Activity 2: Case Study on 2 shirt brands (One international and another local brand)
Indian Shirt Brand:
Raymond – Raymond is a well-known Indian brand for their fine fabrics and tailored shirts
for formal and semi-formal wear.
International Shirt Brand:
Levi's – Levi’s is an American brand known for its denim products. It offers casual and semi-
formal shirts.
Raymond shirts are priced in the range of 1,000 to 2,500, while Levi's shirts range from
1,500 to 4,000.
There are various reasons why there is a difference between their prices, costs and profits:
Target audience: Raymond targets the formal and semi-formal wear, whereas Levi's
focuses on casual wear. Materials used in their products differ, which impact the
pricing.
Brand positioning: Raymond is known for its affordability and quality whereas Levi's
is a brand with a premium positioning, so its prices are higher.
Production costs: Raymond sources many fabrics locally, which lead to lower costs.
Levi's, being an international brand, have higher import duty.
Marketing and distribution: Levi's typically has higher marketing and advertising
budgets which can contribute to higher prices.
From Manufacturer to end users both brands follow almost distribution channel:

Activity 3: Analysis of Indian Fabric patterns
Indian textiles are known for their rich and diverse patterns.
Rangoli Pattern on Bed sheet
Rangoli is a traditional Indian art form that involves creating colorful patterns. Symmetry in
Rangoli patterns can be seen in the following ways:
Reflection symmetry: Rangoli designs exhibit reflection symmetry, with a central axis
dividing the pattern into two equal halves. Both halves mirror each other.
Rotational symmetry: Rangoli patterns also display rotational symmetry, with the design
appearing unchanged when rotated by certain angles.
Checkerboard Pattern on a shirt
This pattern is made up of alternating squares of two different colors, arranged in a grid
formation.
Symmetry in Checkerboard patterns can be seen in the following ways:
Reflection symmetry: The checkerboard pattern exhibits reflection symmetry along both its
horizontal and vertical axes.
Translational symmetry: This pattern displays translational symmetry, which means that the
pattern can be shifted along a certain direction, and it will still look the same.
