1
WEEK 1

FASTING
CORRECTLY
(JANUARY 6 - 10, 2025)

2
DAY 1 – JANUARY 6, 2025
BENEFITS OF FASTING
Many Christians view fasting as too radical and
unnecessary. However, Jesus taught about fasting in
Matthew 6:16-18, which shows that God desires us to
willingly incorporate fasting as a normal part of our
lives. Fasting is essential because it reveals our true
selves. It does not change God's position; rather, it
draws us closer to Him.

Advantages of Fasting:
1. Fasting refreshes our spirit and rekindles our hunger
and thirst for God.
2. It is a response to receive God's grace, not a means
to earn it.
3. Fasting helps shift our focus from physical concerns
to spiritual matters.
4. It enables us to better understand God's perfect will.
5. Fasting is an act of physical surrender as an offering
to God.

3
Scripture:
Matthew 6:16-18

Prayer:
Thank You, God, for helping me complete the first day
of fasting. I pray that You continue to strengthen me
to see it through to the end. In the name of Jesus,
Amen.

Challenge:
Share Your Experience of Fasting on This First Day!

4
DAY 2 – JANUARY 7, 2025
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES WHILE FASTING
You may have participated in a 21-day fasting prayer
before and struggled to complete it. This could have
been due to physical weakness, emotional challenges,
or distractions around you. During the early days of
your fast, you might feel discomfort, such as
headaches or fatigue. While physical weakness can be
evident, the greatest challenge during fasting often
lies in your mind, not your stomach.

You might also face emotional challenges, where you

find it difficult to maintain self-control and may even
feel anger. If this happens, it's not a reason to stop
fasting. Instead, take time to calm yourself and pray.
You may encounter unsupportive situations, especially
if those around you are not fasting. Offers to
compromise or break your fast will test your resolve.

The primary challenge of fasting is not physical but

mental. It requires determination to achieve your
fasting goals. If you wish to succeed in your fast, it will
depend on your faith and relationship with God.

5
Scripture:
Matthew 4:1-11

Prayer:
Father, help me overcome every temptation to stop
fasting. Grant me physical and mental strength to
persevere until the end. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Challenge:
Share your experience of intentionally avoiding or
rejecting anything that could lead you to fail in your
fast today!

6
DAY 3 – JANUARY 8, 2025
HEART ATTITUDE
Humility is the key to drawing closer to God. It must be
practiced wholeheartedly. One effective way to
cultivate humility is through fasting. Just as David and
Ezra humbled themselves before God by fasting to
address their sins, we too can embrace this practice.

When you fast, it should not be for the sake of gaining

attention or praise from others. Fasting is not a
religious ritual meant to earn God's favor. Rather, it is a
means to develop a closer relationship with God.
Fasting should not make us feel more spiritual than
others; instead, it should make our hearts more
sensitive to the needs of those around us. During your
fast, if you notice someone in your vicinity who needs
support in their spiritual growth, take the time to pray
for them.

Fasting is also not a way to demand that God fulfill our

desires. Instead, adopt an attitude of willingness to
follow His will. Pray during your fast that your ego
diminishes and your heart becomes more pliable. This
way, you will experience the true benefits of fasting.

7
Scripture:
James 4:6

Prayer:
Lord, grant me humility. Teach me to approach You
not with a sense of entitlement, but to be made
worthy by Your grace. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Challenge:
Write down the names of people you long to see
experience spiritual growth!

8
DAY 4 – JANUARY 9, 2025
ESSENTIAL ASPECTS OF FASTING
Fasting becomes meaningless if it merely consists of
refraining from food for a few hours. You need to set a
clear purpose for your fast. The primary goal of fasting
should be to enhance your relationship with God.

While fasting, you don’t have to neglect your

responsibilities as a homemaker, spouse, student, or
worker. Instead, arrange your daily activities to create
more time for prayer, reading Scripture, and
worshiping God.

Even if it seems like time is against you and your

busyness feels relentless, don’t let this hinder you from
continuing your fast. Every moment you dedicate to
seeking God is a delight to His heart.

