PH 404 TUTORIAL 1

Fill in the blanks in this table. Imagine there are n boxes and r balls. You have to fill all the balls into the
boxes. There is no restriction on how many balls each box can hold (zero is also allowed). Here “YES” means
the object is labelled. If balls are labelled that means you can say which ball is which. Also “NO” means
they are perfectly identical. So there are 4 possibilities. Both balls and boxes are identical. Both balls and
boxes are labelled. Only boxes are labelled, Only balls are labelled.
