BMW RECYCLING
BMW minimizes the impact on the environment over the entire life of a vehicle - from manufacturing to
use and service to recycling. The foundation stone for its environmentally sound recycling is already laid
during the development and production of every new BMW vehicle. By consistently applying „Design
for Recycling“, BMW ensures the efficient recycling of its end-of-life vehicles.

ENVIRONMENTALLY SOUND VEHICLE UTILIZATION

The recycling of end-of-life vehicles takes place in recognised dismantling plants for end-of-life vehicles.
Every kilogram of car scrap is fed into the ecologically and economically optimal recovery route. Valuable
raw materials are returned to the production cycle and the environment is relieved. The controlled return,
pre-treatment, dismantling and recovery of the residual vehicle are the four stages of environmentally
sound recycling of end-of-life vehicles.
