Hi, thank you so much for the invitation to this interview today. I’m very grateful for this opportunity!
I am xxx from the University of xxx. I am currently in the last year of my degree in Accounting and Finance.
My core modules include Finance, Basics in Accounting, and xxx. These modules gave me a solid
foundation of accounting knowledge and provided me with a good understanding of the requirements

I did an internship at xxx (company) as xxx (role) during the penultimate year of my degree. Within my
internship, I accumulated working knowledge of xxx (content of internship) and helped xxx (project)
achieve xxx (outcome).
Outside of my academic studies, I am an active sports player and I love to play tennis. I joined our

Sure, I am interested in xxx (company) for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, it is one of the biggest
players in the xxx industry. It had an annual revenue of xxx in 2021, which is x% growth as compared to
2020. Xxx accounts for x% of the market, investing x amount of its revenue every year to develop cutting
edge technology to further strengthen its market share within the industry.
Also, I had the opportunity to speak to a couple of your employees during your career fair events and
alumni events organised by my University. I really appreciate the values that xx uphold and the beliefs of
xxx (value). I like that the firm puts its employees first and ensures a safe, diverse and dynamic
environment for its employees to work in.
Lastly, through my conversation with xxx (specific employee whom you talked to), I understood the
career path offered within the firm, xxx (e.g. start off as a graduate, gain experiences as a junior and receive
coaching on the job, ultimately, perform the role independently and produce deliverables for the firm). It
fits very well with my short and long term career plan and I see myself working through the path with xxx
(firm) to achieve my career goals.

I would like to start off by saying that I believe I am great fit for the role and xxx (the firm), I share lots in
common with the role and I really admire the culture of xxx, which is xxx (culture). I would like to further
elaborate my point in the following 3 areas.
First of all, I am very analytical when it comes to numbers and storytelling with the numbers provided. I
developed my analytical skills through the education that I have received over the years and strengthen it
in my degree where I have decided to pursue Accounting and Finance as a career. I am projecting to
receive a xxx (result) for my degree and it partly reflects my ability in the field.
Secondly, I love to interact with people and I am proud to say that communication is one of my biggest
strengths. I learnt that the role is a client facing role with intensive client interaction opportunities. I am
excited to develop my communication skills and looking forward to speaking with clients of all calibre.
Lastly, I am a fast learner and agile to new working environments. I am a great team player and have
experience working in a team not only as a team member, but also a team leader where I lead my team to
push through our University group project with a tight deadline. I am confident that I would fit right into
your team and put my strengths in to the new role.

I believe one of my biggest strengths is that I am a great team player. I would like to think that I am a
people person, and I really enjoy being in a team where we would work towards a common goal. I think
some of the key factors that contributed to my strength are that I am output focused, and I like to ensure
that the team is on the right path to creating the desired output. I am very attentive, not only to the task at
hand but also to the needs of teammates. I will offer my help where I can support my teammates and
overcome any obstacles in their way. I am also very agile and is willing to be flexible where needed for the
team; I identify the actions to be taken under different circumstances and ensure that I am committed to
the actions.
During the 3rd year of my study, I was in a team completing our group project. The aim of the project is
to complete a piece of financial analysis for a start-up company. I broke the project down into several
specific tasks and allocated the tasks to each team member based on their preference and expertise. As
the project went along, I kept track of the progress, checked up on each teammate, and ensured that
everything was carried out as planned. When a team member was stuck or needed help for their part, I
took the initiative to arrange team meetings so that we could solve the issue collaboratively.
We performed a presentation to present our work, and the project was very well received. I believe this
will be hugely beneficial in the future role as I understand that I will constantly be working in teams. I
would like to put my strengths in practice and help the team succeed in the future.

