1.0 Introduction

Dassault Systèmes GEOVIA is a set of geologic modelling and mining engineering

software applications developed by the French engineering software company
Dassault Systèmes. Formerly known as Gemcom, the company was founded in 1985.

GEOVIA Surpac™ is the most popular geology and mine planning software,
supporting open pit and underground operations and exploration projects in more
than 120 countries. The software delivers efficiency and accuracy through ease-of-
use, powerful 3D graphics and workflow automation that can be aligned to
company-specific processes and data flows.

Surpac addresses all the requirements of geologists, surveyors, and mining engineers
in the resource sector and is flexible enough to be suitable for every commodity,
orebody and mining method. Its multilingual capabilities allow global companies to
support a common solution across their operations.

Wonder Cement Ltd procure the GEOVIA Surpac and MineSched software for mine
planning, scheduling, and process improvements, it will reap direct and indirect cost
savings, and become more productive, predictable, and profitable. By combining
geospatial and digital terrain data, we can accelerate the development of
economically optimal mine plans using mine plan optioneering to maximize mining
operations.

We have a network licence and single sentinel no. 33802 is installed at our IT server (it-
camserver.rkgroup.local:1234) for the both software. Training of the software to the
WCL users done in two phases as per work order condition. After training the WCL
team work on the actual data of Bhatkotri Limestone Mine and prepare a technical
report on the same as per below workflow.

This report has been generated on completion of the work of Resource Modelling and
Reserve Estimations including data compilation, geological modelling, drillhole
verifications and reserves estimation.

The extent of limestone deposit has been considered up to the lease boundary and
up to the depth of core drilling. The limestone body has been delineated considering
a cut-off-grade of CaO>34%. Although thorough validation has been carried out on
the all samples to remove any abnormal values and duplicates.

The raw data is in the form of spread sheets, surface contours and other information
regarding lease area and mineralized zone in the form of CAD file. The raw data were
validated and converted into the SURPAC database.

Statistical and geostatistical analysis was carried out on the data. Variograms were
drawn at every 15 degrees to find out the continuity in various directions. Down the
hole variograms were also drawn for all four radicals to know the grade continuity in
depth. Variogram model fitting was carried out to work out the vario-graphic
parameters. Cross validation has been undertaken to verify the robustness of the
4

modelled variograms.

The grade estimation was carried out using Inverse Distance method. Samples were
selected within interpreted orebody wireframe for block grade estimation. The
resultant block models were validated through visual checks and sectional validation
slices of the model and the drillhole statistics. Model has been validated to a
reasonable level of confidence.

1.1 Particulars of Mining Lease & Exploration

Bhatkotri limestone mine have an area of 740.93 ha. near villages Bhatkotari, Phalwa,
Lasravan and Rasulpur in Tehsil Nimbahera, District Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, to feed its
cement plant. The mine is fully mechanised opencast mine operated with Heavy Earth
Moving Machinery (HEMM).

There is no National park/ Sanctuary within 10 KM of lease area. The lessee is having
consent from state pollution control board.

DMG carried out field investigation/exploration during 2004-07, by way of Regional

Geological mapping of 5 sq. km, detailed geological mapping of 3.27 sq. km,
Exploration drilling 875m spread over 17 bore holes (BKH 1 to 17) and Identified 3.00
sq. km area of cement grade limestone. All holes were vertical and drilled upto 50 m
depth except BKH - 4 drilled upto 75 m. DMG estimated 276 mt. Cement grade
limestone with CaO 44.44% & SiO2 14.48%.

Based on the exploration carried out by DMG the Mining Plan was prepared for
3.75million tonnes per annum limestone production which was approved vide IBM
letter dated 25.10.2007. In compliance to the grant letter (23.08.2008) company has
installed a cement plant of 2.5 million tonnes per annum capacity (March ’12) and
obtained the requisite statutory clearances.

Later on WCL drilled 17 drill holes (WCH series) during 2010 in the form of infill drilling to
confirm the DMG data base & evaluation. On completion, 34 Bore holes (BKH and
WCH series are 17 and 17 respectively) out of these holes two holes (2 BKH) located
outside near lease boundary and these holes were drilled by DMG before grant of
mining lease, influence of these holes were consider for reserve estimation. CAE
Mining (DATAMINE) (who has earlier done the modelling using DMG drill hole data)
was asked to do the re-modelling using 34 bore hole data. The mineable reserves
estimated were 318 million tonnes. at CaO 43.47% and SiO2 16.20%.

