The meeting started with a word of prayer from Elizah Maraburi and then the
Chairperson welcomed all members present.

CONSTITUTION OF NYARIBOMOENIA AND PARTINERS
SELF HELP GROUP
GROUP NAME: NYARIBOMOENIA AND PARTINERS SELF HELP GROUP
ARTICLE 2. GROUP OBJECTIVE:
To improve the living standards of individuals
To perform agricultural activities
To increase income to members
ARTICLE 3A. MEMBERSHIP:
For a person to become a member of the group he/she must:
I) be between the 18 years and above
II) Pay non-refundable registration fee of Ksh.500
III) Willing to abide by the group constitution/ by-laws.
IV) Membership fee of sh.100 for subscription.
V) Lateness pays a fine of 50
VI) No contribution fine Ksh.170
ARTICLE 3B. TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP:
Any member desiring to resign from the group shall give a 1 month notice of the unattended
resignation to the secretary.
ARTICLE 4. MEETINGS:
The group shall have the following meetings:
i) OFFICIALS MEETINGS: To be held when all officials finds need to hold a meeting to
discuss issues concerning the group. The meeting shall be attended by all group officials unless
one has a genuine apology.
ii) GROUP MEETINGS: To be attended by all group members and officials. It will be held
every Wednesday of the week at every meeting the group shall have table banking where
members contribute ksh. 100 each/welfare.
iii) ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: To be held once a year. It will be attended by all
members and officials. It is this meeting the group shall conduct an election and read financial
reports.
iv) EMERGENCY MEETING: to be attended by all members when any emergency issue
arises.
ARTICLE
5. ELECTIONS:
●The group shall be conducting its elections during the Annual General Meeting that will be
held once in a year when the group closes its financial year. Handing over will be done
immediately if new people are elected or serving officials change offices.
●The elections will be done through secret ballot.
●On unavoidable circumstances, a by-election will be done at the middle of the year or any time
of the year to fill the vacant position.
ARTICLE 6. ROLES/ DUTIES OF ELECTED OFFICIALS:
CHAIRPERSON:
i) Chair and coordinate group meetings.
ii) Take charge of all group activities.
iii) Cooperate with other group official to promote group development.
iv) Shall be a signatory to the group account.
VICECHAIRPERSON:
i) Shall take charge when the chairperson is absent.
ii) Organize and coordinate group activities.
iii) Relations officer of the group.
SECRETARY:
i) Shall write and read minutes of all meetings of the group.
ii) Keep all nonfinancial records of the group.
iii) Communication officer of the group.
iv) Signatory to the group account.
VICE SECRETARY:
Act in the capacity of the secretary on event the secretary is absent except being the signatory.
TREASURER:
i) Prepare, read and keep all financial records of the group.
ii) Work closely with other group officials in running the activities of the group.
iii) Signatory to the group account.
ARTICLE 7. BANKING AND FINANCE:
The group shall open an account with KCB BANK- KISII BRANCH.
The group Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer of the group shall be the signatories to that
account but any two of three signatories can sign when withdrawing. Signatories may be
changed but this must be done after a resolution during the annual general meeting or after an
election if any of the signatory is affected.
The group’s source of finance shall be from member’s contribution, savings, fundraising, grants
and donors.
ARTICLE 8. AMENDMENTS:
More than two thirds majority of members of members can make an amendment to any section
of the constitution. But any amendment must be supported by valid reasons. Such reasons must
be documented and presented by the group secretary to members before such an amendment is
affected.
ARTICLE 9. DISSOLUTION:
This group can be dissolved if the objective the group is achieved or when two thirds majority of
group members agree to do so. A copy of a minute of the meeting dissolving the group will to be
presented to the State Department for Social Protection, senior citizens and special programmes
Kisii Central Sub-County for the decision to be valid.
