Śrī Rādhā Kripa Kataksha is the hymns When, oh when will You shower upon me
or prayer written by Lord Shiva to Your side-long glance of overflowing
please Shri Rādhārāṇī. The prayer is grace?
spoken by Lord Shiva to Parvati Mata in
the Tantra named Urdhvamnaya-Tantra. Verse 3
anaṃgaraṃgamaṃgala
Verse 1 prasaṃgabhaṃgurabhruvāṃ, suvibhrama
munīndavṛndavandite trilokaśokahāriṇī, sasambhrama dṛgantabāṇapātanaiḥ
prasannavaktrapaṃkaje nikaṃjabhūvilāsinī nirantaraṃ vaśīkṛta pratītanandanandane,
vrajendabhānunandinī vrajenda kadā kariṣyasīha māṃ kṛpā-kaṭākṣa
sūnusaṃgate, kadā kariṣyasīha māṃ bhājanam
kṛpā-kaṭākṣa-bhājanam
Oh You who continuously subdues the Son
Oh You who are adored by all the best of Nanda into complete surrender unto
sages! Yourself by piercing Him with the arrows
Oh You who takes away all the miseries of loving glances shot from the very
of the three material worlds! corners of Your eyes—
Oh You whose face joyfully blooms just Glances laden with amorous delusions
like a lotus flower! which inspire Him with feelings of most
Oh You who delights in playing reverential submission, further
love-sports throughout the secret forest stimulated by Your crookedly-bending
bower-houses! eyebrows that dance with the most
Oh most charming daughter of auspicious sportive interest of the God
Vrishabhanu, the best of kings! of love!
Oh closest heart-felt companion of the When oh when will You make me the
son of the King of Vraja! object of Your side-long glance of

taḍitsuvaṇacampaka pradīptagauravigahe,
Verse 2 mukhaprabhāparāsta-koṭiśāradendumaṇṅa
aśokavṛkṣa vallarī vitānamaṇḍapasthite, le
pravālajvālapallava prabhārūṇāṅigh vicitracitra-saṃcaraccakoraśāvalocane,
komale kadā kariṣyasīha māṃ kṛpā-kaṭākṣa
varābhayasphuratkare bhājanam
prabhūtasampadālaye, kadā kariṣyasīha
māṃ kṛpā-kaṭākṣa-bhājanam Oh You whose form is fair-complexioned
with the brilliant hue of lightning, pure
Oh You who are situated in a pavilion gold, and champaka flowers!
beneath a canopy of creepers spread Oh You whose facial splendor eclipses
over the branches of the blooming the aura of millions of autumn moons!
ashoka trees! Oh You whose eyes restlessly move to
Oh You whose soft and delicate feet and fro like the young chakora birds and
radiate with the pinkish glow of freshly thus make astonishing expressions from
sprouted coral-like tree-buds! moment-to-moment!
Oh You whose upraised hand bestows When, oh when will You shower upon me
upon Your devotees the benediction of Your side-long glance of over-flowing
absolute fearlessness! grace?
mṛṇālabālavallarī taraṃgaraṃgadolate,
Verse 5 latāgalāsyalolanīla locanāvalokane
madonmadātiyauvane pramoda lalallulamilanmanojña mugdha
mānamaṇite, priyānurāgaraṃjite mohanāśraye, kadā kariṣyasīha māṃ
kalāvilāsapaṇiḍate kṛpā-kaṭākṣa bhājanam
ananyadhanyakuṃjarāja kāmakelikovide
kadā kariṣyasīha māṃ Oh You whose creeper-like arms
kṛpā-kaṭākṣa-bhājanam rhythmically wave and flow like fresh
young lotus stems in the ripples of a
Oh You who are madly intoxicated with river!
Your own eternal youth! Oh You whose restless, roving glance of
Oh You who are decorated by the great deep blue eyes dances seductively like
delight of Your mood of jealous pouting! vine-tips in the breeze!
