PREAMBLE:
Katsina State Institute of Technology and Management (KSITM) is a state-of-the-
art Institution with a dual status Polytechnic and Innovation Enterprise Institution
(IEI) leading to the award of National Innovation Diploma (NID) and National
Diploma (ND) as approved by National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
Following the approval of His Excellency the Governor of Katsina State, Malam
Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, CON for the recruitment of additional Academic Staff in
the Institute, Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates with
a high level of integrity, commitment to teaching, research, excellence and passion
for innovations to fill the under-listed Academic positions in the Institute.

1. SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY

Qualifications and Experience
a. Senior Lecturer - CONPCASS 07
Candidate applying for this position must possessed a Doctorate Degree in
Library and Information Science from a recognized Institution, NYSC
Discharge/Exemption Certificate; plus at least six (6) years teaching and
research experience in an Institution of higher learning with at least three (3)

conference/seminar paper and three (3) journal article accepted for publication.
OR
Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science obtained from a
recognized Institution, NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate with at least
nine (9) years of teaching and research experience in an Institution of higher
learning with at least three (3) papers accepted for publication in reputable
journals or two (2) meaningful chapters’ contribution in standard textbook(s)
plus three (3) conference/seminar paper. Registration with recognized
professional body is mandatory.

b. Lecturer I - CONPCASS 06
Candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science obtained
from a recognized Institution of higher learning, NYSC Discharge/Exemption
Certificate; plus at least three (3) years of teaching/research experience in an
Institution of higher learning with at least two (2) conference/seminar papers
and two (2) journal article accepted for publication. OR
Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science obtained from a
recognized Institution, NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate with at least
six (6) years of teaching /research experience in an Institution of higher
learning in addition to presentation of two (2) conference/seminar papers and
two (2) journal article accepted for publication. Registration with recognized
professional body is mandatory.

c. Lecturer II - CONPCASS 05

Candidate must hold a PhD in Library and Information Science obtained


from a recognized Institution of higher learning with NYSC
Discharge/Exemption Certificate; OR
Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science obtained from a
recognized Institution, NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate with at least
three (3) years of teaching /research experience in an Institution of higher
learning in addition to presentation of two (2) conference/seminar papers or
one (1) journal article accepted for publication. OR
Bachelor’s degree not below Second Class lower (2:2) in Library and
Information Science obtained from a recognized Institution, NYSC
discharge/Exemption certificate with at least six (6) years relevant teaching
experience in a tertiary Institution. In addition to presentation of two (2)
conference/seminar papers or one (1) journal article accepted for publication.
Registration with recognized professional body is mandatory.

A candidate must hold a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science


obtained from a recognized Institution with NYSC Discharge/Exemption
Certificate; OR
Bachelor’s degree not below Second Class lower (2:2) in Library and
Information Science obtained from a recognized Institution, NYSC
discharge/Exemption certificate with at least three (3) years relevant teaching
experience in a tertiary Institution.

research experience in an Institution of higher learning with at least three (3)
conference/seminar paper and three (3) journals article accepted for
publication. OR
Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering/Master’s Degree in
Telecommunication obtained from a recognized Institution, NYSC
Discharge/Exemption Certificate with at least nine (9) years of teaching and
research experience in an Institution of higher learning with at least three (3)
papers accepted for publication in reputable journals or two (2) meaningful
chapters’ contribution in standard textbook(s) plus three (3)
conference/seminar paper. Registration with recognized professional body is
mandatory.

Candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering obtained from a
recognized Institution of higher learning, NYSC Discharge/Exemption
Certificate; plus at least three (3) years of teaching/research experience in an
Institution of higher learning with at least two (2) conference/seminar papers
and two (2) journals article accepted for publication. OR
Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering/ Master’s Degree in
Telecommunication obtained from a recognized Institution, NYSC
Discharge/Exemption Certificate with at least six (6) years of teaching
/research experience in an Institution of higher learning in addition to

c. Technologist I - CONPCASS 03

A candidate must hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer


Engineering at a credit level from a recognized Institution plus at least three
(3) years post qualification cognate experience.

Bachelor’s degree not below Second Class lower (2:2) in Computer Science or
Computer Software Engineering obtained from a recognized Institution,
NYSC discharge/Exemption certificate with at least three (3) years relevant
teaching experience in a tertiary Institution.

e. Senior Instructor - CONPCASS 03

A candidate must hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer


Science at a minimum of credit level obtained from a recognized Institution,
NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate with at least six (6) years of teaching
in an Institution of higher learning or industrial work experience. In addition
to one (1) publication in journal or two (2) papers presentation.

OR
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering obtained from a recognized

years of teaching /research experience in an Institution of higher learning in
addition to presentation of two (2) conference/seminar papers or one (1)
journal article accepted for publication. OR
Bachelor’s degree not below Second Class lower (2:2) in Electrical
Engineering obtained from a recognized Institution, NYSC
discharge/Exemption certificate with at least six (6) years relevant teaching

A candidate must hold a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering obtained
from a recognized Institution with NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate;

Bachelor’s degree not below Second Class lower (2:2) Electrical Engineering
obtained from a recognized Institution, NYSC discharge/Exemption certificate
with at least three (3) years relevant teaching experience in a tertiary
Institution.

Master’s Degree in Accountancy obtained from a recognized Institution, NYSC

NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate with at least three (3) years of
teaching /research experience in an Institution of higher learning in addition to
presentation of two (2) conference/seminar papers or one (1) journal article
accepted for publication and a score of minimum of ‘good’ grade/remark in
the teaching evaluation. OR
Bachelor’s degree not below Second Class lower (2:2) in Accountancy
obtained from a recognized Institution, NYSC discharge/Exemption certificate
with at least six (6) years relevant teaching experience in a tertiary Institution.
In addition to presentation of two (2) conference/seminar papers or one (1)
journal article accepted for publication. Registration with recognized
professional body is mandatory.

d. Lecturer III - CONPCASS 03

A candidate must hold a Master’s Degree in Accountancy, Banking and


Finance obtained from a recognized Institution with NYSC
Discharge/Exemption Certificate; OR
Bachelor’s degree not below Second Class lower (2:2) in Accounting/Banking
and Finance obtained from a recognized Institution, NYSC
discharge/Exemption certificate with at least three (3) years relevant teaching
experience in a tertiary Institution.

e. Senior Instructor - CONPCASS 03

A holder of Higher National Diploma in Accountancy at a minimum of credit


level obtained from a recognized Institution of higher learning NYSC
Discharge/Exemption Certificate with at least six (6) years of teaching in an
Institution of higher learning or industrial work experience. In addition to one
(1) publication in journal or two (2) paper presentation.

Master’s Degree in law obtained from a recognized Institution, NYSC
Discharge/Exemption Certificate with at least three (3) years of teaching
/research experience in an Institution of higher learning in addition to
presentation of two (2) conference/seminar papers or one (1) journal article
accepted for publication. OR
Bachelor’s degree not below Second Class lower (2:2) in Law obtained from
a recognized Institution, NYSC discharge/Exemption certificate with at least
six (6) years relevant teaching experience in a tertiary Institution. In addition
to presentation of two (2) conference/seminar papers or one (1) journal article
accepted for publication. Registration with recognized professional body is
mandatory.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Each candidate is required to submit ten (10) copies of their applications with
curriculum vitae and photocopy of certificates to the Registrar not later than
two (2) weeks from the date of this publication. The position being applied for
must be boldly and clearly written on the envelopes with which the applications
