Sensors and Detectors Signal Optimization and Prioritization

*The equation below aids to a major flaw of a conventional smoke detector which is its being
prone to false-alarm. We will utilize the conventional smoke detector along with MQ-7 gas
sensor and a DS18B20 temperature sensor to accurately determine a real fire with respective
thresholds as our basis to trigger a signal.

Percent Levels of CO and Heat + CSD Status

The prioritization of the sensor signals are distributed where 60% for temperature sensor and
40% for gas sensor. This prioritization is based on the nature of fire incident reports in the
country, wherein most of the fires are classified as fast-flaming fires where there is more
significant change in temperature than the gas concentration during the early stages of fire.

● If CSD = 1 ; Levels of CO and Heat >50%, then the System will trigger.
● If CSD = 1 ; Levels of CO and Heat <=50%, then the System will not trigger.
● If CSD = 0 ; Levels of CO and Heat >50%, then the System will not trigger.
● If CSD = 0 ; Levels of CO and Heat <=50%, then the System will not trigger.

The only way to trigger the system is if the Conventional Smoke Detector is alarmed and
if the Percent Levels of Carbon Monoxide and Heat reaches beyond 50%.
