EEA project

The project involves creating a motor-controlled fan system with LED indicators to show operational status. When powered, the green LED lights up indicating the fan is on, and pressing a push button activates a relay to turn off the fan and switch on a red LED. The project demonstrates the functionality of relays in controlling higher power devices and includes practical skills in circuit assembly and component connections.

Motor -Controlled Fan With LED Status

Indicators

Aim or requirement outcomes:

The aim of this project is to build a motor-controlled fan system with LED
Indicators to display the fan's operational status.

Apparatus and components:

 3V DC Motor
 12V Relay
 Transistor (BC547)
 Push button
 LED (Green and Red)
 Wires
 Resistors (R1=220Ω; R2=220Ω;R3=220Ω)
 DC power supply of 12Vdc and 3Vdc
 Breadboard
 Diode

Practical circuit layout:

Procedure;

 Firstly you must identify the required resistors using color coding and
verify using a multimeter the resister value.

Results:

When the circuit is connected correctly. When the circuit is connected to the
power supply the Green LED will light up when the fan is on and when the
you press the push button it will activate the transistor-based Relay which
acts as a switch will turn off the motor and the Green LED and the other Red
LED will be on.

Discussion
In this project we were able to see how the relay works and how it control
higher power devices like a motor. Here are the new skills that I have learned
.

 It is how the Relay works and how it is connected and how it can
control the higher power devices like a motor.
 We were able to see how a Relay acts as a switch and where the coil
is.
 How to connect the LED parallel to the motor.
 How the Diode is connected with the Relay

Conclusion

In conclusion the Green LED and motor will be on when connected to power
and when you press the push button it will trigger the Transistor-based Relay
causing, the motor and the Green LED to be off and the red LED will be on