To strengthen your resolve and help you complete

your fasting prayer, consider fasting alongside fellow
believers. Engage in spiritual activities with your
Connect Group, such as sharing testimonies or praying
together.

9
Scripture:
Isaiah 58:1-12

Prayer:
Grant me wisdom to manage my time throughout this
day. I long to fellowship with You amid all my activities.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Challenge:
Share your experience of managing your time amidst
all your activities to ensure you could pray today!

10
DAY 5 – JANUARY 10, 2025
STAY FOCUSED
Fasting for an extended period is not easy. It requires
strong determination and sincerity to complete it.
Remind yourself of the goals you wish to achieve
during this time of prayer and fasting.

The final weeks of fasting can often feel challenging

for many, leading some to want to rush through it.
How can we remain focused until the end of our fast?
You might consider going to a special place to rest in
the Presence of God, or you can take a moment away
from your daily routine to be alone with Him, no
matter where you are.

Everyone's experience with fasting is unique, so don’t

measure your fast against others. You might feel like
you haven’t accomplished anything if you don’t
experience breakthroughs like someone else. The
focus of your pursuit should be to build a relationship
with God, not merely to seek blessings or miracles. If
you diligently cultivate your spiritual life, change will
surely come. That is true victory, as its impact is eternal
for your personal life.

11
Scripture:
Habakkuk 2:20

Prayer:
I want to remain close to You, Lord. Draw me back
into Your Presence whenever I start to drift away.
Your love is my source of strength. Thank You, Lord
Jesus. Amen.

Challenge:
Write down your plan for how you will fill your days
during the fast!

12
WEEK 2

BUILDING A
PRAYER LIFE
(JANUARY 11 - 15, 2025)

13
DAY 6 – JANUARY 11, 2025
LONGING FOR GOD
The essence of prayer is enjoying fellowship with God.
A hunger for God is a sign of spiritual life; if we no
longer desire to seek Him, it indicates that our
spirituality is either dead or sick.

One root of laziness in seeking God is pride. When you

realize that you need His guidance and depend on
Him at all times, prayer will no longer feel like a
burden. Make prayer a decision, a spiritual discipline,
and a source of joy.

Psalm 63:2 (NIV) says, “I have seen You in the sanctuary

and beheld Your power and Your glory.” This reflects
David's deep longing for God. He expresses that his
body yearns for God, not just his heart. Fasting in
prayer trains our bodies not only to overcome the flesh
but also to actively seek God through prayer, worship,
and reading His Word.

14
Scripture:
Psalm 42:2-3, Psalm 63:1-9

Prayer:
Father, I want to rejoice in Your Presence. I offer my
body as a living sacrifice through this prayer and
fasting. In the name of Lord Jesus. Amen.

Challenge:
Write down your quiet time activities and what you
learned today!

15
DAY 7 – JANUARY 12, 2025
INTIMACY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
John 14:18 reminds us that God will not leave us as
orphans; He promises to return to us. When the Lord
Jesus ascended to Heaven, He made a promise that
the Holy Spirit would be given to accompany us. How
can we experience the presence of the Holy Spirit? The
Holy Spirit invites us into fellowship with Him. He
resides within believers, yet many people fail to
recognize Him as a personal being. Often, we view the
Holy Spirit merely as a force or influence.

We need to greet the Holy Spirit regularly each day

and engage in conversation with Him because He is a
person. If the Holy Spirit is indeed a person, we should
seek Him out for fellowship and to get to know Him
better. As a personal being, the Holy Spirit can feel
neglected or unwanted. The real spiritual battle we
face is the conflict between our flesh and the Holy
Spirit every day. If we can win this spiritual battle, no
power of the enemy can prevail against us. When we
speak in tongues, we cultivate intimacy with the Holy
Spirit daily, and He fills our hearts with heavenly joy as
we go about our day. God has given us the gift of
tongues so that we can pray.

16
Scripture:
2 Corinthians 13:14

Prayer:
Teach me to know You, Holy Spirit. I want to
experience Your presence every day. In the name
of the Lord Jesus, Amen.