In one of my 3rd year group projects, I encountered a difficult situation where one of my teammates was
not engaged in the project and did not attend team meetings and complete his part in time.
In order to ensure the smooth delivery of the project and to complete the coursework in time. I took the
lead to understand what the difficulties were and what can I do to help him. I scheduled a coffee chat with
the teammate and understood the obstacles that were preventing him from completing the coursework. I
understood that he was unwell for the lecture on the contents of the coursework and therefore had no
idea how to complete his part of the work. I shared my notes for the course and offered to help him with
this part.
As a result, we handed in the coursework in time for the final submission and received very good

I think my biggest weakness is that I get stressed easily when I had multiple deadlines happening in a
short time frame with conflicting priorities. It is exam season recently and I have multiple essay deadlines
and exams to take within the course of one month.
I recognised my stress levels going up when deadlines are pressing and I knew that I have to actively
manage it to make sure that I meet the deadlines. I made a timeline detailing what the future exams are
and put a study plan together to plan out my tasks in order to complete them. There were milestones in
the study plan to make sure that I review my progress and adjust the plan accordingly. Having a detailed
plan really helped me alleviate the stress and clear my head for the work ahead. I also make sure that I
have enough rest time to unwind and de-stress. I have found this very helpful in easing stress.
I know that this weakness is challenging for me. However, I had established mechanisms to cope with it
and I know that there is always room for improvement in dealing with multiple deadlines, I am constantly
exploring ways to ensure that I improve my project management skills.

For the first three years, I understand that I am applying for a graduate scheme programme, which entails
that I would be studying for a qualification for the first three years whilst working. My focus is to learn on
the job and ensure that I am efficient at work and in my studies for the qualification. Within these three
years, I would like to gain as much exposure to different clients and industries as possible and gain
experience in different areas. I would also like to extend and further progress my strengths in data analysis
and champion data analytics within the team.
In 5 years' time, I would see myself as a contributing core member of my team. I really value
professionalism; I wish I could gain a deeper understanding of the work and be more focused on the area
I am interested in. I am also very passionate about leading and mentoring colleagues within the team, and

Sure, I understand that the role of an audit assistant will involve dealing with clients on a day to day basis.
Customer service is very important for the role as we represent our firm when we are faced with our
clients. In my understanding, I believe good customer service stems from professionalism and it consists
of mainly two parts: quality work and great communication skills.
I would liaise with the clients in a professional manner that is polite and confident and ensure that I
respond to any client queries or requests in an efficient manner. When it comes to the quality of my
output, I will make sure that the work is completed with attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of the
work and raise anything that I am unsure of to my line manager. I would avoid any uncertainties in the
completion and the delivery of the work to improve the quality of my work.

Here's an example where I set a goal and achieved it. I joined the running club at my University with a
desire to be fitter and healthier. I am very enthusiastic about running and always enjoyed running shorter
distances in my own time. After I joined the running club, I was introduced to long-distance running,
having the ability to run half or even full marathons.
I started trying long distances however I did not improve at the pace I would like to. I reflected that there
may be a lack of a consistent and methodical way to approach long-distance running. I set myself a goal
to participate in the next marathon event. I put together a 3-month training plan to prepare myself for the
marathon. Carrying out the plan was physically and mentally challenging but I am very proud that I stuck

I love to run! I would say that I am really passionate about running as I truly felt its benefits, not only for
my body but also for my mind. I like to go for a short run every morning as it gets me out of the house, a
quick run makes me feel very refreshed and gets me ready for the day.
Long-distance running, on the other hand, is another case. I like it because it is strategic, it involves
planning the use of my energy, having to know my body very well and understanding the best way to
preserve energy and use it consistently. It is also a great testament to my mind as it tests my mental
stamina to endure the long runs that go on for hours.
I believe running had made me a better version of myself, it trained me to be fit and healthy physically
and also the stamina and the determination to complete the distance set to finish. I believe these qualities
are very valuable in the workplace as well and will definitely help me succeed in the role.

Outside of my studies, I have many hobbies that I take part in my free time to help me take my mind off
the stress of school work. One exercise that I really enjoy is practising yoga. Moving and stretching my
body really helps me relax and keep a clear head. I always feel refreshed after a yoga session and pumped
up.
Apart from yoga, I also feel relaxed by staying with my friends. I like to invite my friends over for a meal,
where I can cook for my friends. I really enjoy spending time with friends as I can enjoy the moment. At
the same time, we also discuss bounce-off ideas with each other.

