Sir,
The Results are as under:

3) MEAN STRENGTH CONCRETE:
Target average compressive strength at 28 days fck = fck + (t xs)
= fck + (1.65 x s) or f’ck = fck + X
Where;
t = tolerance factor = 1.65
S = standard deviation = 5.00 [from Table No 2 of IS 10262:2019]
X = 6.5 [from Table No 1 of IS 10262:2019]
Therefore, target mean strength = 30 + (1.65 x 5.00)
Therefore, target mean strength = 38.25 N/mm2
Therefore, target mean strength = 30 + 6.5
Therefore, target mean strength = 36.50 N/mm2
The higher value is to be adopted. Therefore, target strength will be 38.25 N/mm2 as 38.25
N/mm2>36.50 N/mm2.
4) SELECTION WATER CEMENTS RATIO: -
Free water cement ratio required for the target mean strength of 38.25 N/mm2
From I.S. 10262 - 2019 is 0.44. But as per IS 456:2000 requirement provide W/C = 0.45
W/C Cement Ratio = 0.45
Page 2 of 5
5) SELECTION OF WATER AND CEMENT CONTENT: -
From table:4 of IS 10262 - 2019 for 20mm nominal maximum size of aggregate water
content per cubic meter of concrete is = 186 Kg.
But for Non pumpable concrete slump required 75 mm = 186 + 3/100 x 186
= 191.58 kg.
As no superplasticizer to be used hence no reduction in water content is required,
Hence the Net water required = 191.58kg i.e. (0.1916 m3)
6) CALCULATION OF CEMENT:
Water cement ratio = 0.45
Cement required = 191.58 /0.45 = 425.73 Kg.
Say 426 Kg > 320 Kg/m3, as per IS 456:2000.
This cement content 426 kg/m3 is adequate. According to Table 5 of I.S. 456 - 2000,
minimum cement content required is 320 kg/m3.
As per MORT&H 5th revision for moderate exposure with reference to Table number 1700-2
maximum water cement ratio 0.45 & minimum cement 340 kg/m³ is specified but we had
taken 426 kg/m³, hence ok.
Volume of Cement = 426/3.10 x 1/1000 = 0.138 m3
7) CALCULATION OF COARSE AND FINE AGGREGATE CONTENT:
From Table 5, the proportionate volume of coarse aggregate corresponding to 20 mm size
aggregate and fine aggregate (Zone II) for water-cement ratio of 0.45 = 0.56 (a).
Therefore, volume of coarse aggregate is required to be increased to decrease the fine
aggregate content. As the water-cement ratio is lower by 0.05, the proportion of volume of
coarse aggregate is increased by 0.01 (at the rate of -/+ 0.01 for every ± 0.05 change in water-
cement ratio)
= (0.05/0.05) = 1 times of 0.01, i. e. 0.01 x 1 = 0.01 (b)
= a + b = 0.56 + 0.01 = 0.57
Page 3 of 5
Therefore, corrected proportion of volume of coarse aggregate for the water-cement ratio of
0.45 = 0.57
Proportion of Fine Aggregates (Sand) = 1 – 0.57 = 0.43%
Volume of Total Aggregates -
= 1 - (0.1916 + 0.138)
= 0.6704 m3
Quantity of Coarse Aggregates -
= 0.6704 x 0.57 x 2.96 x 1000
= 1131 Kg
Quantity of Fine Aggregates -
= 0.6704 x 0.43 x 2.80 x 1000
= 807 Kg. (Add + 15 kg)
= 807 Kg.
Quantity of Plasticizer = Nil
8) MIX PROPORTION IS - 426: 807: 1131 ...... w/c 0.45
1: 1.890: 2.650, W/C = 0.45
9) Material quantity for 1 m3 of concrete
Quantity of water = 191.58 lit/m3
Cement = 426 kg/m3
Quantity of fine aggregate =807 kg/m3
Quantity of coarse aggregate = 1131 kg/m3
Admixture- = Nil

Remarks:
Hence the accepted proportion is w/c = 0.45, F.A. = 1.890, C.A. = 2.650,
Actual cement consumption is 426 kg for 1m 3 concrete. The aggregates are assumed dry.
Necessary changes should be done on site depending on actual moisture present in
aggregates.
The test results are based on samples received in the laboratory.