Challenge:
Write about your experience of fellowshipping with
the Holy Spirit!

17
DAY 8 – JANUARY 13, 2025
THE PRESENCE OF GOD
Each of us should have a heart that deeply desires God
personally! In building our relationship with Him, we
must not hold back. During this fasting period, use
your time to expand your heart’s capacity to
continually seek the presence of God, both at home
and in church. Here are the characteristics of God's
presence:
1. COMFORTING
In God's presence, our problems seem to fade away.
Our struggles may still exist, but the burden of those
problems is broken when we enter His presence. This
is why we always feel peace after being in His
presence.
2. FULFILLING
God's presence fills the hearts of those who approach
Him with noble and useful things. This is why our
hearts feel satisfied after kneeling at His feet.

18
3. DIRECTING
Those who enter God's presence are filled with His
wisdom and guidance. This is why we become more
discerning after experiencing His presence.

Scripture:
Exodus 33:11-23

Prayer:
Take me deeper into Your presence, Father. Touch
my heart and fill me with Your love. In the name of
the Lord Jesus, Amen.

Challenge:
Write about your experience of being in the
presence of God today!

19
DAY 9 – JANUARY 14, 2025
THE PRAYER OF THE RIGHTEOUS
Prayer is not merely informing God about our needs
since He is all-knowing. Rather, prayer transforms our
perspective so that we can receive God's guidance. It is
a two-way communication, not a one-way street.
Obedience is the cost of our relationship with the Holy
Spirit. Each person's experience with God can vary
based on the price of obedience we are willing to pay.
Many pray hoping to gain something from God
without committing to His will. Our prayers must align
with how we respond to God's desires. The story of
Naaman's healing from leprosy serves as a lesson on
obedience. During this season of fasting and prayer,
God may be calling you to repent from sin, fulfill
obligations you have neglected, or extend forgiveness
to someone or something else.

God's desire is for us to live holy lives before Him, not

because we must be holy to approach Him, but
because He wants us to live rightly in His sight.

20
Scripture:
2 Kings 5:1-14

Prayer:
Thank You, Lord, for Your guidance today. Align my
life with Your Word. I confess all my wrongs and
desire to live according to Your truth. In the name
of the Lord Jesus, Amen.

Challenge:
Write about your experience of obeying God’s
voice today (His voice through the Bible, service, or
CG pastoral care)!

21
DAY 10 – JANUARY 15, 2025
LIVING IN THE WORD OF GOD
The Apostle Paul reminds us in his letter to the
Ephesians not to live like those who do not know God,
with futile minds and darkened understanding, far
from a life of fellowship with Him. As believers, we
must cultivate the spiritual discipline of reading God’s
Word. Through His Word, God intends to teach us,
reveal our errors, correct our behavior, and instruct us
in righteousness. While we can hear God’s Word
through church sermons or CGs, anyone wishing to
build an intimate relationship with God will yearn to
hear His voice personally. Our spiritual ears will not be
properly trained if we are lazy about reading the
Scriptures.

God’s Word is a spiritual weapon for believers. You can

pray by declaring the promises in His Word. When you
are weak, declare the truth about His faithful, powerful,
and loving nature to strengthen you. Instead of merely
quoting specific verses, ask for revelation regarding
His character and His plans to be unveiled.

22
Scripture:
Psalm 119

Prayer:
Enlighten my heart, Lord, and I desire to know You
through the Word I read today. In the name of the
Lord Jesus, Amen.

Challenge:
Write down the scripture you meditated on today
and the revelation you received!

23
WEEK 3

THE POWER OF
PRAYER
(JANUARY 16 - 20, 2025)

24
DAY 11 – JANUARY 16, 2025
PRAYER BRINGS HEALING AND RESTORATION
Are you facing a prolonged problem that seems never-
ending? Such a situation can leave your soul feeling
burdened, and illness may begin to affect your body. If
you need healing, enter into the Presence of God.
Approach Him with a humble heart as you seek His
face.

