2861288 - No pegging relationship between the stock and the requirements - Batch
stock Shelf Life
Component: SCM-APO-PPS-SL (Supply Chain Management > Advanced Planning and Optimization >
Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling > Shelf Life), Version: 10, Released On: 26.04.2022

Symptom
There is no pegging relationship between the stock and the requirements
Shelf life values for Stocks are not transferred from ECC or S/4 to APO PP/DS
At the Product View a suffix (31.12.1969 or 01.01.1970) is added to the order number of the Stock element

Environment
Supply Chain Management (SCM-APO)

Cause
Planning with Shelf Life is active for the material master (/SAPAPO/MAT1 -> properties tab), though the Stock elements are
missing Shelf Life dates in PP/DS.
Once shelf life is active and the stocks have blank shelf life dates in PP/DS, they are considered expired and, therefore, cannot
be used to cover any requirements with pegging.

Resolution
To solve the issue, first you need to decide whether you'd like to consider Shelf Life in PP/DS, and then follow the appropriate
solution. With this, the Stock element in PP/DS will be able to cover the dependent demands via pegging and Availability
Date/Time will be filled.

1) Shelf Life should be ignored in PP/DS

Solution: To deactivate Shelf Life planning in PP/DS, it is necessary to create an enhancement like described in attached note
below:
2747682 Control shelf life planning in product master of S/4
or
2926021 - X: Control shelf life planning in product master of S/4 - improvements

2) Shelf Life should be considered in PP/DS (for planning and pegging)

Solution: The customizing and Master Data need to be adapted to setup the scenario correctly as described in note and wikis
below. Choose wich scenario fits best your business, with or without production date:
Scenario - Shelf Life for Batch Stocks in PPDS (Without Production Date)
810694 - Shelf life with initial production date not transferred
Or
Scenario - Shelf Life for Batch Stocks in PPDS (With Production Date)
751392 - Shelf life R/3 -> APO: Settings in R/3

Please note that in case of S/4 HANA:

An integration model should be created (CFM1) and activated (CFM2) for the object "Classes and Characteristics"
--> The selection criteria in the Integration Model is the Organizational Area specified for the Class in step 2
--> The other Master Data and Transactional Data do not require integration models in S/4HANA PP/DS
Then create new batch stocks or reclassify the existing ones in MSC2n and verify that Shelf Life dates were integrated to
PP/DS

3) The configuration was done but the issue still exists in those stocks that already existed and were not
reclassified. In order to transfer Shelf Life to PP/DS for the stocks that already existed, reclassify the
corresponding batches in S/4 side or APO side. For example, change the Date of Manufacture in MSC2n and save, or
execute mass reclassification with report ZVBRECLB from note 78235).
After that, run RIMODINI report in case you are using APO standalone, or run /SAPAPO/PPDS_DELTA_ORD_TRANS
report in case you are using S/4 Hana, to execute the master data initial transfer.

4) In transaction /SAPAPO/TCLSYS, the Configuration Relevance is set to "Variant Configuration (VC)". To work with Shelf
Life in PP/DS, this customizing must be set to "Characteristics-Dependent Planning (CDP)" instead, as described in SAP
Help Planning with Shelf Life Data in PP/DS:
"Prerequisites
...
To be able to transfer the shelf life data of products, stocks, and sales orders from SAP S/4HANA to PP/DS, you must have
defined CDP as the class system in Customizing."
Go through SAP Help Convert the Configuration Scheme and change the Configuration Relevance of the client with report
/SAPAPO/CONFR_CFGREL_MAINTAIN. Then, change the Date of Manufacture for the Batch in MSC2n and save.

5) Shelf life is transferred to PP/DS and the dates can be seen in the Product View (/SAPAPO/RRP3) but it is not considered
during pegging determination.
Check the note mentioned in Cause 1 topic.