When I am feeling a little stressed or under pressure, I try to identify my stress and pressure early in the
process. I would identify the root cause of the exact reason that is causing me the stress, such as working
under tight deadlines or that the work involved is complex. I always make sure that I complete my task
when I am under pressure . In order to do that, I have devised a couple of methods to manage the
pressure.
Firstly, I try to manage my time more effectively, having a list of items that I need to complete and
planning ahead of schedule to ensure that I have reasonable and enough time needed to complete the
task. Secondly, I break the task down into smaller tasks and spread the tasks out. Doing so reduces the
intimation of completing a huge task at once, and allows me to combat a small task one by one.

Common goal:

I understand that I would be expected to work with colleagues that I have never met before when I just
joined. It is very important that I get to know my teammates quickly and build up team morale so that we
can work effectively as a team.
In order to warm ourselves up, I would propose a coffee chat to get to know each other within the team
in an informal setting. I would introduce my background, and let the team know what my experiences
were so that they can reasonably allocate the work within the team. I would also express that I am very
keen to help, learn and develop within the role and I'm really interested in involving in any type of work to
expand my exposure and build up my working knowledge.
Lastly, I would be interested in the experiences of the more experienced members within the team, hear
about the work that they have been involved in before, what does he/she think of the current project and
if they have any tips and tricks to share.

During my 3rd year of Uni, there was once when I was in a group project with a team of 5. The task was
to perform a social experiment and we had to come up with a social phenomenon and research its
potential underlying causes backed with literature review and experiment data.
I took the lead to manage the team by devising an initial research plan and allocated the task to my team
mates and made sure that they were clear of their tasks and what was expected from each of them. The
progress of the project was on track until we hit the brick wall trying to determine the best way to carry
out the experiment. When the issue was raised by the teammate who was responsible for that task, I
quickly organised a team meeting and gathered all teammates together to formulate an action plan
because I know I could not leave the issue to my teammates and I would support he/ she as it is team
effort to complete the project.
In order to resolve the issue, I invited all teammates to speak their minds up and raise suggestions as to
how we could counteract the difficulty. I noted all the suggestions down and evaluated the pros and cons
of each proposal in detail and its feasibility. We fed back on all suggestions and mutually decided on the
solution going forwards. Through this exercise, I made sure that all teammates had a say and spoke up to
share their thoughts. I wanted to let them know that their ideas are invaluable to the team and any
contribution is great for the progress of the team. Each teammate is important to the team and everyone
should do their best to support their team members.
As a result, the issue was resolved through group effort and the project was successfully completed. I
organised a team meal after the project to recognise all the hard work and to celebrate the result that we
have achieved.

This happened once in Uni when I was completing a group project. I was sharing my suggestions on
approaching the project and the methodology to be used, one of my teammates challenged my
approach.
Firstly, I actively listened to his/her opinion attentively and tried to understand the discrepancy in our
ideas. I also tried to understand the full picture, where the idea is coming from, and comprehended the
reasons for the difference.
After having an all-rounded understanding of my teammate's opinion, I accessed the idea and provided
constructive feedback as to where I think the ideas could benefit from each other, where we could take
the best from each other's idea and integrated the approach. I would provide a clear and specific reason
for my proposal and wait for feedback.
If the discrepancies could not be aligned, I will invite all the team members and ask for their opinion. I
believe the team would appreciate a jointly agreed approach to achieve a successful outcome that is
supported by all members in the team.

identify exactly what the feedback is related to and understand the reason for receiving negative feedback.
I will collect all the facts in relation to the feedback and evaluate the things that I've done that were
appropriate in the situation and the things that are not.
After having an all rounded review and consideration, I determined the points that I needed to improve

可以用action plan/to do list来计划任务及用时。

Common goal:
Delegation:
Communication:
Conflict resolution:
In my opinion, there are a couple of elements to good teamwork.
Firstly, I would need to understand what kind of teamwork is required in the role. To my understanding,
when I first join the firm, my role will mainly be project based and I will be working with a group of juniors
led by an incharge and overseen by the manager. I understand my role within my team and what is
required of me, which is to deliver what is allocated to me to the highest standard and help out other
team mates when I had the capacity.
I really appreciate the importance of teamwork in the workplace. Good teamwork would create team
synergy as it facilitates better problem solving by utilising the strengths of different team members,
helping you to coordinate activities towards a bigger common goal.
Communication is key within a team, ensuring each team member is been listened to and feel
comfortable to raise any issues in the team. Helping other team members in need and to have the
flexibility and accountability to take on more work for the team knowing that we are working towards
team success rather than an individual success.
This would be my take on what a good teamwork looks like.

