I.OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of:
1. The development of atomic models that led to description of the
behavior of electrons within atoms.
B. Performance Standard
C. Most essential Learning Write the electronic configuration, orbital and core notation of atoms and
Competency/Objectives elements;
Write the LC code for Use the periodic table to determine the distribution of electrons

IV.PROCEDURES
A. Elicit Preliminaries
 The session will start with an opening prayer to be led of an assign
learner, follow the Lupang Hinirang and Panunumpa sa Watawat to
be conducted by the learner. After that the teacher will tell everyone
to take the pieces of paper around them and take their seat
comfortably.
 Checking of attendance.
 Reminding the students by the rules set by the teacher.

Eliciting the knowledge of the learners.

The prior knowledge of the learners aside from the last topic that a teacher
has been discussed. She will ask at least 3 questions to the learners to recall
the lesson.
1. What arrangement in the periodic table does the atomic size where
in arranged it in horizontal row?
2. What arrangement in the periodic table does the pattern of valence
electron wherein in arranged it in vertical column?
3. What period does the Oxygen have and its valence electron?

The teacher will start to recall all the topic in the arrangement of the
periodic table that will use in the next topic.

B. Engage The teacher will start giving an example in the actual context where in the
learners can be related about the Electronic Configuration.

Teacher: Remember class when there’s a certain event in the school

probably in your Elementary days, what kind of sitting arrangement does
the teachers to do so when all the grade levels are the audience?
- Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
In this matter, if you could notice the lower year always placed at the first
row until the higher year. Where the lower year can be watch or pay
attention eagerly because they are near at the front stage.

C. Explore Individual Activity

The teacher will give 5 elements in the periodic table for the learners will
apply how to create an atomic size and where to place the electrons.

Instruction: Give the atomic number, energy level and number of electrons
in each element. To do it so, create an atomic orbit and place the electrons
in the corresponds orbit.
1. Magnesium
2. Neon
3. Tellurium
4. Gold
5. Arsenic
D. Explain The teacher will process the answers of the learners and introduce the new
topic related to the activity that the learners do.
E. Elaborate
What is Electronic Configuration?
- The way the electrons of an atom are distributed in the various
energy levels or electron shells.
- The highest energy level that an electron occupies is referred to as
the outermost shell/valence shell. (Valence electron)

What is the importance of the Electronic Configuration?

1. Determining the valency of an element.
2. Predicting the properties of a group of elements.
3. Interpreting atomic spectra

Key Points in the Discussion

1. Aufbau Principle
2. Pauli Exclusion Principle
3. Hund’s Rule
F. Evaluate Write the Electronic Configuration
1. Silver
2. Iodine
3. Chlorine
4. Sulfur
5. Barium
G. Extend

work? No. of Learners who:
 Have caught up with the
lesson
 Continue to require
remediation
