Soulcare Counselling is founded by a group of Malaysian
mental health practitioners. Our vision is to create accessible
and caring spaces for people to rest, heal, grow, flourish, and
thrive.

M I S S I O N
At Soulcare Counseling, we are committed to creating
culturally informed, inclusive environments where individuals
from all walks of life can find solace, support, compassion, and
the tools needed to overcome challenges and thrive in both
their personal and community lives.

We also aim to empower mental health practitioners,

educators, supervisors, advocates, and community leaders
through training, collaboration, and lifelong learning,
equipping them with the knowledge and skills to foster
meaningful change and better serve diverse communities.

SOULCARE FOUNDERS
Dr. Ng Kok Mun, Ph.D., M.Ed, LPC, LCMHC, NCC, ACS
Licensed counselling practitioner in the U.S.
Professor of Counselor Education at Oregon State University,
specializing in couples, marriage, and family counseling. Has
extensive experience in designing and teaching counseling courses,
with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Ann Gunapalan
Licensed and registered counsellor in Malaysia
Practices at KIN & KiDs Marriage, Family and Child Therapy Center in
Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur, specializes in existential-humanistic
approach and trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Sin Yoke Choo (Joey)

Licensed and registered counsellor in Malaysia
Founder of Joey Sin Counselling and associate at Raintree Specialist
Clinic, Petaling Jaya, specializes in trauma therapy for adults using
EMDR, Brainspotting, and emotional parts work.

Nat Siow
Licensed and registered counsellor in Malaysia
Holds a Master's in Marriage, Couple & Family Counseling. Employs a
relational-cultural approach, dedicated to uplifting voices of oppressed
and marginalized communities. He is a LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist.

ADVISORY BOARD
Dr. Alvin Ng Lai Oon, Ph.D.
Clinical Psychologist in Malaysia
Full-time academic at Sunway University, serving as Deputy Dean
(International) and Professor of Psychology. He is the Founding President
of the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology and has served as
Secretary of the Asian Cognitive Behavioral Therapies Association.

Chandra Kumar A/L Vellasamy

Licensed and registered counsellor in Malaysia
A Psychology and Counselling Officer with the Ministry of Education,
Malaysia. Registered and licensed in Substance Abuse Counselling under
The Colombo Plan and active in building drug-free communities.

Dr. Lee Chee Siang, Ph.D.

Licensed and registered counsellor in Malaysia
Holds a PhD in Holistic Wellness Counseling from UKM and two master’s
degrees in Guidance & Counseling and Human Resource Development.
He has taught counseling courses at the university level and published
four books and numerous papers and articles related to counseling and
wellness.

Michelle Yip
Stage Manager and Educator
A multi-hyphenate in the performing arts as a stage manager and
educator, with experience in corporate training on empathic leadership
and communication. The co-founder of Conscious, a start-up fostering a
community of impact-driven changemakers in Malaysia's socio-economic
landscape.

ADVISORY BOARD
Lim Wai Yee
Trained NLP (neuro linguistics programming), certified
psychotherapist, life coach
Spent 30 years building brands and mentoring young professionals in
branding and marketing. Now a professionally trained psychotherapist
and life coach certified in NLP, she focuses on helping individuals
connect with their potential for excellence.

Dr. Muhammad Asyraf Che Amat, Ph.D.

Licensed and registered counsellor in Malaysia
Currently heads the Department of Counselor Education and Counseling
Psychology at UPM, coordinating graduate counseling training programs.
He is a life member of PERKAMA International and received the Excellent
Service Award in 2023 for his leadership at UPM.

Dr. Zaidy MohdZain, Ph.D.

Clinical Counsellor
He began his academic career in counselor education in 1993, holding
various leadership roles at the U.S. higher education institutions, including
Academic Dean and Department Chair. He is currently a faculty member
at Texas A&M University – Commerce.

Dr. Edward Ewe, Ph.D.

Licensed counselor and an Approved Clinical Supervisor
Offers EFT-based individual and couples counseling in Oregon and
Washington. He focuses on grief and loss, couples counseling, and
individual therapy. He has presented at various international, national,
and regional counseling conferences, and he received the WACES
Outstanding Mentor Award in 2021.

Dr. Gideon Litherland, Ph.D.

Licensed clinical counsellor in the U.S.
A core faculty member in the Counselling Department at the Family Institute
at Northwestern University, advocating for excellence in counselling,
supervision, teaching, and research. He holds a PhD in Counselling from
Oregon State University, and is a board-certified telemental health provider.

Prof. Dr. Ida Hartina Ahmed Tharbe, Ph.D.

Licensed and registered counsellor in Malaysia
Currently serving as Treasurer and Exco Member of PERKAMA
International, she is also an HRDF Corp Accredited Trainer. Awarded
Professorship from Oxbridge Institute of Professional Development in
2023. She’s currently a Life Research Fellow with OIPD.

Dr. Nicole Chen Lee Ping, Ph.D.

Licensed and registered counsellor in Malaysia
The founder and Clinical Director of Heal Systemic Therapy Centre. She was the
President of the Malaysian Marriage and Family Therapy Association (MyMFT)
from 2021 to 2023 and was reappointed for 2023-2025, and she holds Fellow
membership in the Asian Academy of Family Therapy (AAFT).

Raymond Lee Kok Han

Licensed and registered counsellor in Malaysia
Has more than 10 years of experience providing individual and group
counseling services to youth, adults, and the elderly, covering a wide
range of issues. He is also a Certified QPR Suicide Prevention
Gatekeeper Instructor and a HRDCorp Accredited Trainer.

Dr. S. Anandavalli, Ph.D.

National Certified Counselor &
Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon
An award-winning trauma-informed mental health counsellor and educator
in the U.S. She is the founder of Soulfulness Counseling, LLC, focusing on
women with early childhood trauma. She is also the Associate Editor for The
Professional Counselor.

Vincent Pee
Board Member of the Board of Visitors at the University
Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC)
Has over 30 years of experience in social work, serving as Vice
Chairman of the Children Protection Team and Chairman of a prominent
NGO. He advises the Children's Court, assisting abused children,
troubled families, and rape victims as an independent social worker. He
participated in relief efforts in Nepal after the 2015 earthquake.

Voon Yimfong
Registered counsellor in Australia
Has over 18 years of clinical experience supporting a diverse range of
individuals and families through challenging life and work transitions,
including grief and loss from losing loved ones to cancer.

Soh Yoke Wah (Yoki)

Licensed and registered counsellor in Malaysia
A licensed counsellor with a Master's in Counselling from HELP
University, specializing in emotional, relational, family, and career
challenges. She practices at KIN and KiDs Marriage, Family, and
Child Therapy Center.

Dr. Brigid Noonan, Ph.D.

Licensed clinician in Maryland, DC, New York & Florida
Serves as a nationally certified counselor (NCC), approved clinical supervisor
(ACS), certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP), and certified clinical
telemental health provider (CTMH). Currently, she serves as the dean for the
School of Nursing and Health Professions at Trinity Washington University.

Ting Pei Lim

Licensed and registered counsellor in Malaysia
Provides therapeutic support to individuals and young adults, focusing
on self, relationships, and emotions. Her extensive experience in the
non-profit sector, social enterprises, and healthcare has equipped her
to support individuals facing adverse childhood experiences and
cancer.

Dr. Hartini Abdul Rahman, Ph.D.

Counselling Psychologist &
Licensed and registered counsellor in Malaysia
Specializes in anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and neurodiversity, offering
accessible, multicultural therapy while passionately advocating for
mental wellness and empowering diverse communities.
