About the college
THK Jain College
A self-financed, minority (JAIN) Institution, was established on 23rd June
2006 by Shree Shwetambar Sthanakvasi Jain Sabha (Shree S.S. Jain
Sabha). Affiliated with the University of Calcutta, the college boasts a
sprawling campus where education is delightful. In 2006, we started with
only a couple of hundred students but with rigorous hard work and
struggle, we are now a 7,500 strong family and aim to grow with each
academic orbit. We provide excellent education to a passionate student
body, admitting eligible pupils regardless of linguistic, religious, or regional
background. The college has completed it`s sixteen years journey toward
the dawn of excellence and emerged with the laurel of the accreditation of
NAAC with a B+ Grade, achieved in the First Cycle in the year 2016. Over all
these years, it has opened its door for every eligible student and inspired
them to realize their potential. We are constantly striving to develop and
bestow learning-focused education in the students.
We have a spacious cafeteria and separate standard rooms for indoor
games facilities, a beautiful well stocked library, with nearly 10,000 holdings
and several internet-enabled computers for research purposes. Sports are
encouraged with inspiration, and education is given the same importance
as we provide separate labs for every subject like FNTA (food & nutrition
lab), Microbiology, Chemistry, Zoology, and many more. We provide an anti
ragging cell and women's cell to maximize the security of our students
which we take very seriously. Our mission is to ensure the awakening and
awareness of the students by providing quality education and helping
them prepare for the future beyond campus by nurturing and inculcating
the ability to face new challenges.

About Ripples
Continuation of the Lineage

The biggest cultural festival in our college calendar Ripples, is returning to

THK Jain College for its fifth edition. Our cultural festival's main subject is
recognizing good deeds and giving the numerous businesses that donate
the suitable and essential platform on stage so they can outfit. We believe
in promoting creative ideas and a platform for students, to share their
knowledge through Ripples. The events which are conducted in Ripples can
be broadly classified into the following sections like- Iconic Events,
Performers Showcase, Crafted Elegance , Marketing Summit , Echoes Of
Change, The Fitness Zone & many more.
Get ready to make unforgettable memories and groove to electrifying
music! This year, we’re thrilled to welcome the incredibly talented Nikhita
Gandhi as our guest artist for the second day of Ripples 2024. Just like in
past years, when celebrated stars like Jubin Nautiyal, Arjun Kanungo,
Darshan Raval, and Sachin-Jigar lit up our stage, this year promises to be
even more spectacular.

General guidelines
The two College representatives attending the final meeting before
Ripples will be considered the Official Representatives for Ripples 2024
only.
All the participants must carry their valid college ID cards.
The organizers are not liable to reimburse any traveling expenses
incurred by any college.
The registration desk shall close down thirty minutes prior to the event.
The colleges are required to send in one team to represent their college
in each event. Exceptions in few events.
No substitutions shall be entertained. The registered teams for the
preliminary round must perform in finals if it qualifies.
Cross Colleges or open teams shall not be allowed.
Obscenity or vulgarity in any form in an event will lead to immediate
disqualification. If the participant feels that any outfit/performance can
be deemed vulgar, it is strongly advised to consult the organizers before
putting it on stage.
In case of any dispute arousing due to this, decision of the organizers
will be final.
No weapons will be allowed in the College premises (chains, knuckles,
pen knives, lighters, etc.).
Inflammable objects are prohibited.
All given Pen-drive must be queued and named. Management shall not
be responsible for problems such as skipping (In Audio Format).
The management shall not be responsible for the loss, damage, theft,
etc of any personal belongings.
Damaging or tampering with any kind of College property shall be
considered a serious offense.
Prop list, song, and participation list must be submitted in the last
Ripple's Representatives meeting. Not listing any of the above will result
in disqualification.
Organizers reserve the right to modify the rules and regulations (if
required).
On The Spot Entry (OTSE), is subject to the availability of the slots.
Multiple registrations shall not be entertained (exceptions in some
events).
The decision of the judges or moderators shall be final and binding for
all the events.
Chewing pan masala, smoking, drinking, or any other related activities
are prohibited in the college

Registration rules
All the representatives of the participating colleges are
required to submit their participation list two days prior to the
final Representative meeting at [email protected].
All events have limited time slots, so registration will take
place on a first come, first-served basis.
On the date of the event, the College Representatives must
report to the registration desk one hour prior to the event with
valid college ID.
The registration desk shall close down thirty minutes prior to
the event.

About the event
"Elegance with a Twist" Prepare for an event that redefines
classic charm and bold style. In “Mr. & Miss. Ripples,” contestants
go beyond the conventional. This is where confidence and
creativity intertwine, as participants are encouraged to reshape
their self-expression and challenge the norms of beauty and
personality from posed walks to electrifying Q&A rounds, this
event celebrates those who see the world with a fresh
perspective, leaving an unforgettable mark on Ripples.

Guidelines
Number of participants: 1 male & 1 female participant from each
college.
The event comprises of two rounds-
1. ROUND 1: Walk, Introduction & QNA ROUND.
2. ROUND 2: Talent Showcase.
Time Limit for Round 2 will be 60 seconds.
The Prop list must be submitted on the day of the second
representative meeting.

into the extraordinary. Through experimental cuts, vibrant
textures, and unexpected pairings, this show turns the runway
into a realm where fashion speaks, surprises, and inspires.

Guidelines
Number of participants from each college: 10+2.
Number of Accompanists: 2.

2. Round 2: Battle (1 minute each participant)
3. Round 3: Ultimate Showdown (1 minute each participant).
No foul languages will be allowed.
Original compositions are appreciated.

A stress interview is a type of interview designed to assess how a
candidate handles pressure, challenging situations, and difficult
questions.

Guidelines
Number of participants: 1 from each college.
Additional rules and regulations are to be disclosed by the judges
on spot.
Participants have to carry their Resume along with them on the
day of the event.
Participants have to submit a consent letter duly signed by their
parents on the day of the event.
No kind of abusive actions or gestures are to be entertained.
The verdict of the judges would be final and obligatory.

Time Limit : 3+2 minute
Language : English.
The topic will be disclosed at the 2nd representative meeting.
The content should be creative and original.
Each individual should bring their own phones/ laptops.
Plagiarized content will lead to disqualification.
The verdict of the judges would be final and obligatory.

aspiring filmmakers from colleges across the region. Whether
you're a film enthusiast, a budding director, or simply someone
who enjoys a good story, this is the place to be!From gripping
drama to laugh-out-loud comedy, experience fresh
perspectives and unique storytelling that pushes the boundaries
of traditional cinema. Each film promises to captivate, inspire,
and spark meaningful conversations.

Guidelines
Number of participants: 2 from each college.
Film duration: 6+2 minutes including credits.
Films can be in any language of your comfort.
All films, irrespective of their language, should have English
Subtitles.
Final video must be uploaded in .mp4 format only.
The uploaded video must be in 1080p HD and must be below 3GB
and mail at [email protected] one day prior to the event.
Theme to be disclosed on the 2nd Representative Meeting.
Plagiarism is strictly forbidden and will lead to disqualification,
only original content is allowed.
Explicit words, gestures, and actions are strictly forbidden.
The verdict of the judges would be ultimate and obligatory.