I understand that stress may occur when there are multiple deadlines or the workload increases and there

Firstly, I will identify the root cause of the stress and make sure that I understand the source of the stress so

with the workload or the complexity of the work, I would review the current task, identify the areas that I
needed more knowledge on and create an action plan to divide the tasks into smaller and more

Secondly, I will also look for remediations in my life. I would take time to go on walks, read or exercise to

Before I define someone as difficult people, I ask myself “Is it me?” If yes, I change myself first. If not,
change my approach to get to them and try to change them in order to meet in the middle. I tend to cope
with such people wisely and positively in the following ways.
Firstly, I try to know about the personality of these people and explore why they are difficult to get along
with. Perhaps they are rude, arrogant or just unsociable. It is necessary to use different methods to deal
with different people.
Secondly, instead of burying my head in the sand, I get in touch with them directly and express myself.
Keep polite, control my emotions and take the matter on its merits.
Furthermore, being sincere and care for them, find common topics to strengthen the bond between us.
For example, talk about mutual hobbies and share interesting experiences. Friendship can be built and
being together may be not a difficult thing.
Finally, make compliments on them for their unique merits or advantages, show my respect and empathy,
and offer them help when they are in need.
All in all, I believe I can build healthy relationship with all people and keep my work and life from being

When I worked as an intern in a company I noticed a colleague was rude and made aggressive comments
to a new team member. Apparently the new member felt sad and embarrassed. The decision I needed to
make was whether to go to intervene and stop the colleague. I considered the need of equal
communication and the rule of harmonization set by the company, which should be adhered to by all
colleagues. After thinking over my options, I went over confidently to intervene and asked the aggressive
colleague to have a private talk with me. I told him calmly that I noticed his hurtful language and
misbehavior toward the new member, which was inappropriate and against the rule of the company, and
that I would report to his leader if I were to see him act like this again. He immediately replied that he
would apologize to the other member for his rudeness and not use that language again. In the end I was
happy for making such a correct decision. From this I learn that when I meet inappropriate occasions at
work I should intervene and keep the organizational rules from being harmed. If I had not intervened, the
bullying would have become serious.

Overall, I am vigorous and decisive with excellent performance in work.
First of all, I enjoy working collaboratively. When I work with others, I can always cooperate well, use the

achieve the quality outcome. I prefer to communicate with my colleagues directly and quickly. I choose to
benefit all parties through mutual understanding and share things effectively.
Secondly, regarding my working hours, I am willing to work as late as possible just to get the job done. I
don’t hesitate to spend more time to improve my work.
Finally, I plan each day orderly. I am well organized and can prioritize things in accordance with the

势,最好这些兴趣爱好在简历中是有所体现的。可以考虑这些方面的兴趣爱好:志愿者活动,体现奉献感;
3.在描述兴趣爱好时,可以提到这些点:它们带来成就感;带来新的挑战和要解决的问题;可以舒缓压力;

Sports are my greatest interest. When I have some free time, I take a bicycle and go for a ride, or go
swimming in the sea for about an hour. I try to have a balanced and healthy lifestyle. I try to move as much
as I can while I am not working. Moreover, I love to read books on human psychology, real stories, and

开始30天要做什么(可以考虑你接受培训,了解公司流程,以及是否能马上开展项目);
60天要怎样(可以结合岗位职责的内容考虑);

In the first 30 days, my plan is to familiarize myself with the company, such as getting to know colleagues,

skilled enough to start helping out on projects. In 60 days I plan to collect and arrange industrial data to
analyze the competitor companies, work with my colleagues for our clients’ needs. By 90 days, I plan to