Oh You who are dyed in pure loving Oh You whose playful frolics and alluring
affection for Your Beloved! movements induce lovely meetings and
Oh You who are most expert in all the fascinate Mohan [Krishna] Himself to
various arts of amorous loving take refuge in Your charm!
expressions! When, oh when will You make me the
Oh You who are most learned in designing object of Your side-long glance of
loving sports within the matchless opulent causeless mercy?
kingdom of glorious forest groves!
When, oh when will You make me the Verse 8
object of Your side-long glance of suvarṇmālikāṃcite
causeless mercy? trirekhakambukaṇṭhage,
trisutramaṃgalīguṇa triratnadīptidīdhiati
Verse 6 salolanīlakuntale prasūnagucchagumphite,
aśeṣahāvabhāva dhīrahīra hāra bhūṣite, kadā kariṣyasīha māṃ kṛpā-kaṭākṣa
prabhūtaśātakumbhakumbha bhājanam
kumibhakumbhasustanī
praśastamaṃdahāsyacūṇapūṇasaukhyasāg Oh You whose smooth conchshell-like
are, kadā kariṣyasīha māṃ kṛpā-kaṭākṣa neck, marked with three lines, is
bhājanam decorated with a pure golden necklace!
Oh You who shines in the splendorous
Oh You who are decorated by the auras of Your three-stranded necklace,
diamond necklace of limitless feminine woven with small jasmine garlands, and
charms like amorous gestures, ecstatic decorated with the three jewels
moods, and gentle mannerisms! diamond, emerald and pearl!
Oh You whose breasts are plump like the Oh You whose flowing deep blue-black
purest golden water jugs, or like the locks are interwoven with bunches of
cranial globes of a young elephant! colorful flower blossoms!
Oh You who are like the swelling ocean When, oh when will You shower upon me
of happiness full of (not water, but) the Your side-long glance of over-flowing
soft pollen of Your most praise-worthy grace?
mild sweet smile!
When, oh when will You shower upon me Verse 9
Your side-long glance of over-flowing nitambabimbalambamāna
grace? puṣpamekhalāguṇa, praśastaratnakiṃkaṇī
kalāpamadhyamaṃjule
Verse 7
karīndraśuṇḍadaṇḍikā to the daughter of Puloma (Indra’s wife
varohasobhagoruke, kadā kariṣyasīha Saci), and to Brahma’s wife (Sarasvati)!
māṃ kṛpā-kaṭākṣa bhājanam Oh You whose toenails glow with the
radiance of boundless mystic perfections
Oh You whose rounded hips are and opulent prosperities!
decorated by a belt of dangling flowers! When, oh when will You make me the
Oh You whose charmingly thin waist is object of Your side-long glance of
decorated by groups of superexcellent causeless mercy?
tiny tinkling jewel-bells!
Oh You whose most beautiful thighs Verse 12
taper gracefully like the trunk of the makheśvarī kriyeśvarī svadheśvarī
king of elephants! sureśvarī, trivedabhāratīyaśvarī
When, oh when will You make me the pramāṇaśāsaneśvarī
object of Your side-long glance of rameśvarī kṣameśvarī
causeless mercy? pramodakānaneśvarī, brajeśvarī
brajādhipe śrīrādhike namostute
Verse 10
anekamantranādamaṃju Oh Goddess of Vedic sacrifices!
nūpurāravaskhalat, Oh Goddess of all pious activities!
samājarājahaṃsavaṃśa nikvaṇātiga Oh Goddess of all that is natural and
vilolahemavallarī viḍamibacārūcaṃ kame, spontaneous!
kadā kariṣyasīha māṃ Oh Goddess of all the demigods and
kṛpā-kaṭākṣa-bhājanam goddesses!
Oh Goddess of all the knowledge of the
Oh You whose most captivating ankle three Vedas!
bells are resounding various Vedic Oh Goddess of the enforcement of
mantras as You walk, and which possess universal law!
additional superexcellence in resembling Oh Goddess of all the goddesses of
the warbling of a flock of most noble fortune!
swans! Oh Goddess of forgiveness!