Cement being a low value commodity is economically viable only when it is

5

produced in bulk. To sustain the market pressure as well as to bridge the gap between
Page

demand and supply it becomes necessary for the cement companies to expand from

| BHATKOTARI LIMESTONE MINE
time to time based on the availability of raw material resources mainly cement grade
limestone. WCL has plans to expand the existing cement plant in Phases. This required
exploration of the entire lease hold area to know the resources available to take
decisions for the future expansion in a phased manner.

WCL Explored entire area by drilling 92 bore holes with 6767.96 mtrs. drilling during
2011-12 to establish the lateral extension and depth continuity of limestone (as the
DMG drilling was confined to 50m depth). 8 nos bore holes with 400 mtrs. Drilling was
drilled in year 2015-16; all holes were barren in Shale. It was found out that out of 740.93
Ha ML area the cement grade limestone bearing area is 365 Ha. and out of this 337.03
Ha. is under G1 and 27.93 Ha. is under G2 level exploration rest is covered by Shale or
waste rock. 92 drill holes were drilled by WCL to explore entire lease area and evaluate
the resources to take financial decisions for the expansion in the phased manner. 8
holes (400 Mtr) were drilled in barren area in year 2015-16 to explore the possibility of
limestone but result shows the area covered by shale.

The whole area is explored by core drilling in which some holes drilled up to 330 mRL
and some are above it, therefore for the confirmation of the depth of limestone,
further exploration was carried out in the FY 2020-21 & 2021-22.

The summary of exploration drilling is:

2.0 Location and Geology
2.1 Regional Geology
The District comprises of rocks of Bhilwara Supergroup Vindyan Supergroup and
Deccan Traps The rock formations of Eastern Rajasthan and also Mandasaur district
of Madhya Pradesh were studied by Dr. A. M. Heron in (1917-36). He classified the
limestone formations of this area under Nimbahera Limestone belt which is equivalent
to the Semri series (which is now called as Khorip group) of Lower Vindhyan of
Vindhyan Supergroup.

The name Vindhyan has been derived from the Vindhyan Mountains in Central India.
The Calc–Argillaceous member of Khorip group which were deposited in the unstable
shelf are further divided into Khori Malan Conglomerate at the base, grading in
upward succession into Jiran Sandstone, Bari Shale, Nimbahera Limestone and Suket
Shale with Limestone. Later, it was revised by Balmiki Prasad (1984). Based on this the
generalised stratigraphy succession of the Lower Vindhyan in the Chittorgarh –
Jhalawar area are given in table below:

Description of the rock’s units: Nimbahera Limestone

Nimbahera limestone deposit is falls in the category of Bedded Stratiform and Tabular
deposit of Regular habit.

It is named from the town of Nimbahera in Chittorgarh district. It conformably overlies

the Bari shale and has gradational contact at places. It is repeated with the Bari shale
due to folding. This is exposed intermittently for about 3.5 km length in N-S direction
with 50 to 200 easterly dips.

It is fined grained, massive, hard compact, regularly jointed, slabby and occurs as thin
to thick beds varying in thickness from 10 cm to over a meter. The limestone is pale,
light to dark grey, greenish grey, pinkish and reddish brown in colour with grey green
and red shale partings. It breaks with smooth surface. The lower brownish limestone
generally grades into Bari shale through calcareous shale. The limestone is suitable for
cement manufacturing purpose.

Bhatkotari Limestone deposit forms a part of the Nimbahera Limestone Belt and
belongs to Semri Series of Lower Vindhyan age. The sequence of formation exposed
in the Bhatkotari area is as follows:

Grey Limestone

Dark Grey Limestone

Greenish Grey Limestone

Pink Limestone

Reddish Brownish Limestone

Grey Shale

Red Shale

Black Shale

Greenish Grey Shale

In the area, the formations are gently folded to form a Syncline and Anticline. An
Anticline is observed in the western part of the lease area along lease boundary.