Pray and praise Him with all your body, soul, and spirit
so that His power may work in your life.
Humbling yourself before God is a posture of respect
and reverence, yielding to His authority and
commands. Humility enables you to accept your
reality with gratitude, without blaming the situation,
others, or God.

As you pray, don’t just ask for healing or restoration;

activate your faith by declaring God’s Word over your
circumstances. Through the fasting prayers we are
undertaking, believe that healing and restoration are
happening in your life.

25
Scripture:
Jeremiah 30:17-22

Prayer:
I believe, Lord, that You are able to heal and restore
my life. Grant me faith and strength as I face difficult
situations. Keep my heart trusting that only in the
name of Lord Jesus will I find help and miracles.
Amen.

Challenge:
Write down the area of restoration you hope to see in
your life!

26
DAY 12 – JANUARY 17, 2025
EXPERIENCING THE SUPERNATURAL DIMENSION
THROUGH PRAYER
When we enter the presence of God and read His
Word, we gain clarity. We can distinguish between
needs and wants, ambitions, and what truly glorifies
God. Those who commune with the Holy Spirit will
understand God's heart. Through prayer, God reveals
His plans to us.
How does this happen?
1. We are led to the right places.
2. We meet the right people.
3. We receive wisdom to make the right plans.

Most people build their lives on human thoughts and

wills. When you pray, surrender your thoughts,
feelings, and desires entirely to God. Living by the
Spirit doesn’t turn a person into a robot; instead, it
instills confidence that every decision and step taken
involves God. Being led by the Spirit allows a person to
experience a dimension beyond their natural abilities.
There will be acceleration, precision, and new wisdom
in all aspects of life.

27
Scripture:
Galatians 5:25

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I long for Your presence in my life always.
Lead me in the path You have shown me. I invite the
Holy Spirit to fill my heart and mind. In the name of
the Lord Jesus. Amen.

Challenge:
Write down what you are anticipating from the Holy
Spirit for your family, studies, work, or ministry!

28
DAY 13 – JANUARY 18, 2025
PRAYER WILL GUARD OUR LIVES
In the end times, the world will become increasingly
corrupt. We must safeguard our freedom from
everything the world offers. The key to overcoming the
world is to build a consistent prayer life, not just pray
occasionally.

Matthew 6:13 (NIV): “And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one.” From the Lord’s
Prayer that Jesus taught us, we learn that prayer is the
heart's anticipation in facing the situations around us.
If someone is far from God, even the miracles they
have received can fade away. Therefore, do not be
complacent or spiritually drowsy; there is no safe place
except in the LORD.

A person who prays does not mean they are free from
problems or challenges in life. However, in the midst of
their difficulties, God is there. God’s presence
strengthens us and protects us from greater harm,
loss, and other adversities.

29
Scripture:
Matthew 6:5-15, Proverbs 4:23

Prayer:
Lead me to never be far from You. I trust You will
keep, protect, and deliver me from all that is evil. In
the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

Challenge:
Write down the struggles you are currently facing
that you wish to be released from!

30
DAY 14 – JANUARY 19, 2025
PRAYER TRANSFORMS OUR LIFE PURPOSE FOR GOD
Generally, the purpose of every believer's life is to
glorify God's name. Discovering God's purpose and
calling for us personally is essential so we do not lose
our way and become weary. The challenge is to seek
out God’s will and trust in it. God's will may not always
be revealed directly or completely; it can come
through guidance and revelation in various ways, such
as through His Word, spiritual leaders, or the natural
events we experience.

Vision is not obtained while we are busy running

around; it comes when we pause and wait on the
LORD. If you never pray, you may tend to live for
yourself, unaware of the direction of your life, merely
going through daily routines without understanding
God's calling for you. Recognize that the devil not only
seeks to steal our salvation but also aims to prevent
believers from fulfilling God's purpose in their lives.

31
Scripture:
Ephesians 5:15-17

Prayer:
Help me understand Your will personally. Establish
my steps to fulfill Your plans through my life. In the
name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

Challenge:
Write down the things you want to do for God
through your life!