Oh You whose pleasant bodily movements Oh Goddess of the most pleasurable
put to shame the swaying dance of forest of Vrindavana!
golden forest creepers! Oh Goddess of the entire realm of
When, oh when will You shower upon me Vraja!
Your side-long glance of over-flowing Oh one and only authority of Vraja!
grace? Oh Sri Radhika!

Verse 11 unto You!
anantakoṭiviṣṇuloka namapadamajācite,
himādijā pulomajā-viraṃcijāvaraprade Verse 13
apārasidivṛdidigdha -satpadāṃgulīnakhe, itīdamatabhutastavaṃ niśamya
kadā kariṣyasīha māṃ kṛpā -kaṭākṣa bhānunanidanī, karotu saṃtataṃ janaṃ
bhājanam kṛpākaṭākṣa bhājanam
bhavettādaiva
Oh You who is humbly bowed to by all saṃcita-trirūpakamanāśanaṃ,
the Lord Brahmas of countless millions of labhettādabrajendrasūnu
universes created by Lord Vishnu! maṇḍalapraveśanam
Oh You who is the bestower of boons to
the daughter of the Himalayas (Parvati), “May Sri Vrishabhanu-nandini, upon
hearing my most astonishing prayer being
recited by someone, make that person “That practicing devotee (sadhaka) who
the constant object of Her most merciful recites this stava 100 times while
side-long glance. Then, at that time, one situated in the waters of Sri
will feel that all the effects of three Radha-kunda up to the thighs, navel,
types of karma (whether entangling one chest or neck, attains complete
in the past, present or future) has been perfection in all the four purusarthas or
completely destroyed. And at such a goals of human existence—namely dharma
time, one will finally gain entrance into (religiosity), artha (economic success),
the assembly of Nanda-nandana’s kama (fulfillment of desires), and moksha
[Krishna’s] eternal loving associates.” (liberation from material existence). One
also attains the power by which
Verse 14 everything spoken will come true. One
Rakayam cha sitashtamyam becomes very opulent due to attaining
Dashamyan cha vishuddha-dhihi transcendental majesty, and gets to
Ekadashyam trayodashyam meet Sri Radhika face to face, seeing
Yah pathet sadhakah sudhihi Her even with one’s present eyes.”
Verse 15 Verse 18
Yam yam kamayate kamam Tena sa tat-kshanad eva
Tam tam prapnoti sadhakaha Tushta date maha-varam
Radha-kripa-katakshena Yena pashyati netrabhyam
Bhaktih syat prema-lakshana Tat-priyam shyama-sundaram
“That practicing devotee (sadhaka) of “Thereby Sri Radhika becomes so pleased
purified intelligence, who recites this that She instantly bestows a great
stava with a fixed mind on the lunar benediction. And that benediction is —
days—full moon, bright ashtami (waxing One also sees Her own beloved
eighth day), dashami (tenth day), Syamasundara with one’s very own eyes.”
ekadashi (eleventh day), or trayodashi
(thirteenth day)—finds that each and Verse 19
every desire that one had will be Nitya-lila-pravesham cha
fulfilled without fail. And by the most Dadati hi vrajadhipaha
merciful side-long glance of Sri Radha, Atah parataram prapyam
one will obtain devotional service which Vaishnavanam na vidyate
has a very special quality of pure,
ecstatic love (Prema).” “Then that very Lord of Vraja-dhama
grants one entrance into His own eternal
Verse 16 pastimes of ecstatic daily sports. And
Uru-dagne nabhi-dagne other than attaining this goal, there is
Hrid-dagne kantha-dagnake nothing but nothing else which is really
Radha-kunda-jale sthitva hankered for by the true Vaishnavas.”

Verse 17
Tasya sarvartha-siddhah syad
Vak-samarthya tato labhet
Aishvaryam cha labhet sakshad
Drisha pashyati radhikam