The general strike of the limestone bands in this area is N 8˚ E – S 8˚ W and sharp
changes in the strike direction are observed in places. The dips of the bands generally
vary from 5 to 10 degree, sometimes exceedingly more than 15 degrees. However, at
places the beds are horizontal. The outcrops of the different limestone are seen mainly
in the Govt. wastelands, while the private lands are devoid of outcrops due to
capping of overburden soil or standing crops at the time of this investigation.

The thickness of soil cover varies from less than a meter to as much as 2 m. However,
the data from the examination of the open wells in the area under investigation the
deposit have aided in the study of the different limestone bands. The delineation of
10

the different limestone bands is based predominantly on their colour. The quality of
Page

the different limestone bands has also to some extent aided in the recognition and
demarcation of the different limestone bands.

3.0 Resource Modelling

3.1 Geological Database

Surpac uses a relational database model and supports several different types
including oracle, paradox, and Microsoft access. A database can contain up to 50
tables and each table can have a max of 60 fields. A table is created to group like
data to store info taken over an interval down the hole or at a particular point down
the hole.

Three tables are mandatory to the database structure and maintain the data integrity

• Collar table
• Survey table
• Translation table

COLLAR TABLE

This describes the location of the drill hole collar, the maximum depth of the hole and
whether a linear or curved hole trace is to be calculated when retrieving the hole.
The field hole_path relates to the algorithm that is used when drill holes are extracted.

SURVEY TABLE

Drill hole survey information used to calculate the drill hole coordinates. Mandatory
fields include downhole depth at which the survey was taken, the dip and the azimuth
of the hole. y, x and z fields are used to store the calculated coordinates of each
survey.

TRANSLATION TABLE

This table is used for storing character codes. These codes may have a numerical
equivalent value if they are to be applied to a numeric field or may be used to
validate input into a character field. The translation table is used to assist in the
translation from some real type of representation for data to some user defined
character equivalent.

OPTIONAL TABLES

Geology and Sample tables are defined within the optional tables as an interval table
11

type. The information is taken over a specified interval down the hole or at a precise
Page

DEPOSIT MODELING AND RESERVE ESTIMATION BY SURPAC

| BHATKOTARI LIMESTONE MINE
point. The interval tables require the depth at the start of the interval and the depth
at the end of the interval, called the depth_from and depth_to fields respectively.

The samp_id field is a special mandatory field in an interval type table as it may or
may not be a key field. If it is not a key field then you do not have to store sample
numbers. You may choose, however, when you create a database to make this field
a key field. It can be used later for loading data that is identified only by the sample_id
field and the sample value(s) to be loaded.

For our project we have collar & survey data as mandatory, for optional table we
have Assay & Litho file. The spreadsheets have been validated via a secondary
manual check that identified and rectified any initial mistakes. Absent data has been
left as blank cells in the input database. During this process of verification of the input
data, a second check for errors such as overlaps, gaps, missing records and abnormal
values is undertaken. All the errors were removed from the final holes file. Database
summary is as below:

Table Name Data Type Table Type Records

assay interval time-independent 12353
collar 190
geology interval time-independent 1034
styles 30
survey 190
translation 0
Table 4 Summery of Database

Drill hole collar coordinates were plotted in SURPAC and validated by plotting in plan
and section to ensure coordinates have been accurately entered.

| BHATKOTARI LIMESTONE MINE
The assay values have also been examined for any erroneous high or low values that
may require verification. Any unusual outliers are identified and the same were cross
checked with project personnel and corrected wherever necessary. A report on
Database extents produces a summary of the minimum and maximum north, east,
elevation and depth for all the holes in the collar table of your database plus the
number of holes and total length drilled are as below:

3.2 Statistics
Normal Statistics can calculate basic statistics of the data which are stored in numeric
fields in tables in the database. Statistics can be calculated for both untransformed
data and for log transformed data (logarithms taken to base e). The statistics are:

Table 6 Database Normal Statistics

The logarithmic statistics which are displayed are the same as those for the normal
statistics with the exception that the data are first transformed by taking logarithms to
base e (natural logarithms). Note that samples whose value is less than or equal to
zero are disregarded from the logarithmic calculations and so it is possible to get
different populations for the normal and lognormal statistics.

3.3 Histogram

Histograms have been constructed for all the radicals to know their distribution pattern
which helps in identifying presence of outliers and removing them for better
estimations. It can be inferred from the distribution of CaO, SiO2, Fe2O3, Al2O3 and
MgO that these show near normal distributions with CaO showing a negative
skewness whereas other three show a positive skewness.