32
DAY 15 – JANUARY 20, 2025
PRAYER GIVES BIRTH TO REVIVAL
Ezekiel 22:30: “I looked for someone among them who
would build up the wall and stand before me in the
gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to
destroy it, but I found no one.”
Building the wall is akin to safeguarding the harvest,
interceding for God's people in prayer to ensure they
are not destroyed. When God's wrath is about to be
poured out, He moves His people to invoke His mercy.
Through us, the Holy Spirit intercedes for the salvation
of our families, prays for our city to experience revival,
and encourages God’s congregation to be discipled
and grow.

Do not be satisfied with mere growth in our church;

desire true revival. Revival signifies a wave that turns
the hearts of a generation back to the LORD. The
catalyst for revival is the outpouring of God’s presence,
which increases through intercessory prayer and
worship. Intercessory prayer involves praying for others
and standing between humanity and God. Its impact
on God’s heart is profound and cannot be revoked by
anyone.

33
Scripture:
John 6:39

Prayer:
I pray for every soul bound in darkness to be set free.
Raise up a generation that walks in truth in our city.
In the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

Challenge:
Write down the names of those you are praying for
today!

34
MINGGU 4

BLESSING OF THE
NATIONS
(JANUARY 21 - 26, 2025)

35
DAY 16 – JANUARY 21, 2025
BLESSINGS OF THE NATIONS FOR
THE NEXT GENERATION
We often believe that our businesses and relationships
can expand to the right and to the left, yet we seldom
prepare or affirm this for our descendants. We must
look beyond our own lives to the lives of our children
and grandchildren. God is serious about our
generation.

Your children may not have traveled to other nations,

but nations have already come into their lives through
technology, culture, and media, so they are not
unfamiliar with them. If we do not watch over our
descendants, the devil can take the opportunity to
destroy the next generation.

36
Build an altar of prayer in your family. Pray that your
descendants will receive blessings from the nations—
not just blessings and achievements, but that they will
triumph over the negative influences of the nations
and win nations for Christ. You can also pray for family
members who are studying or working abroad, that
they may be used by God.

Scripture:
Isaiah 54:2-3

Prayer:
Bless all our descendants with a spirit of reverence for
You, Lord. Make their lives a blessing wherever You
place them. In the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

Challenge:
Write down your prayers for your children and family,
especially regarding their studies and work!

37
DAY 17 – JANUARY 22, 2025
DIVINE PROMOTION
Mordecai was a Jew living in exile, as were Daniel and
his companions. What kept them in good positions
even in a foreign land? Observing their lives, we find
that they had a strong prayer life and maintained their
integrity.

To receive divine promotion, we must live clean lives.

With a good reputation, we will gain trust. The Word of
God in Psalm 119:9 says, “How can a young person stay
on the path of purity? By living according to Your
word.” A young person may be youthful in age or
inexperienced. In the midst of competition in the
world, it is essential to live by the Word and in prayer.

38
The difference between those who experience
promotion from God and those who seek it through
their own strength lies in the transformation of their
quality of life. Those who recognize that their
promotion comes from God will guard their hearts and
grow closer to Him. Many stop attending church and
praying when success arrives. If you desire promotion,
start with the LORD and continue to walk with Him.

Scripture:
Luke 18:9-14

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I thank You for all Your works in my life. I
believe there are greater things ahead of me. Prepare
my heart to be ready for Your blessings. In the name of
the Lord Jesus. Amen.

Challenge:
Write down your current position and what your
hopes are for the future!

39
DAY 18 – JANUARY 23, 2025
RECEIVING BLESSINGS FROM THE NATIONS
You may currently find yourself separated from family
and living abroad due to studies or work. In every
journey of your life, there is surely a purpose from God
within it. There are several stories in the Bible that can
serve as references for us.

Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, and Daniel all lived in

foreign lands. Yet, while they were there as sojourners,
they became increasingly blessed. It is said that
Abraham and Jacob had vast herds of livestock, Isaac
dug wells that yielded water, Joseph became a ruler
who provided for his family during a famine, and
Daniel held important positions in various
governments.