When I was an intern last spring, our company had to make an important decision about pending industry
contracts which would be decided at a management meeting. When my boss was discussing the contract
with his peers, I could see that he was working with old and inaccurate information, which could lead to a
wrong decision. Since I had previously studied the relevant industry regulations, I asked to have a one on
one meeting with my boss to discuss the most recent data related to the decision and how it might affect
our company. I spent time before the meeting updating my own recent information with the most current
sources of the new industry regulations and presented them to my boss with all of the backing details. He
was surprised to learn of the recent changes in industry regulation and thanked me for them. Then he
influenced his peers in a very different way in the next meeting, using some of my research data.

change. So, I arranged a private talk with this member, about what worked and what had to be modified.I
recorded the conversation and scheduled another meeting to follow up on her progress. To keep the
feedback constructive and effective, I acted in a timely, specific and objective manner. Fortunately, I

I appreciate those supervisors who celebrate successes as a team effort. I feel great when they
acknowledge the roles everyone plays in reaching goals. That kind of atmosphere encourages teamwork
over competition. For example, I had a supervisor that sent an email every Friday about what our team did

描绘我们以往工作经历中差旅在继续学习和培训方面有所帮助;
强调我们要完成工作职责的责任心,不管工作需要我们去哪个地方;
提及出差能提升公司的业务网络能力;

Dependable,Respectful, Enthusiastic, Dedicated,Committed,Positive,Persistent,Reliable,
Determined,Fastidious,Steady,Accountable,Responsible,Resourceful, energetic,Honest。

When asked to describe my work ethic, trustworthy and committed are words that immediately come to
my mind. For instance, in my last internship at a busy company, I experienced a high volume of accounts

payable department by dealing with invoices besides my regular payroll tasks.
Very soon, the accounts payable department came to rely on my assistance during our weekend closing

teamwork, our accounts were always on time in all the weeks I worked for the company.

Both independent work and teamwork have their advantages and disadvantages. I enjoy the flexibility of

Big tasks can be time-consuming and demanding. I usually take the following steps to finish them.
To begin with, set a deadline. Deadlines are extremely helpful because it shows me a fruitful future and
puts some pressure on me to get it done. It also keeps me away from procrastination.
Additionally, break it up. Thinking about the whole picture of big tasks can be overwhelming, while
breaking it up into small chunks may lead to an approachable plan. Filling the calendar with small tasks
and finishing them on time gives me a feeling of achievement, which is very motivating.
Thirdly, choose a reward. Adults can still thrive with a reward system. A reward doesn’t necessarily have
to be monetary. It can be anything that I want, like taking an afternoon off or watching the World Cup with
my friends. Rewards refresh my days and generate more motivation for the next big task.
Last but not least, just get started. This is one of the simplest but also the hardest ways to jumpstart my
tasks. I admit that big tasks can be intimidating and I cannot help myself from avoiding them. In this case, I
just need to step out of my comfort zone, trust my plans and follow my commitment to finish them on
time. It always proves that once I get started, big tasks are not that hard at all.

Good customer service means constantly exceeding customers' expectations and going out of your way
to help them solve their problems. For example, during a trip, the flight was delayed for two hours due to
the weather, which meant that the transfer time of my next flight was shortened by two hours, and only
one hour was left for me to pick up my luggage and then go through the transfer formalities. When the
first flight did not arrive at the destination, I told the employee that I was pressed for time. I wanted to
catch the next flight and hoped that I could be the first one to get off the plane. The staff not only
arranged for me to get off the plane first but also contacted the airport of the destination in advance.
When I got off the plane and entered the terminal, there was a special trolley waiting for me and sent me
to the check-in counter to go through the transfer formalities at the fastest speed, which surprised me.
Not only did I catch the next flight, which only took half an hour, but I was very surprised and moved by
the airline service.
Since then, I have never used a different airline again. That kind of impactful experience can turn someone
into a customer for life.

