Nature of specimen: Biopsy from D2 growth

Clinical features: Complaint of pain abdomen associated with vomting.

Clinical Diagnosis: Polyp for evaluation.

Gross examination: Received multiple pale brown cores (5), larger core measuring 0.3 x 0.2 cm.

All embedded.

Microscopic findings: Sections examined from multiple fragments of polyp show foci of

neutrophilic infiltration of mucosal lining. Glands are enlarged, dilated with focal branching and

dysplastic changes in the form of hyperchromatic enlarged nucleus, clumped chromatin and

prominent nucleoli. Dysplastic glands are seen invading the muscularis mucosae in one of the

fragments. Lamina propria shows moderate lymphoplasmacystic infiltrate.

Impression: Biopsy from D2 growth - Adenocarcinoma.