40
What can we learn from their lives? Even though they
lived in foreign lands, they maintained their prayer
altars.

If you happen to be in a city or country where there is

no GMS, don’t let that be a reason for your spiritual life
to decline. Keep your prayer life strong, participate in
available streaming services, and seek out a spiritual
community to support your growth.

Scripture:
Daniel 6:11

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, guide my steps wherever I am, that I may
live according to Your truth. I desire to build a close
fellowship with You and long to grow in the
knowledge of You. In the name of Lord Jesus, Amen.

Challenge:
Write down the names of family members who
currently live in another city or country and pray for
them!

41
DAY 19 – JANUARY 24, 2025
BLESSINGS FROM THE NATIONS FOR WORK
OR ENDEAVORS
If you are struggling with your work or business these
days, the steps you need to take are to pray and work
even harder. Prayer does not replace hard work; rather,
it helps you take the next steps.

Proverbs 24:27 says, "Finish your outdoor work and get

your fields ready; after that, build your house." From
this verse, we learn several things:
1. "Finish your outdoor work" means to do your work
diligently and work as if for the Lord.
2. "Get your fields ready" signifies having an
understanding of your work, including current
developments and how you can anticipate them.
3. "Build your house" means to establish your
endeavors with God. Believe that He can transfer
blessings from the nations to your work or promote
you to the nations.

42
Scripture:
Proverbs 22:29

Prayer:
I pray for new innovations in my work, and that God
will grant me the ability to manage and grow it. I
believe that blessings from the nations will flow into
my endeavors. In the name of Lord Jesus, Amen.

Challenge:
Write down your prayers and hopes for your business
and work this year!

43
DAY 20 – JANUARY 25, 2025
BLESSINGS FROM THE NATIONS FOR INDONESIA
Indonesia is a nation with thousands of islands and a
dense population. It is blessed with abundant natural
resources, particularly spices. The beauty of its
landscapes and cultural diversity are pillars of
Indonesia’s tourism. Indonesia also holds a strategic
position in the eyes of the world, offering many factors
that encourage business investment.

However, the prosperity of the Indonesian people

depends not solely on these factors, but on the prayers
of the righteous that are continually lifted up. Prayer
will open the doors for blessings and new
breakthroughs in Indonesia. These blessings
encompass not just physical prosperity but also
spiritual richness. The habits of Indonesian society,
such as complacency, disregard for the law,
corruption, and other hindrances, need
transformation.

44
Pray that God will bless Indonesia with skilled
individuals and send competent people from various
nations to build Indonesia, and that He will bring the
wealth of the nations to flood every sector in
Indonesia. Also, pray for Indonesia's leaders to
establish good relationships with leaders of other
nations, fostering mutually beneficial cooperation.

Word of God:
Isaiah 60:11

Prayer:
We declare prosperity, security, and peace over
Indonesia. We bless Indonesia with a spirit of
reverence for God and a spirit of knowledge of God. In
the name of Lord Jesus, Amen.

Challenge:
Write down your prayers and hopes for Indonesia!

45
DAY 21 – JANUARY 26, 2025
BLESSINGS FROM THE NATIONS FOR GMS
Romans 9:24 reminds us that we, whom He has called,
are not only from among the Jews but also from the
nations. This verse can serve as our prayer, that God
calls GMS not just from among the Indonesian people
but also from other nations.

The evangelistic strategy of GMS is through

discipleship. Every soul that has been harvested
through services or other events does not become a
lost sheep without a shepherd. Thus, GMS longs for
each location to host a House of God as a place to
disciple them. The church or service must be central in
our lives.

Pray that in every location where GMS exists, it will

disciple souls from various ethnic groups, including
foreigners. And in every location where ROSC operates,
it will be a church that disciples all nations, not just
reaching the Indonesian diaspora.

46
Scripture:
Acts 13:47

Prayer:
We call forth every tribe and nation to come and fill
every GMS service. We believe that God will send new
souls to be discipled and nurtured through each of our
CGs. In the name of Lord Jesus, Amen.

Challenge:
Write down the city or country you are praying for
GMS to establish a presence there!