As an English tutor, I have encountered many students who struggle with this subject. Although I have
helped many students improve their grades and test scores, one of my students in particular stood out to
me. She is a Grade 11 student in high school and is very anxious about the upcoming IELTS speaking test.
She always got high scores in IELTS reading, writing and listening practice, but low scores in oral
expression and communication. I know she has enough excellent level, but she never got the support and
confidence improvement she needed.
Over the course of six months, I helped her consistently raise her grade point average to six. While
teaching her to improve her speaking skills, I also taught her how to overcome self-doubt. I gradually
made her more confident. Eventually, she learned to truly enjoy communication instead of seeing it as a
stressor in her life. When she got her IELTS score, she got a 6.5 in speaking. That's the thing I'm most
proud of as a tutor. It made me realize the importance of building student confidence academically.

透明--每个人都能知道他们的角色是什么,他们的同事在做什么工作;
清晰--工作时间是提前设定的;
单调--很多有创造力的人可能会在日常工作中挣扎;
刻板--创造性思维可能会在严格的管理下丧失;
生产率--管理自己的工作量有助于提高士气;
结果--关注工作成果而不是工作政治;
无焦点--员工可能会失去焦点和方向;
无结构--层次结构可能会丢失;
I work well in both environments. My last internship was highly structured at first, but once I completed
my primary delivery work, I was given a much less structured problem to solve for our team. This project
had been tried several times by others without a good solution for the clients. Immediately, I did further
research on new tools which could assist us in achieving the solution. By analysing, calculating and
comparing, I worked out a solution with the use of a new tool that no one in the team had yet worked
with.

Yes, and here’s an example: In a previous role, I was an administrative assistant. A large part of the job
involved putting data, writing emails and answering phones. And because my boss was so busy that
sometimes the working environment could be a little bit extreme. I remember once we were on the
highway heading for a meeting. She was driving while asking me to send emails to our customers, review
all the details of the meeting as well as navigate the road. Therefore, I need to prioritize my tasks. I quickly
set up the GPS for her and then composed emails to our customers while we were driving straight on the
highway, and then double-checked the emails before sending them. After that, I quickly went through all
the information of the meeting to make sure that nothing was missing by putting check marks along the
list. Eventually everything was done before we reached the conference room and my boss was very
satisfied with my multitasking skills.
I was very proud of myself and felt it was really helpful to calm down and start prioritizing.

Probably my biggest regret has been not focusing on my chosen career earlier. As you can see from my
resume, my Bachelor's degree is in English. At that point in my life, I didn't have a clear idea of what I
wanted to do in my career. Therefore, while my friends were preoccupied with either job hunting nor
pursuing further education, I was merely preparing myself for graduation. As a result, I changed job
frequently during my first three several years after graduation because I have no idea about what to do
next. Luckily I found my passion in translating and started my career as a translator five years ago. This job
is great as it constantly brings a sense of achievement. I should have started my career earlier if given
another chance.

When I was an assistant manager, the final cleanup work at my workplace was always regarded to be the
most frustrating part of the day. Some employees tried to make this work more enjoyable by playing
music, but this violated the policy against noise levels in the workplace, even though there were no
customers present. As their senior colleague, I had to follow the policy and tell them that they were not
allowed to play music when they cleaned. Instead, to motivate the workers and make the cleanup more
relaxing, I implemented a reward process based on how quickly they were able to finish the work. The
faster clean-up saved the expense, which outweighed the cost of providing the bonus. The morale of the
workers improved a lot.

