INTRODUCTION

REASON FOR AREA SELECTION
Bay View originally was a plantation area which has now been developed into a
residential community and home to many people of la Romain. There are two
secondary schools, many residential areas. It is located on the outskirts of San
Fernando, also in very close proximity to stores, hospitals, malls etc. As a
resident it was of interest to me to understand the level of knowledge and
awareness that fellow residents have on the topic of AIDS and HIV as this is a
lifestyle disease and can be prevented.

COPY OF QUESTIONNAIRE
Dear Villager,
● This survey is being carried out in Bayview, La Romaine
to determine the level of awareness of Aids(HIV).This
study is being conducted as an assignment for a Social
Studies course at which myself and fellow group
members are pursuing at the present moment.
● You are advised to answer the following questions honestly and truthfully.
Since you do not have to write your names anywhere, no one will ever know
who answered in a particular way. Remember this is not a test. There is no
correct or wrong way to answer. Most questions can be answered by adding
a ‘tick’ in the box □ next to the response that you desire to choose. Specific
instructions are given where necessary.

RECOMMENDATIONS
The importance of persons being aware of AIDS(HIV) plays a major part in our
fight against HIV/AIDS, it simply means that educating individuals on this disease
will teach them about how it is contracted, prevention and treatment ,This will
