Narrative Report: English Month Celebration
The English Month Celebration with the theme, English as a global language:
bridging cultures, connecting the world, was an exciting event designed to cultivate
students’ language skills and foster a deeper appreciation for English. Spanning various
activities from academic competitions to creative performances, the celebration
showcased the talents of students across all grade levels. The school grounds at Regina
Angelorum School, particularly the Quadrangle and Science Laboratory, served as the
central venues for these engaging events, which culminated in a grand program on
December 4, 2024.
The celebration was launched on November 04, 2024 and the first activiyt began
on November 8, 2024, with the first day focused on Spelling Bee competitions. At 8:00
AM, high school students from Grades 7 to 12 gathered at the Quadrangle to compete.
After several challenging rounds, the contest narrowed to two finalists: Princess Niel D.
Simacon from Grade 9 St. Luke and Grezel Magallanes from Grade 10 St. Matthew. In
the end, Grezel Magallanes secured the victory. Simultaneously, at 9:00 AM, the
elementary students' Spelling Bee took place in the Science Laboratory, showcasing the
younger participants' linguistic skills.
The second day, held on November 11, 2024, brought activities closer to the
students' classrooms. A Trivia competition, conducted at 8:00 AM, allowed each class
to participate in a fun and interactive test of knowledge specifically in Literature. The
students in secondary level have all participated in the said challenge. Meanwhile, the
Science Laboratory hosted a News Writing competition at 9:00 AM, providing an
opportunity for aspiring student-journalists to exhibit their creativity and technical
writing skills. The said competition covered general news topic. With that being said,
participants have chosen any topic to cover.
The month-long celebration culminated on December 4, 2024, with a grand
program held at the Quadrangle. The entire school community gathered to witness the
event. At 8:00 AM, kindergarten students opened the program with a delightful fictional
character portrayal, captivating the audience with their creativity and charm. Every
kindergarten student wore their chosen fictional character and had their poses in the
stage. Following this, Poem Reading from elementary level was held, where they
expressed emotions, ideas, and experiences through Literature: poetry.
Around 10:00 AM, declamation contest followed from the secondary level,
where students shown their literary and oratorical prowess. In the afternoon, the focus
shifted to the highlight of the celebration which is, Radion Broadcasting competition,
which highlighted students’ ability to create and deliver engaging media presentations.
The festivities concluded with an awarding ceremony that celebrated the winners and
participants from all events throughout the month. The English Month Celebration at
Regina Angelorum School was a vibrant and memorable occasion, emphasizing the
importance of language skills while fostering creativity and camaraderie among
students. The use of the school’s Quadrangle and Science Laboratory as key venues
added a sense of unity to the events. The culmination program on December 4, 2024,
served as a fitting finale to a month of inspiring and enriching activities, leaving a lasting
impression on all attendees.
