1.How can we limit the harmful effects of disasters on our lives?

To limit the negative impact of disasters on our lives

Actually, being well-prepared can help people a lot when it comes to reducing the
loss in terms of both people and money. Before the catastrophe, the government
should build an evacuation plan so that the locals' safety could be guaranteed. At
the same time, the media should keep the news updated around the clock, so
others will not approach dangerous places.
-Well, to my mind, it is not an easy task to accomplish by any individual country or
organization, but it requires the collaboration of the whole world. What I mean by
this is that as the world is suffering severe consequences from human activities, it is
every nation’s responsibility to tackle the problem altogether. The first step should
be taken from where the climate change originates, which is to decrease the
greenhouse gas emissions.
2. How does climate change influence international security and geopolitical
stability?
Climate change has profound impact for international security and geopolitics in a
number of ways. First, it causes scarcity of resources. Climate change leads to
droughts, crop failures, and water scarcity, increasing competition for essential
resources, especially in vulnerable regions.
Second, extreme weather events such as floods, droughts and wildfires force
millions of people to migrate, creating waves of refugees, putting pressure on host
countries and increasing regional tensions.
In addition, climate change threatens important infrastructure such as ports, roads
and energy, directly affecting global economic security. Some states are vying for
control of new resources by melting Arctic ice, increasing the risk of military conflict.
Furthermore, a lack of international cooperation in responding to climate change
can weaken alliances and create new geopolitical conflicts.

3.What are the challenges and opportunities of multilateralism in addressing

global issues?

Multilateralism faces many challenges and opportunities when addressing

global issues.

Challenges:

1.countries have different goals and priorities, which can make it hard to reach
agreements.

2. Sometimes, Powerful countries can control decisions, making smaller countries

feel ignored.

3.It takes a long time to make decisions because many countries are involved and
the process is complex

4.Language and cultural differences can cause misunderstandings.

Opportunities: However, there are many opportunities too.

1.Countries can work together to solve big problems like climate change and
pandemics.

2.They can share resources, ideas, and knowledge to find better solutions.

3.Multilateralism promotes peace by encouraging dialogue and cooperation.

4.Working together allows countries to innovate and develop faster.

Overall, while multilateralism has challenges, it is an important way to address global

problems.

4.Many students who cannot find a job after graduation decide to pursue a
master's degree. Do you think that is the right thing to do?

Pursuing a master’s degree after graduation can be a valuable choice, but it

depends on individual goals and circumstances. If the degree provides specialized
knowledge or skills that enhance employability in a desired field, it can be a smart
investment.

However, pursuing further education solely to delay entering the job market may not
be the best approach, as it could lead to more debt without guaranteed job
prospects. Practical experience through internships, freelance work, or volunteering
can sometimes be more beneficial than an additional degree. Ultimately, students
should carefully evaluate their career goals, the value of the degree, and the job
market before making a decision.

5. Many students like open-ended exams. What do you think about it?

Open-ended exams offer students the opportunity to demonstrate critical thinking,

creativity, and a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Unlike multiple-choice
tests, these exams encourage students to apply knowledge, analyze problems, and
articulate their ideas clearly. They can be especially beneficial for those who excel in
writing and complex reasoning. However, they may also be challenging for students
who struggle with organizing their thoughts under time pressure. Overall, they are
valuable for assessing higher-order thinking skills but require clear rubrics to ensure
fairness.

6.What are the advantages of studying online courses compared to traditional

in-person classes?

Studying online courses offers several advantages over traditional in-person

classes. First, it provides flexibility, allowing students to learn at their own pace and
from anywhere, making it easier for those who work or have other responsibilities.
Secondly, Online learning also often gives students access to a wider range of
courses and resources, giving students more options to explore.
Third, it saves time and money since students do not need to travel to a physical
classroom.
Additionally, it helps improve self-discipline and time management skills. However,
it may lack the face-to-face interaction that fosters immediate feedback and social
connection. Overall, online courses make education more accessible and convenient
for many people.

7. What impact do festivals have on the local economy?

Festivals have a significant impact on the local economy in various ways. They boost
local businesses by increasing sales for shops, restaurants, and hotels, as more
visitors come to the area. Tourism growth as festivals attract tourists, benefiting the
hospitality and transportation sectors. Additionally, festivals create temporary jobs in
event planning, security, and for local vendors.

The increased economic activity also generates higher tax revenue for the local
government through sales and tourism taxes. Festivals showcase local culture by
promoting traditional products, crafts, and foods, further enhancing the area’s
reputation.

and facilities. However, there are potential drawbacks, including overcrowding,
higher prices for locals, and possible environmental damage. Despite these
challenges, festivals generally provide a positive boost to the local economy and
community.

8. Some young people want to abandon the Lunar New Year in Vietnam to
follow the world. What do you think about this issue?

Abandoning the Lunar New Year in Vietnam would mean losing a vital part of the
country’s cultural identity and heritage. The Lunar New Year, or Tết, is more than
just a celebration—it is a time for family reunions, honoring ancestors, and
preserving long-standing traditions. While globalization offers many opportunities, it
should not come at the cost of erasing unique cultural values. Embracing modernity
does not require abandoning tradition; instead, both can coexist. The Lunar New
Year fosters a sense of belonging and national pride, which are essential in an
increasingly interconnected world. Therefore, preserving this tradition is crucial for
maintaining Vietnam’s rich cultural legacy.

ties and foster mutual understanding between nations?

diplomatic ties and fostering mutual understanding between nations. These events
provide a platform for countries to showcase their unique traditions, art, music, and
cuisine, allowing people from diverse backgrounds to experience different cultures.
By participating in such festivals, individuals gain a deeper understanding of each
other’s values and way of life, which helps to break down stereotypes and
misconceptions. Governments often support these festivals as a form of cultural
diplomacy, to build goodwill and trust among nations.
Furthermore, cultural exchanges during these events encourage collaboration in
areas such as education, tourism, and trade. They also create opportunities for many
jobs. As a result, these festivals not only promote cultural diversity but also
contribute to peaceful international relations. In an increasingly interconnected world,
such events help to bridge cultural gaps and build lasting friendships between
countries.

10. Do you think people are more likely to believe true or false information
today? Why or why not?

People today are more likely to believe false information than in the past, and there
are several reasons for this. First, the rise of social media has made it easy to
spread misinformation quickly to large audiences. Many people share information
without checking if it is true because it fits their beliefs or emotions. Second, fake
news is often designed to be more exciting or shocking, which grabs attention more
than facts. Additionally, with so much information available online, it can be hard to
tell what is reliable. However, some people are becoming more aware and cautious,
learning to fact-check before believing everything they see. Overall, the digital age
makes it both easier to access truth and more challenging to avoid falsehoods.