3.4 Correlation Study
To see the interdependence of one radical over another, correlation study has been
carried out. The correlation study shows that CaO values has negative correlations
with all radicals which means a tendency for large values of CaO to be associated
with small values of other radicals and vice versa.

From the correlation matrix, it can be inferred that although SiO2 has positive
correlation with Fe2O3 and Al2O3. Scatter plots have also been created to see the
interdependence of these radicals on one another.

3.4 Mineralisation
The deposit is almost horizontally dipping except having local dips ranging between
5 to 12 degrees. The drill holes are spaced 150 to 200m apart. Therefore, transverse
sections are created within SURPAC using a series of sectional strings at regular
interval. The sections are oriented across the strike direction. The sectional
interpretation is confined to the mineralized.

The ore body has been delineated using a cut-off-grade of 34% CaO. The shale
partings, sludge and soil at the top have been separately delineated to exclude from
the main mineralisation of limestone. Figure shows the section created within the
geological contact of the limestone and topsoil.

3.5 Wireframe Models
The orebody sectional interpretation strings have been linked to create a wireframe
of the orebody. For optimal linking between strings different stitch algorithm have
been used to achieve the required shape and avoid crossovers. The wireframes have
been closed and the orebody wireframe has been verified within SURPAC to check
overlapping, duplicate, or open edges. Figure shows the orebody within the
geological contact.

3.6 Method of Resource Estimation

There are various methods of resource estimation and selection of appropriate
method depends on the geometry of the deposit, the variability of the grade
distribution, complexity of the deposit and intensity of the exploration carried out over
the area. The resources and reserves of limestone of ML area(s) have been estimated
22

as per Minerals (Evidence of Mineral Contents) Rules 2015 utilizing Computer Aided
Page

Deposit Evaluation technique by construction of geological cross sections, geological

model and block model using well tested and universally accepted SURPAC Geology

| BHATKOTARI LIMESTONE MINE
and Mining software. In view of category of exploration and availability of data for
the ML area(s), resource and reserve were estimated by Inverse Square Distance (ISD)
method.

3.7 Inverse Square Distance

The Inverse Distance Square (IDS) method of estimation has been employed for
estimation of block cells. In this method of estimation, the weight assigned to the
neighbouring sample based on the square of the distance of known sample. The
estimation is based on the inverse of the square of the distance from known
surrounding sample. ID estimate the weight of individual sample is proportional to an
inverse power of distance from the location of the estimate to the sample. The
expression for Inverse Square Distance is given by:

Where 'G* is the estimated value of the block, 'di is the distance of each sample from
the centre of the block, 'k' is the additive constant which is ≥ 0 and 'gi' are the sample
values at locations 'di'.

Based on the geometrical parameters as outlined so far, estimation for radicals viz.,
SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, CaO, and MgO. corresponding to each litho unit was done using
above ISD technique.

A value interpolated for any spatial point is determined by applying a weighting

factor based on distance between the spatial point and surrounding sample data.
Selection of sample points to include in the calculation may be determined by
minimum and or maximum distance.

3.6 Block Modelling

For estimation of quality and quantity, Deposit block model has been created for
composite ML area. For computation of the block model, the ML area is subdivided
into large number of small blocks. The block size selection depends on the spacing of
drilling grid and as per established norm; it is one-third to one-fourth of it. Considering
the workable mining area and variable mining benches, which shall follow individual
litho-unit, block size of 25 m x 25 m x 10 m is selected. Keeping in view of variable
thickness of various zones and to precisely estimate the quantity and quality for each
zone, sub-blocking has also been performed with minimum sub-block size of 6.25 m x
6.25 m x 1.25 m. The blocks are orthogonal and have not been rotated.

Table 8 Block Model Summary

Records in the Block Model are related to blocks. These are cuboid partitions of the
24

modelled space and are created dynamically according to the operations

performed on the Block Model. Each block contains attributes for each of the
Page

properties to be modelled. The properties or attributes may contain numeric or

| BHATKOTARI LIMESTONE MINE
character string values. Every block is defined by its geometric centroid and its
dimensions in each axis.

