6. Installation

1. Take out the main unit of the instrument and confirm that there is no debris in the
aluminum cylinder of the sensor. Otherwise, the instrument cannot be started.
2. Turn on the power supply: (choose one of the two methods, do not use them at the same
time), open the battery compartment cover at the bottom of the instrument, and load four
AA (1.5V) batteries according to the positive and negative poles, or use the supplied AC
power adapter Insert the lead wire into the external power socket of the instrument, and
connect the other end to the 20V power supply.
3. Place the instrument on a windless and shock-absorbing horizontal Platform and put the
funnel on the blanking tube.
4. Prepare the sample to be tested and place the screened sample in the blanking cylinder.
5. Check the table to select the variety code, refer to the "variety code comparison table” in
the manual, select the corresponding variety code and then test.
6. If it is necessary to calibrate and correct the error of the instrument, the moisture value
of the sample measured by the 105°C standard oven method should be used as the
standard value, otherwise the measurement accuracy cannot be guaranteed.

7. Operations

Moisture Measurement

1. Press , The instrument starts self-inspection, and the variety code will
be displayed after passing.

2. Select the species: according to the species code in this

manual press select the variety code, such as corn(P5), display
screen show P5, press OK button to confirm.

3. Put the sample to be tested into the blanking cylinder to the lower edge of the
funnel, take down the upper funnel of the blanking cylinder, and scrape the upper
opening. (See A)

4. Press the blanking tube on the upper port of the instrument sensor, hold the
blanking tube with one hand, and lightly press the material door switch with the
other hand (see B), so that all the samples fall into the measuring sensor evenly,
without any operation, the instrument The measurement starts automatically,
and the moisture value is displayed after the decimal point flashes several times.

6
5. Close the material door of the blanking barrel, pour out the sample in the sensor,
and prepare for the next measurement.
6. In order to reduce the measurement error, please pay attention to maintaining
the consistency of the operation method. The same sample (especially Targe-
grained samples, such as corn, etc.) should be measured several times as much as
possible to obtain the average value. After repeating steps 4 and 5 for many times,
empty the items in the sensor, and press and hold the OK button to display the
average value of the previous measurements.
Bulk Measurement

1. Take the sample in the blanking cylinder (1); put the blanking cylinder on the
bulk destiny sampler to align, press the material door switch, so that the grain
falls into the sampler evenly (2); takedown the sampler funnel, and put the excess
The sample is removed so that the height of the sample is equal to that of the
sampler (3); finally, the sample in the sampler is poured into the drop barrel for
testing (4).
2. Measure the moisture of the sample according to the moisture measurement
steps 4-6, after the moisture is displayed, do not pour out the sample, press
DOWN button Measure the moisture of the sample according to the moisture
measurement steps 4-6, after the moisture is displayed, do not pour out the
sample, Display density value (g/L).

7
Weight Measurement
In any case, where a moisture measurement is displayed, press one
display sample weight, press the OK button again, back to measurement.
Temperature Measurement
In any case where the moisture measurement value is displayed, press the SPECIES
button once to display the sample temperature, and press the OK button again to
return to the measurement state.

Error Correction
Due to objective reasons such as regional and variety differences, the measurement
parameters pre-calibrated when the instrument leaves the factory have limitations,
and certain errors may occur during measurement. The moisture value can be
corrected according to the following methods to improve and ensure measurement
accuracy.
1. Determine the correction value
Generally, the moisture value measured by the standard oven method at 105°C is
the standard value, which is subtracted from the measured value, and the result
is the correction value (including positive and negative values). For example: the
measured moisture value is 13.6%, but the actual moisture content to be
displayed is 14.0%, the correction value is +0.4, which means that it should be
adjusted up by 0.4, and if the obtained correction value is negative, it means that
it needs to be adjusted down.
2. Correction
Pour out the sample in the instrument, press and hold the SPECIES key to hear
the beep and then release the word "correction” on the screen for 3 seconds, and
at the same time display the original error correction value (the correction value
of the factory setting is 0.0 ), press the UP or DOWN key to adjust the correction
value, press the OK key or 5 seconds to save it automatically, the instrument will
flash to confirm, and automatically exit the correction state and jump to the
measurement state.

8
Electronic Balance Correction
If the built-in electronics balance of the instrument is inaccurate, it can be calibrated
as follows
1. Place the instrument in the off state horizontally and take out everything in the
sensor.
2. Press and hold the SPICIES button, and then press the power button to turn it on,
the screen displays calibration 200g, then release the SPICIES button and the
instrument enters the calibration state.
3. Put the fixed weight (or 200g standard weight) attached to the instrument lightly on
the black tip in the middle of the measuring sensor and press the OK button again, the
number “200” displayed on the instrument screen will flash and then automatically
shut down, and the electronic balance calibration is completed.

Status indication
The instrument has a power-on self-test function, and the corresponding prompt symbols
will be displayed according to different conditions, as shown below

• : Indicates that the water measurement, temperature

measurement and weighing circuits are faulty.
• The battery symbol and : appear at the same time, indicating that the battery
is exhausted and needs to be replaced immediately.

• indicates that the number of samples measured is too small.

Note
1. The instrument is a precision electronic product, which must be handled with care,
shock-proof, and moisture-proof. It must be placed horizontally during use and
storage, and it should be cleaned and maintained frequently.
2. The dry battery should be removed when the instrument is not used for a long time
or transported.
3. Before the product "balance calibration” and "error correction”, the residue left in the
the instrument must be cleaned.
4. The instrument has an automatic calibration function when it is turned on.
However, after the instrument is violently shaken or placed for a long time, the
built-in electronic balance may be out of alignment. The instrument can be manually
calibrated according to the electronic balance calibration method.
5. When measuring the moisture value of large particle samples, please use the "average
moisture determination method" for determination.
6. When using the instrument, the non-rechargeable model can only be connected to
one kind of power supply, please do not use the battery and AC220V power supply at
the same time.
