This pretty Christmas Tree Wreath crochet ornament is easy and
super quick to make.

Basic stitches in simple variations, shaping and finishing.
You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet).

Materials
Hook – 3, 50 mm (E)
Stitch Marker
Scissors
Yarn needle
Optional – 1 inch / 2 cm Ribbon Bows.
Yarn:
Vinnis Colours – DK Nikkim 100% cotton (50 grams/119 meters)
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.
A – Bottle Green = 10-15 grams/26-30 yards/23-28 meters
B – Brick Red = 10-15 grams/26-30 yards/23-28 meters
C – Natural/or White = 2-4 grams/4-10 yards/4-10 meters.
Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is
recommended. The pattern suggests Cotton DK yarn, but you are
not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into
consideration your sizing for the project will differ.
Tension | Gauge
Gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.
However COUNTING your stitches will ensure a true success of this
project!
Size

Approx. 3, 5 x 3, 5 inches / 9 x 9 cm (length and width)
Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size
your owl will be a different size!

CH – chain
SL ST – slip stitch
SC – single crochet (UK – DC)
HDC – half double crochet (UK – HTR)
DC – double crochet (UK – TR)
TR – treble crochet (UK – DTR)
BLP – back loop
RS – Right side
WS – Wrong side
Instructions:
Note: You will need a Stitch Marker to mark your FIRST STITCH. As
you start each round move your marker into your first stitch for that
round.
With A / or B yarn CH 24; join with a SL ST into first CH to from a
:
ring.
RND 1: Work 2 SC into first CH; work 1 SC into each of next 3 CH.
*Work 2 SC into next CH; work 1 SC into each of next 3 CH. **
Repeat from * to ** until end. (30 SC)
RND 2: *Work 2 SC into next SC, work 1 SC into each of next 4 SC.
** Repeat from * to ** until end. (36 SC)
Rnd 3 – 4: Work 1 SC into each SC until end. (36 SC)
Note: For the next round work into the back-loops ONLY.
RND 5: Work 1 SC into each Sc until end. (36 SC)
Rnd 6: Work 1 SC into each ST until end. (36 SC)
Special Stitch:
SC2tog – work 2 single crochet stitches together (decrease)
Rnd 7: *SC2tog, work 1 SC into each of next 4 SC. ** Repeat from *
to ** until end (30 SC)
Rnd 8: *SC2tog, work 1 SC into each of next 3 SC. ** Repeat from *
to ** until end (24 SC)
Fasten off and leave a tail of approx. 12 inches / 30 cm.
(This is need to close-up the wreath and to crochet a hanging loop.)

Press wreath flat as shown in photo and sew inside closed –
should form a donut ring.
Thread tail through wreath and pull out at the top.
Insert hook into one of the exposed loops and CH 20, SL ST
into same loop.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With C yarn, insert hook into next exposed loop.
Work [1 SC, 1 DC, 1 SC] into loop; SL ST into next loop.
*Work [1 SC, 1 DC, 1 SC] into next loop; work 1 SL ST into next loop.

Repeat from * to **all around.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

With A / or B yarn and yarn needle – work French Knots randomly
over the front of the wreath.
Optional – attach a small bow just beneath the hanging loop.
