SUMMER
January 2012
The Present Woods Daytime The sun beams down upon a lake of murky water. A shadowed wooded area is also seen which is very mysterious and unknown as to what lies ahead within the woods. The opening credits then begin slowly with them appearing across the water and further on until the action begins. A closer shot of the dark woods is shown and the opening credits continue. The camera moves along with the woods as the woods become darker and more intense. 4 TEENAGERS emerge from the dirty passageway carrying typical camping equipment and cold cans of beer. Light murmurs of the conversation between the 2 GIRLS and 2 BOYS are heard over the mysterious music being played. A sudden switch and change of tone within the film occurs with a UNKNOWN FIGURE who can see the teenagers feet and figure from behind the trees. Who is clearly watching and following them. The figure then moves from being the trees to follow the teenagers with the dead leaves crumpling underfoot and the wind whispering through the trees. A GIRL from the group of teenagers stops and turns around and as soon as she does the figure runs away with pure panic that it may been seen. Convinced she had seen nothing, the teenagers continue to walk through the wood laughing and joking about the night ahead and how great they think it will be. A BOY mentions a thought of having a campfire and the OTHER GIRL (who did not turn around) agrees. The boy suggests Why dont you go get some
wood for it while we go set up She agrees and hands over her bags and share of the drink and equipment to the boy and goes off in a different direction to go get some wood for their fire while the others go off continuing to talk and laugh about how they shall have a great night. We then see the figure again but this time from the trees scurrying around looking for the girl who has just fallen into their trap. Obliviously the girl continues to look for the wood. Occasionally looking up from the noises she can hear, looking away convincing herself its nothing. The breathe of the figure becomes more intense while the girl become increasingly concerned about the noise she can hear. The girl then sees the figure and is in complete shock and screams with a shivering as she falls to the floor after being stabbed by the child that has been following her. SUMMER then stands above her dead victims body with the knife covered in blood on the cold metal nice which is as cold and as lifeless and her face and her victim.
