Objectives
A. To develop relevant expertise and competence in the academe and deliver quality education for the total development of teacher
education students;

C. To develop creativity and scientific approaches, and encourage innovative ideas in the academe in order to provide efficient and
effective services in the elementary and secondary levels;
D. To develop research competence among BEED/ BSED/ BTLED/ BPED students in order to contribute to the general advancement of

E. To facilitate the development of skills and attitudes necessary for success of the Pre-service teachers who shall be employable locally
and abroad;

Course Description:
As mandated by Republic Act 1425, this course covers the life and works of the country’s national hero, Jose Rizal. Among the topics
covered are the Rizal’s biography and his writings, particularly the novels Noli me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, some essays, and various
correspondence.

Course Requirements:
1. Submit the required outputs of the course;
2. Achieve a passing mark in both the assessment tasks and major examinations; and
3. Gain in-depth understanding of the concepts through research, course readings and course tasks.
A. Attendance (10%)
Attendance covers 10% of the final grade, therefore students are highly encouraged to participate and attend class discussions. Absentees
will be marked absent but they may take a special examination (for quizzes only) provided that they have an excuse letter. Those students
without excuse letter are not allowed to take a special examination.
B. Quizzes and Assignments (30%)
Twenty percent of the final grade will be coming from the quizzes (50%) and assignments (50%). Therefore, students should comply the
necessary outputs and pass the quizzes and assignments of the course.
C. Participation and Project (20%)
Participation includes engaging in class discussions, contributing to group activities, and demonstrating consistent effort in individual or
collaborative tasks. The project, on the other hand, will focus on applying course concepts through structured tasks provided by the
instructor.
D. Major Examinations (40%)
A midterm and final term examination will be administered. As mentioned, this exam will be administered and given at the same time
to all learners. Questions will be coming from the course reading, topic discussions and other course materials provided by the instructor.

AI Integration Policy in Written Submissions
AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in Writing:
AI technologies may be utilized to enhance readability and language, not to replace critical authoring tasks (e.g., scientific insights,
conclusions, clinical recommendations).
Human oversight is necessary when applying AI, as it can produce potentially incorrect or biased output.
Authors remain responsible and accountable for the content and authenticity of their work.
Transparency and Disclosure:
Students must indicate full disclosure of the use of AI and AI-assisted tools in their written submissions.
Students must include sources on the proper AI citation formats.
Transparency encourages and establishes trust among authors, readers, reviewers, and contributors. Writers must provide full
disclosure of their AI use in their submissions.
Obeying and or compliance to the relevant tool or technology terms of use is important.
Authorship and Responsibility:
AI and AI-assisted technologies should not be listed as authors or co-authors.
Remember that authors should familiarize themselves with RSU's Ethics policy before submitting their work.
