1 Automatic Control Unit

1.1 General Information

1.2 Installation position

The Automatic Control Unit is installed wall‐mounted inside the bridge control console

in the wheelhouse.

The distance between this part and the operator should not be more than 80 cm.

1.3 Installation procedures

(1) Embedding the Automatic Control Unit to the reserved installation position on

wheelhouse control console. Detailed size of mounting hole see the contour

installation diagram of HLD 0701.1AZ Automatic Control Unit in Appendix C.

(2) Refer to the location of the installation diagram and fix the unit on the back of the

module by using M4 screws.

(3) The spring washer and flat pad should be applied to the screws during installation

and fasten with the hexagon combination tool in the end.

2 Steering Mode Switch

installation.

(1) Embedding the Steering Mode Switch to the reserved installation position on

wheelhouse control console. Detailed size of mounting hole see the contour

installation diagram of HLD0701.2AZ Steering Mode Switch in Appendix C.

(2) Refer to the location of the installation diagram and fix Steering Mode Switch on

the back of the module by using M4 screws.

(3) The spring washer and flat pad should be applied to the screws during installation

and fasten with the hexagon combination tool in the end.

7.2 Installation position

hanging installation.

7.3 Installation procedures

(1) Install Steering Control Unit to the reserved installation position on wheelhouse

control console. Detailed installation size shown in the Steering Control Unit

installation diagram of HLD 0701.13 AZ in Appendix C.

(2) Fix the mounting ears at both ends of Steering Control Unit with M6 screws

according to the position shown in installation diagram.

(3) The spring washer and flat pad should be applied to the screws during installation

and fasten with the hexagon combination tool in the end.

8 Relay

8.1 General Information

8.2 Installation position

Relay is installed in the internal of navigation console in the cab by rail type installation.

8.3 Installation procedures

(1) Install Relay to the reserved installation position on wheelhouse control console.

(2) Mounting Relay to the rail as shown in Figure8.

(3) Finally, the end bulkheads of Relay are fixed with hexagon combination tool.

9 Lever Drive System

9.1 General Information

Figure 9.

(2) Tools for installation: small straight screwdriver, Hexagon combination tool.

1) Installation diagram refer to the installation diagram of HLD 0703 AZ Rudder

Feedback Unit in Appendix C.

2) Outline drawing refer to the outline diagram of HLD 0703 WX Rudder Feedback

Unit in Appendix C.

9.2 Installation position

The Lever Drive System is installed in the Rudder Feedback Unit of steering gear room,

which is used to connect the Rudder Feedback Unit and the ship rudder blade to

achieve the purpose of feedback rudder.

9.3 Installation procedures

(1) Install the Lever Drive System in the reserved installation position of Rudder

Feedback Unit in steering gear room. Detailed installation size refers to the

installation diagram of HLD 0703 AZ Rudder Feedback Unit in Appendix C.

(2) Fix the Lever Drive System to the Rudder Feedback Unit and the rudder blade

connecting rod according to the position shown in installation diagram.

(3) Mark the punching position on the installation diagram and fix connecting rod with

Ø4 locating pin after completing installation of connecting rod system.

10 Rudder Feedback Unit

10.1 General Information

adjustable spanner etc.

(3) Name and number of installation drawings:

Feedback Unit in Appendix C.

2) Outline drawing refer to the outline diagram of HLD 0705 WX Rudder Feedback

Unit in Appendix C.

10.2 Installation position

Rudder Feedback Unit is installed on the rudder blade of steering gear room, which is

connected to ship's rudder stock by the connecting rod system to achieve the purpose

of acquiring actual rudder.

10.3 Installation procedures

(1) Install the Rudder Feedback Unit in the installation position reserved for Rudder

Feedback Unit in steering gear room. Detailed installation size refers to the

installation diagram of HLD 0705 AZ Rudder Feedback Unit in Appendix C.

(2) Fix the Lever Drive System to the Rudder Feedback Unit and the rudder blade

connecting rod according to the position shown in installation diagram.

(3) Mark the punching position on the installation diagram and fix connecting rod with

Ø4 locating pin after completing installation of lever drive system.

Wiring
(1) Required tools of wiring: small straight screwdriver, combination sleeve, flat
terminal crimping pliers, pipe type terminal crimping pliers etc.

(2) A detailed definition of wiring terminal see the corresponding wiring diagram
in Appendix B.

(3) The connection from console to rudder feedback is CAN loop. If the shipboard
cable with shielding layer is needed, the length of the cable should not be more
than 500 m, and the angle of bending should not be less than 90°during cabling.