All Block Model functions performed with constraints. A constraint is a logical

combination of one or more spatial objects on selected blocks. Objects that may be
used in constraints are plane surfaces, DTM’s, Solids, closed strings and block attribute
values.

Prior to estimation of block quantity, each block has been estimated based on the
DTM of topography of the composite ML. The DTM of topography has been overlain
on the block model and any block falling above the topography has been excluded
from the estimation. Zone wise DTM (Digital Terrain Model) has been prepared from
geological cross sections to screen out any intermixing of various litho-unit zones
during estimation. The volume of each litho-unit zone within the block matrix as
mentioned above has been calculated by the number and size of the block/sub-
block in three dimensions within each individual litho-unit zone.

3.7 Block Model Verifications

A careful section by section comparison has been undertaken comparing the
estimated blocks to the original drillhole assay grades. This has been used to identify
potential discrepancies between grades of the estimated blocks and the original drill
hole sample data.

3.8 Block Estimation

Since statistical analysis deals with random sample distribution, it is difficult to estimate
quality and quantity of the deposit with statistical approach unless and until the
deposit conforms to fully normal distribution pattern with little variation in quality. As
mentioned in preceding para, in view of the stratified, horizontally disposed,
homogenous deposit, universally accepted method of estimation i.e., Inverse Square
Distance (ISD) method, has been applied to estimate the quality and quantity of the
deposit.

The assays radicals have been estimated into the geological block model inverse
power of distance. The Minimum number of samples 3 and maximum number of
samples 15 has been used for primary search volume and second expansion factor
has been used for estimation.

The Inverse Distance method of filling a model, allows to interpolate block values
based on the values of the sample points closest to the block centroid. The weighting
of the surrounding samples is calculated based on the inverse of their distance to the
block centroid raised to a specified power.

DEPOSIT MODELING AND RESERVE ESTIMATION BY SURPAC

| BHATKOTARI LIMESTONE MINE
5.0 Mineable Reserve
For estimation of Mineral reserves, the mineral resources were further evaluated for
their mineability considering various modifying factors viz. end use, cut-off grade,
threshold value, infrastructure, economics, marketing, legal, environmental, social,
and statutory factors. Since the exploration carried out in the area has established the
complete local geological set-up of the ML area and out of the total area is under
G1 category of exploration, part area is non-mineralized and part area is blocked due
to constraints.

5.1 Mining Constraints

The following mining constraints were considered for conversion of mineral resource
to mineral reserve.

• Non acquired Area

• HT Line
• Conveyor Belt
• Statutory Boundary
• Ultimate Pit

However, to arrive at mineable reserves following major constraints have been

considered based on the topographic survey, while it is presumed that the other
constraints shall be taken care during mining activities.

• Leaving a statutory barrier of 7.5 m from ML.

• Leaving 50 m all along the HT Line non acquired land boundary considering
non-conventional mining within 50 to 300 m safe zone for blasting.
• Considering ultimate pit slope of 45° (considering an ultimate bench width of
10 m in each bench)
• Mining limit at depth upto 280 mRL (based on the mineability of the deposit
with sufficient space at least 50 m for mining operation and transportation at
bottom).

Although the water table is expected at about 30-45 m from ground level based on
the data available from various pits and wells, it may not be a constraint to mining as
by use of suitable size pumping arrangement the water could be pumped out of the
mining pit and shall be drained in sump.

A 3D conceptual pit considering above design has been created and mineable
reserves have been computed for the deposit within the pit. A bench height of 10 m
has been considered with bench slope of 80° with ramp having width of 10 m and
slop of 1 in 16.

5.3 Ultimate Pit Design
The objective of pit optimisation is to obtain an ultimate pit which meets corporate
goals, as well as achieves a practical pit design. Using this pit design tool of SURPAC
the practical pits are then designed to meet the overall slope and the production
requirements. These practical pits then include haul roads, berms, and different
bench/berm configurations.

A 3D conceptual pit considering above design has been created and mineable
reserves have been computed for the deposit within the pit. A bench height of 10 m
has been considered with bench slope of 80° with ramp having width of 10 m and
with slope of 1 in 16.

Figure 26 Ultimate Pit Design

Mineable Reserve evaluation has been done with the designed ultimate pit. The total
reserve within the ultimate pit with average grade of all the radicals are as indicated
in the following table.
