1. Starting Tux Paint
1. What is Tux Paint?
 Tux Paint is software used for drawing and painting. It has many tools and
interesting sound effects.

2. How can you download Tux Paint for Windows 10?


 To download Tux Paint for Windows 10, type
"www.tuxpaint.org/download/windows/" in the address bar. Then, double-
click the "Tux Paint 9.22 installer.exe" file, and install it by double-clicking the
downloaded file.

3. How can you start Tux Paint?


 Clicking "Start" → "Tux Paint" → "Tux Paint (Windowed)"
OR
 Double-clicking the Tux Paint icon on the desktop.

2. Main Screen
1. What are the 5 parts of the main screen in Tux Paint?
The 5 parts of the main screen are:
 Toolbar
 Drawing Canvas
 Selector
 Colors
 Help area
2. Where is the Toolbar located, and what does it contain?
 The Toolbar is located on the left side of the main screen, and it contains
drawing and editing tools.
3. What is the Drawing Canvas?
 The Drawing Canvas is the area in the center of the main screen where you
can draw figures.

4. What does the Selector show?


 The Selector, located on the right side of the main screen, shows different
options based on the tool selected.

5. How many colors are in the palette, and which one can be changed?
 There are 18 colors in the palette. The first 17 are fixed, and the 18th one (on
the right) can be changed by selecting a new color.

6. What is the Help area used for?


 The Help area provides tips and information about the selected tools while
drawing on the Canvas.

7. Drawing Tools
1. Name the drawing tools available in Tux Paint.

 Paint tool

2. What is the Paint tool used for, and how do you use it?
 The Paint tool is used to draw stars, arrows, and freehand drawings.
o Steps to use it:

 Select the Paint tool.


 Choose a colour from the palette.
 Select a brush size from the selector.
 Hold the left mouse button and draw on the Canvas.
 Release the mouse button when finished.

3. How do you draw a straight line using the Lines tool?


 Select the Lines tool.
 Choose a colour from the palette.
 Select the thickness of the line from the selector.
 Click and hold the left mouse button while drawing the line on the Canvas.
 Release the mouse button when the line is finished.

4. What can you draw using the Shapes tool, and what are the steps?
You can draw filled and unfilled shapes using the Shapes tool.
Steps:
 Click the Shapes tool.
 Choose a colour from the palette.
 Select a shape from the selector.
 Click and hold the mouse button to draw the shape.
 Release the mouse button when done, and rotate the shape if needed.
 Click to fix the shape in place.
5. What is the Text tool used for, and how do you add text to the Canvas?
 The Text tool is used to add text or numbers to the Canvas.
Steps:
 Select the Text tool.
 Choose a colour from the palette.
 Select a text style from the selector.
 Type the text on the Canvas.
 Press "Enter" to move to the next line or "Tab" to move right.

6. What does the Magic tool do?


 The Magic tool adds special effects to your drawings.
 You can either apply effects to parts of the picture by clicking and dragging,
or apply the effect to the entire picture by clicking once.

7. What is the Eraser tool, and how is it used?


 The Eraser tool is used to erase parts of your drawing.
Steps:
 Select the Eraser tool.
 Choose an eraser size from the selector.
 Click and drag the mouse on the Canvas to erase.

4. Other Controls

1. What do the Undo and Redo tools do?


 The Undo tool cancels the last action you made in your drawing.
 The Redo tool restores the last action that was undone.
2. What does the new tool do?
 The New tool allows you to start a new drawing. You can choose a
background or a starter image.

3. How do you save a drawing in Tux Paint?


 Click the Save tool to save your drawing.
 If it is saved for the first time, it creates a new file.
 If it is already saved, a dialogue box appears asking if you want to replace the
old file.
4. What is the Open tool used for?
 The Open tool is used to load a previously saved drawing. You can double-
click on a saved picture to open it.

5. How do you print a picture in Tux Paint?


 To print a picture, click the Print tool, and a dialogue box will appear. Click
"Yes" to print the picture using a printer.