I would say that I’m motivated, analytical, creative, encouraging, and friendly.
Motivation comes naturally to me and I’ve always been a self-starter. During my first six months with
XXX Company, I proposed the idea for an all-day, 15-speaker virtual event to promote our company on a
global level. The management team loved the idea and I led a ten-person team to execute the conference.
This included working with vendors to purchase and install new technology when our video conferencing
system crashed the day before the event. We had over 500 participants and the event was featured in
Marketing Today.
I’ve also always enjoyed the analytical side of marketing. I’m constantly looking at numbers to tell a
story. For example, to improve our Revenue-per-Recipient at XXXCompany, I analyzed the KPIs within
Mailchimp to understand why customers were clicking links in our emails, but not purchasing products. I
then segmented our email lists by Engagement levels and created a plan for personalized content. Our
Revenue-per-Recipient improved by $10 in 3-months.
I'm also creative and enjoy developing brand guidelines and customer personas to build compelling
marketing campaigns. As Junior Marketing Manager for ALL MARKETING Agency, I developed the
“Launch Countdown” campaign for X Client to promote the launch of their new HR software. This
campaign coincided with NASA's rocket launch and included a live countdown on the website, an email
and social media strategy, and a product launch event/takeoff watch party. We had over 5,000 early
launch sign-ups and did $30K in sales on launch day.
Finally, I'm encouraging and friendly with everyone I meet. Over the past four years, I have managed three
to 15-person marketing teams. Early on, I realized the need for positive weekly emails to update the team
on company progress AND recognize them for their contributions. I scheduled monthly 1:1's with each
member of my team.
These meetings involved listening, providing critical feedback for growth, and highlighting 2-3 areas
where the member excelled that month. I'm an extrovert at heart and enjoy interacting with others. In
addition to my team, I've always interacted well with other departments, which has helped me to
effectively collaborate and excel as a marketing manager!

I would say my first manager has most impacted my career in terms of a mentor. She had twenty-two
years experience at the time, I really respected her. She was incredibly helpful, she coached me on the job
and taught me about the industry, aiding in my learning process. Not only did I learn the basics of the
industry, I learned so much indirectly. She was the perfect example of how you can effectively run a team. I
picked up on her leadership skills. Everyone within our team respected her because she respected
everyone in return.
She was an amazing leader and my coworkers and I responded really well to the way she ran the team. As
I progressed in my own management career, I incorporated many of her leadership tactics, including the
way she resolved conflicts, how she spoke to her colleagues, and her high level of organization.

If I were interviewing someone for this position, I would look for someone who has a definite career goal,
good communication skills and works hard. In my opinion, it's important for workers to know where they
want to reach in the end, and to set a plan for how to get there. Employees in this role have to do well in
communicating with work partners and clients, so that's important. I think they have to work hard because
they should accomplish the tasks independently or contribute to their teams.

My school education brought me a lot of important qualities. I took part in kinds of research labs outside
of my regular classes. With the help of my professor, I started my own personal study team. I effectively
managed a group and built a positive work environment. Under my management, all members of my
group have been successfully on to seek careers related to our research. That happened a year ago, but
was the basis of my strong management skills. I think that I can lead a productive and positive team at
your company. I am reliable, thoughtful and knowledgeable. I am confident that I can contribute a lot to
your company.

Usually, I prefer to say I'm flexible because I have plans for the future and I enjoy getting small things with
a project. If I have to choose, though, I am truly stronger in the big picture, because I can naturally see the
way different roles come together. As a big-pictured person, I easily know when my colleagues need to be
available for each other. Moreover, I am able to manage procedures to get the timing right. Even when I
do an individual job, I tend to focus on how it will come together finally.

It was the hardest time in my life when my mother had to decide to close down her company. It was a
large book shop with a lot of history, but the economic situation was rather bad. I worked there during
school, so the result was that she lost her business, and I also lost my job. However, I didn’t let that stop
me or become frustrated either. I began to look for a new job the next day and didn’t stop until I got
one.

The last project I led was to conduct a mission to lower our employee turnover rate at ABC Retailing
Industries. I devised a unique hiring procedure, which started to bring positive results by the end of the
year. At the same time, my team calculated the numbers and reworked the employee compensation
schemes. I also led a team of experienced instructors when we set up a learning and development project.
Combined together, these actions reduced the employee turnover rate from 45% to 17%, which was a
great success as a team effort. The development project was even rated No.1 by Training Association that
year.

My greatest fear is letting people down in the workplace. I have always been very empathetic towards
people around me and care about how they feel. Therefore, letting people down influences me greatly,
and I would be upset if I made others disappointed. However, I am on the way to understanding the
importance of being realistic and not taking things into my personal issues. In my opinion, assertiveness is
a vital communication skill which enables me to speak respectfully and appropriately.
