QUESTION

1. Distinguish between Statically and Dynamically Induced EMF.

2. Show that for a sinusoidal voltage RMS value is 0.707 times its
maximum value.
3. An alternating voltage is V = 100 sin(100t). Find (i) amplitude
(ii)frequency (iii) angular velocity (iv) form factor.
4. Derive the expression for average value of a sinusoidal
waveform.
5. Define the following terms with example (i) phase (ii) phase
difference
6. Define RMS value and Average value of a time varying
waveform.
7. Define the terms relative permeability and flux density and give
the relation between two terms.
8. A sinusoidal voltage of V= 325 sin314t when applied across an
L-R series circuit causes a current of I=14.14sin(314t-60)
flowing through the circuit. Calculate the value of L and R of the
circuit. Also calculate the power consumed.
9. Prove that in a purely capacitive circuit the current leads the
applied voltage by 90 degrees and power consumed is zero.
10. Derive the relation between line and phase voltage in a 3
phase star connected system.
