Class — XIl ‘sgi’INTRODUCTION
There are several types of pollution and while they came
from different source , having different consequences.
Understanding basics of pollution can help environment
conscious individual to minimize their contribution of
these dangers.
There are certain basis types of pollution, and each one
has different effect. As a result environment which include
air, water, soil get polluted. Pollution is the introduction of
many harmful material. These harmful material are called
pollutants. Pollution in fact is a part of our lives today.
Natural pollution occur naturally and won’t cause
excessive harm to our lives due to its regeneration ability.
However the made pollution is caused by human activity
stand to get rid of. The backbone of man made pollution
are human population and technology.TYPES OF POLLUTION
Air pollution
Air pollution is defined as any contaminate of the
atmosphere that disturb the natural composition and
chemistry of air. This can be in the form of particulate
manner such as dust or excessive gas like carbon dioxide
or other vapour that cannot be effectively removed through
natural cycles.
——
Air pollution cause wide verity of sources. Some of the,
most excessive sources include-
e Vehicles and manufacturing exhaust.
Forest fires, volcanic eruption, dry souls.
e Building construction.
Depending on the concentration of the air pollution
several effect can be noticed causing acid rain, crop
depletion , high rate of asthma and global warming are all
related to increase in air pollution.Water pollution
Water pollution involves many contaminated water
whether from chemical particulate or bacterial matter that
degraded the water quality and purity. Water pollution can
occur in ocean, river, lakes and underground reservoir, and
as different water sources flow together the pollution can
spread.

industrial waste
Cause of Water pollution include —
e Increase sediment from soil erosion .
e Improper waste disposal and littering .
e Lacking of soil pollution into water supply.
Organic material decay in water supplies.
The effect of water pollution include decreasing the
quantity of drink able water available lowering water
supplies from crop irrigation and imp acting fish and
wildlife population that required water of certain purity for
survival.Soil pollution
Soil or land is contaminated of soil that prevent natural growth
and balance in the land. It is used for cultivation habitat and
as a wildlife preserve. Some soil pollution, such as creation of
landfills is deliberate. While much more in accidental and
cause widespread effects.
Soil pollution sources include-
« Hazardous waste and sewage spills.
e Non sustainable farming practice.
Strip mining.
e House hold dump.
Soil contaminated lead to poor growth and reduce crop fields,
less wildlife habitat, soil erosion.SOLUTION TO REDUCE POLLUTION
Air pollution-
1. Filter harmful gases before releasing them from chimney.
2. Use public transport or cycle to reduce vehicles emission
and enhance personal heatth.
3. Avoid burning plastic, dry leave and other material to
reduce harmful pollution.
Water pollution-
1. Avoid dumping of plastic and waste to protect aquatic life
and water quality.
2. Reduce pesticides, insecticide and harmful chemical
that contaminate water.
3. Avoid strong chemical that polluted water.
Soil pollution-
1. Prevent industrial dumping.
2. Replace plastic with biodegradable containers to prevent
pollution.
3. Tree improve soil quality and prevent pollution.Pollution, in fact, is a part of our lives today. Natural pollution occurs naturally and
won't cause excessive harm to our lives due to its regeneration ability. However, the
man-made pollution is caused by human activities, and hard to get rid of. The
backbones of this man-made pollution are human population and technology.
What can we say about this problem? If we bring this topic out to people in general,
politicians and industrialists alike, there is an immediate agreement that pollution is
wrong and it must be prevented. But we have to ask ourselves, what the degree of
global pollution is now and the efforts taken to combat it. Is pollution now
overpowering us? But we can be assured as the world goes on; zero pollution can
never be achieved. At least, we should give an effort to minimize it, regardless of
geographical boundaries.
Industrial pollution is a growing pain. It is not a problem that came suddenly from the
sky- it's our fault and has been a part of our life through many years. Can you imagine
living in a world where all the things we use are synthetics? We must be wise in
managing our resources, and take positive action towards preventing any forms of
pollution to the environment. Make the world a better place to live.
