.
6. Based on security and settings defined on your browser, you may have additional
prompts to allow for the data to display.
7. If you are prompted to install the Sage X3 Office Addin, follow the installation steps
you learned in the previous lesson.
8. In Excel, you may need to click the Enable Editing button.
9. Select Sage tab and Data Sources.
10. Select Modify and Delivery drop down & select Not Delivered.
11. Select green arrow and Apply.
12. Close Data Sources and view changes.
13. Hi-light first 10 lines and delete.
14. Select File and Save As to Desktop.
15. Close Excel.
16. Open spreadsheet, Log into X3 when prompted.
17. Select Refresh option and view changes, Save and close spreadsheet.
18. Select Back to close Sales Orders Read Only pages.

Export data to Microsoft Word template


Estimated duration: 10 minutes
In this exercise, export data in a view into Microsoft Word template.

1. Select Read-only pages from Mega menu and select Common data> Customer
categories.
2. Click Word in the Right panel.
3. In the Word report window, select the Create template option and accept the selection.
4. When prompted to open or save the document, select to open the document with
Microsoft Word and click OK. (May take 20-30 seconds for format to load)
Note: You may need to click the Enable Editing button at the top of the Word window.

Based on security and settings defined on your browser, you may have additional
prompts to allow for the data to display.

5. In the connection window that appears, type admin for the user ID and password and
click OK.
6. Select Sage tab and select Preview magnifying glass.
Note: Results opens new Microsoft Word window and may take 30+ seconds.
7. Close Word twice without saving and Back to close Read-only pages.

Export data to PowerPoint slide


Estimated duration: 5 minutes
In this exercise, export data into a PowerPoint slide.

1. Select Director landing page in right panel.


2. In Sales by Customer inquiry, select Show graph, if not selected.
3. Select Action icon and Create PowerPoint slide.
4. Select Open and OK.
5. In the connection window that appears, type admin for the user ID and password and
click OK. (May take 10-20 seconds for results)
6. View results and Close PowerPoint without saving.
