PREFACE
The 33rd Edition of the IATA Airport Handling Manual becomes effective on 1 January 2013 and replaces the 32nd Edition, which
should not be used after 31 December 2012. This manual contains the latest updates of a series of procedures and specifications
which have been approved by the IATA Airport Services Committee (ASC) as best practices.
The standards have been developed by specialist groups as the most practical and economical standards which airlines, ground
handling companies and airports are recommended to follow.
These working groups are open to all IATA member airlines, IATA Ground Handling Council (IGHC) members and IATA Strategic
Partners. We would like to thank all the individuals, and their organizations that participate or have participated actively in the
working group meetings, and we invite all members to contribute to the development and update of the Airport Handling Manual.
